Review Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill - Melbourne

Good fast and efficient service. In the basement level of DFO food court. The store has its own eatery area or you can dine in the food court. Freshly made and good size buritto where you can choose your own ingredients and it's freshly served to you.

Absolutely delicious! It was my first time visiting a mad mex before and their food was so good! The chicken is cooked fresh on a grill behind the counter so you can see it isn’t gross bits. It’s chicken breast chunks not mince or other parts. The sauce flavours are really tasty and the staff were friendly. The wrap and salads were also fresh and tasty not wilted or souring. I highly recommend this place! Wish there was one in my town

This store is my favourite mad mex stores the staff always remember what I like and how I like it. The staff are friendly and communicate with respect and note for responsibility. With the “extras” isn’t so bad considering the regular anything is starting at $12 something or less for a small so it’s a cheap price to have extras. They have great new campaigns for a snacking range which is good for the kids and has reasonable prices., check it out!! ⭐️👍☺️

Is there a Zero Rating if I could give? Customer service - zero Food we ordered was very cold. Very disappointing.

Had the chicken burrito that was really nice. Ordered the kids the soft tacos and omg so stingy on the meat barely any on there. Less than a mouth full on each. DON'T ORDER THE SOFT TACOS 3 FOR $11

I ordered regular naked burrito. The amount of fill in was little and they charged me 1 dollar extra for beef and $1.5 extra for holiday surcharge. I paid for the food because I was hungry but they should put the price there. It supposed to be $12.5 but I paid $15.

worst customer service, I love mad mex but this store was awful. The waitress was so not interested and would confirm repeatedly when I asked for extra meat for $2( which I always do )implying I wont be able to afford $2 extra. I asked for extra cheese put in separate, to get the eye roll. No hospitality or courteousness in this place. would keep going to Mad Mex but not this store

This has got to be the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. I had asked the girl kindly for no lettuce and i got a head slanted and eye rolled. She put 6 strands of cheese and i asked for more cheese please and she stated its a dollar extra. I spent 85 dollars on liquid food because she didnt drain anything. Never again

The taste of nachos was ok ok not that good . Spicy brittos were also not that great . But at this price was huge bite and quite filling . Just average taste I have had better Mexican food . Ok was a quick bite

Disappointing. Pathetic quantity for a $12 dish. I ordered Naked Burrito. I would have felt relieved if the quantity was covered by good taste, but unfortunately this joint is below an average!

Eaten here very sporadically, and every time I'm disappointed. This time it made me ill as hell, which wasn't very good considering I had to work all night. Eating at DFO in general is always a gamble it seems.

Got a beef quesadilla and it was amazing, couldn’t have been any better. Also had a frozen lime margarita and was mouth watering. Would definitely go again

I ordered a grandemelt and got a soggy something which I don’t know what we can name and have no clue on how to eat the end product. Reason is there is No rice and hence cheese and beans melt causing it to become soggy instead of crunchy. ( the guy at the counter told me this )
Cons:
1. Rice is not served since management asked to serve only if customer requests for it. I got to know this since I asked why is my grande melt like a sponge
2. Choice of wrap was not asked.
3. Guacamole was removed as part of vegetarian option. Strange-reason is tofu was added in veggies. Not convincing.

On a positive note I asked for some extra beans and they gave but that became a bane since this extra beans caused sogginess apparently.

Moderate service Bad taste. Not worth the money.

What a disappointment for 3 tacos I was served tacos with barely any lettuce so I had to ask for more. There was only sour cream on 2 of the 3 tacos and the third one I ordered was a pork taco except it had NO pork in it ...just the salad so this was vegetarian and not what I ordered.

All the meat juices / oil were running everywhere so my tacos were soggy before i got to even eat it.

Not good enough for a lunch venue and I understand you were training staff but how is this acceptable during peak hour lunch. I will not be back to this store.

The taste is So-so. Small portion, not the best mexican food you can get. Located at the south warf food court next to go burger. Not coming back again.
Staff is worst at the front (Indian Girl) and we ordered naked burrito vegetarian and literally they didnt put anything except chesse rice avacodo and beans - when we asked for sweetcorn , jalapeno and onions with some sauces they are responding badly.
Good Food Good Mood
Having a bit of a shop I stopped for a refuel and grabbed a quesadilla. One thing I don't like about Mad Mex is their tomato and onion is mixed together as I love tomatoes and loathe onion. They accommodated by serving it on the side so I could attempt to fussily sift through it but ultimately I found the meal itself far too cheesy. As you can see from the picture it appears quite oily and greasily liquid like. It did not deliver on the claim of fresh Mexican flavours

Not that impressed with this Mad Mex outlet but not many options in this food court. I had an unmemorable burrito, the guac which I added was probably the most processed avocado I have had (I have had a lot of them in the different outlets in Melbourne). The food court itself is occupied by a weird crowd, lots of buisinessmen here. The tables are often a little dirty. I think it is the best option in the food court, but I would not go out of my way to come here really.

Still the same quality at all restaurants. Amazing food and amazing service. If you haven't tried it - it's a must for all! I want to eventually try every option of the menu - tried most and haven't been disappointed yet.

We were in a rush while shopping and decided to eat here, since the place anyways has very limited vegetarian options.
They served really quickly and I liked the way they took the order. They prepare dishes as per your preferences. We ordered quesadillas and burritos. Both were good.

There’s more than a few Mad Mex(es?) around, and the one we visited on this occasion was in the DFO South Wharf complex. It was about the same as the other Mad Mexes I’ve been to around town, so above average franchise Mexican that gets way too drippy in the end. My eating partner and I both went for the chorizo burrito, with inclusions of cheese, salad, beans, rice, sour cream and mystery Mexican sauce. Most of the menu is variations of this.

Mexican at its best, quick and affordable without compromising the quality. Serving is pretty generous too. Burritos and quesadilla is a must-order in every visit

They really loved their meals. It was great how well efficient they are, my wrap was prepared in a matter of seconds.

The wrap was full of spice and taste, it was also filling.

The first time I had Mad mex was back in Auckland and I did enjoy that experience. We were on a shopping expedition that day and found ourselves starving. We walked around the food court looking for something exciting and found this place. I ordered the beef burrito and Jarritos. As expected, the food remains the same. Tasty as I remembered it from my first experience and the staff was lovely. If you are hungry pre, during, and post shopping then you should check this place out. Worth it!

I am not a great fan of mexican food, but mad mex provides you good options.
The best thing about this place is fast delivery!
I tried Naked burrito and quesadillas, and both were decent. I like the sauce they give the quesadillas.

Yesterday I tried Mad Mex for the first time! I was unsure of how good the experience would be, considering I've had a friend try Mad Mex before (but a different store) and told me it was quite average.

Mad Mex is great if you want food immediately. My boyfriend and I were both surprised how nice the tacos were! I also ordered a strawberry frozen margarita. Tasty enough but I still think I prefer the margaritas at Taco Bill 😅

Was good for a quick take away Mexicans. The friend I was with also had an onion allergy and they were happy and able to cater to her needs.
