A taiwanese dessert place with a relaxing atmosphere and some cute vintage movie posters on the wall. Came in here in a rainy evening with a friend. It wasn't too busy. I am not sure if they taste authentic Taiwanese, but the dessert was not bad with satisfying proportion.

have been here many times and we really like this taiwanese shaved ice. There are lots of toppings and some are pretty healthy such as bean, barley, lotus seed
Im not sure why the rating is so low but this is where I would go when I am craving for taiwanese dessert. My favorite is the Grass Jelly with taro mash, red bean, potato ball and black sesame ice cream. Ice cream cost $3 for a scoop, sure its a bit pricy but I couldnt find anywhere else that serve that damn good black sesame ice cream. Fried chicken was also good. Located in swanston st. And its spacious, eventhough the floor is abit dirty
Snow ice no.3 for 4 people after dinner. The matcha is really nice, not to bitter yet not to sweet. Red bean is nice as well. Taro ball really chewy in a nice way :)
This is my go to place when I have bad presentation day at uni.. sweetest, coldest and the most amazing shaved ice creams ever tasted. Mango shaved ice is top notch.
Nice food specially the fries chicken with the super spicy wow so delicious , come come come nice nice , happy new year 2017 , bless all my friend
always busy, especially in the evening. there is almost no space between each table. Desserts taste okay, but not amazing. Staff here are not very helpful, either.
So we tried the green tea snow ice dessert which was about $12 ish, it is pretty big, 2 people couldn't even finish it, so definitely worth the price. Green tea ice cream is okay, the green tea jelly was refreshing. The waffle he is nice but not amazing. The green tea balls was soft and chewy which is good cos it's not meant to he hard. Tho one of the down fall to this places would have to be the bubble milk tea, it's a bit weak compare to other places. The place is pretty small so I don't suggest taking the kids with you cos there not much room for prams but definitely a nice place to chill with the girls.
We miss this place now and then because of the green tea snow ice no.3, which was definitely in my pregnancy diary. When i was pregnant, i was craving for that every night. We have lost count how many we have eaten during the pregnancy. The portion was huge. I am quite sure it cant be finished by one person. Best to share with friends for summer treats.
nice place for asian type of desserts - we normally order either the grass jelly base, or the tofu base with add on sago, mashed taro, and green or red beans. this place opens until late on the weekends like 2pm so it's pretty handy to go if you have some late night dessert cravings. typical self order at the counter type of places, it is on swanton street near corner of lonsdale. i prefer this place over dessert story in china town.
Only went here for dessert: Grass jelly no. 4 is my favourite as it has a little bit of everything. The taro in the middle was very silky smooth and creamy. It's a good dessert to choose for sharing and very enjoyable to eat. It's pretty similar to Dessert House.
My sis and me tried their Mango Snow Ice, one of my favourite dessert. The portion is generous and it tasted really good.
And they also have a nice Taro milk tea with some taro puree.
Apart from Dessert Story, this would be an alternative place to visit for those Yummy deeserts. Had the strawberry milk ice and it was so nice. Reasonable price and good portion which is what we want!
We like the dessert 古早1号, sorry for not knowing the English name. It has snow ice below with milk flavour. The toppings includes red beans, lotus and smashed taro. We spend $3.5 to add a black sesame ice-cream on it whose size is under our expectation.
Found this little jem walking around after dinner, thought I'd give it a go and I was blown away the dessert was amazing and was so amazed with how it looked too, so worth my money! Had a variety of desserts as well as fried food and drinks. I've been to so many Asian dessert places like dessert story and gong cha and etc and have to be honest this place was the best and I haven't stop coming here ever since, never went back to the others places. The staff was also super nice and friendly and made sure everything was alright. Have to come at a good time though cause it's always packed and super busy. I recommend this place to everyone seriously wont regret it
As Taiwanese food continues to tighten its grip on Melbourne through bubble tea, frozen desserts and deep-fried deliciousness, we look at what Nine Taiwanese Dessert House brings to the table (literally).

Drinks was good.
Customer service was good too.
Been there once , try to seat inside the dessert house but it wasn't smell nice.. cant tell what's that smell. Its just not right. Not sure what's that smell from.
Don't be fooled by the standard decor. This place servers one of the best Taiwanese dessert in town.
Two is the magic number here. Go with thsi number and you will hit the jackpot. We ordered Snow Ice No 2 which is can be called "Death by Mango". Mango Snow Ice topped with sweet mango and mango jelly and let's not forget the mango puree. Yumm..
The hot grass jelly no 2 is also very nice. Bean Taro ball and peanut in hot grass jelly.
Bottomline : Great dessert. Good service albeit a bit slow. Good Value.
Yummy Taiwanese desserts!!!
Recommended if your in the city and looking for some cold chilled shaved ice.
Great place for dessert after a big meal in China town. It opens til pretty late. I often go there for a macha floaty. Shaved ice options are good too, big enough for two people to share. The wings and other snack dishes are a bit on the greasy side. Either them or Dessert Story for me.
Had the Mango snow ice and the tofu pudding in ginger, both were delicious, staff were lovely and friendly, very inviting. The place seems to always be very busy! I guess that means their desserts must be very good! Prices are reasonable based on portion size. Overall good experience.
Love every single thing from this shop, mashed taro is the best
Great!. Love the matcha shaved ice! So good
Love it!. We come here all the time for the meals. The 豬排 is really nice. I also love their pearl teas. Highly recomment the taro one. Its also the place to go for your 雪花冰cravings!
Delicious and authentic desserts. My Taiwanese parents were impressed, which says a lot.
Love their deep fried chicken and grass jelly selection. Love their big piece of deep fried chicken
I come this place with my friends all the time and every time we order the chicken and the grass jelly number 4 (with aloe Vera and sago topping)
Green tea red bean shaved ice !! Refresh. I love the amount of red bean They served, and the green tea jelly is really tasty too, their taro ball is full of taro and It does not taste artificial
Will back again
Cosy vibe and friendly staff ! Desserts were interesting and fairly good like taro balls and te mango shaved ice. Although slightly overpriced for Taiwanese desserts, I would go back again.
Good impression. 2nd time here ever since Meet Fresh is closed. Had a Oolong tea for take away, loved it. This time, had a hot grass jelly dessert and fried chicken with seaweed flavour. Loved both. Well, seems I found another asian dessert place after Meet Fresh.
The dessert I had was very cool. Green tea jelly with ice cream and some stewed fruit and red bean ice. When it was busy it took a long time to make though. We had a laugh about it though, "What does the nine mean? It takes nine years to make?"
A bit on the expensive side but portions are big. If you just had a meal, you might not be able to finish the dessert! Good for sharing, preferred the mango over matcha shaved ice.
