The staff were lovely, friendly and welcoming. When I first arrived, the waitress brought some chips and salsa. I was pleased that I wasn't treated differently just because I had an EatClub reservation.
I ordered the popcorn prawns, prawn & scallop quesadilla, and Fandango Mango frozen margarita. It was all served piping hot and quickly. The servings were very generous – I was barely able to finish the meal!
I loved the spiciness and crispness of the popcorn prawns – I especially loved the generous bowl of chipotle aioli (all too often, restaurants provide a sauce bowl that is barely adequate for half the serving!). The quesadilla was excellent. It's a bit of a messy/deliciously ugly dish – but with emphasis on the "delicious". I thoroughly enjoyed the frozen margarita – I can see why it's a Taco Bill's trademark!
Taco Bill South Melbourne is definitely one of the best Taco Bill stores in Melbourne and, after a previous negative experience at a neighbouring store, it's improved my opinion of the franchise.
Staff were nice and friendly. Service was good. Nachos was good though more sauce would be nice. Price were average. Location is convenient as it is near tram stops.
we loved the food at taco bill- authentic Mexican with an extensive menu and a really fun vibe! The loaded nachos with beans are an absolute must to share! We loved the combination vegetarian main (with a bit of everything) and the burrito bowl salad as a healthy (but delicious option). The margarita sampler is an absolute must- a taste of all the options and of course, a lot fun!
I dined here after three days of fasting to ensure I could get as much nachos and tacos in as possible. I am always weary eating mexican because it can either go well or it can be disasterous and cause intense bleeding and abdominal pain. Thankfully the food here was nice and the meal went well. Being here on a groupon we were excited to have unlimited nachos and tacos on offer. I will put a little sneaky tip here - much like the tips that you get when playing a video game that gets you to the next level. Don't fill up on too many nachos because you won't have room for the tacos. We went too hard on the nachos and filled up quickly. The staff were very friendly and there were no ramications the next day. Bring your baraccas, sombrero and head down to shake your can can at this mexican institution. I had the chicken and bean tacos. they're well proportioned with ample filling and delicious. enjoy the complimentary tortilla chips with fresh salsa as you wait for your order which arrives super quickly.

The fajitas come with super tender chicken and beef hat is well seasoned. the accompanying rice is blah. for an extra 4 bucks you get a massive scoop of sour cream, some shredded mozzarella and salsa but honestly the sizzling meat wrapped in soft flour tortilla is satisfying on its own

Very surprised to see such a generous amount of food served from a Mexican chain.Fresh produce at its greatest have a look at the pics. Avocado in a salad just the way i like it, and its slow cooked beef was sensational rice fluffy and the salsa was tangy .Chicken was cooked well and to finish up dessert tacos customer service excellent family friendly. Will be back for Thursday nachos and tacos night. Good work guys great experience .
Went here last night because I received a free meal and a slice of Mexican birthday cake for my birthday - the food was good and the service was very friendly. The birthday cake (more like a sticky date pudding) was delicious. Will definitely be going back

I would not be exaggerating in the slightest to say I've been to Taco Bill 50 times over the past ten plus years but I just wanted to commend the South Melbourne branch on their service. After an enjoyable catch up with a girlfriend for dinner the staff gave us a free sombrero and complimentary margarita tokens to use next time. Like I needed a reason to go back for more mango tequila goodness. Yum
I was concerned at first with the reviews on zomato and i had to attend a work lunch @TacoBill - my expectations were normalized. I admit secretly expected the worse before the best.
I am pleased to report, this place is pretty underrated. Wonderful greeting by owners/staff on entry followed great service by a Swedish/Scandinavian girl called sissell who was our waitress, food was delicious, chilli was super 🔥🔥and the venue was an interesting set up.
I highly recommend this place, if you want to a Mexican experience at moderate price.
Fantastic food! And even better service. I had organised a Christmas party at this taco bill, Shobez the manager looked after us so well. He was entertaining made sure the food was perfect and everyone had fun. I'd definitely recommend and would only ever go back to taco bills on Clarendon St 😊

Exceeded expectations!. So, four of us were sitting around deciding what to eat for dinner in celebration of my birthday. Not a milestone, but my birthday nonetheless. How about Taco Bills, a few blocks up the street, I ask? Everyone was up for it, including our mate who had never experienced it before. I had been and found the food enjoyable and service friendly.
Boy, were we in for a night of serious fun. We got great service at first, and after my hubby and I ordered (what we call) Bulldogs, which is basically a margarita with a corona upside down in it, we were given great sombreros ( you know the ones). However, knowing it was my birthday, they gave sombreros to our other two pals, as well as a round of tequilas. So we enjoyed our lovely delicious meals and drinks and they took photos (providing temporary Mexican mo's) for our social media-addicted hearts. After dinner, they brought us dessert and surprised me with a lovely birthday sundae including sparklers. And another round of tequilas. We had so much fun and the service, particularly that provided by Shoebz, was spectacular. When paying the bill, I was surprised again with some Margherita sunglasses (if you like piña coladas, and getting caught in the rain...) and a free meal plus some more friendly photos. Can you get amazing Mexican elsewhere (yes, with the $$ attached)! But this was a delicious meal, a real treat, the full experience with spectacular service from people who really know their customer and are attentive to them. I had a blast and we will all definitely be back!

After the completion of a week's hard work from a range of volunteers who had travelled from around Australia to a sporting event which took place in South Melbourne, we decided to have a 'break up' event to celebrate the tireless efforts of each individual. The 'break up' which entailed dinner with drinks was welcome with open arms by the wonderful Taco Bill South Melbourne. A lot of the volunteers were sceptical about the Mexican restaurant as a vast majority of us had no prior knowledge of the establishment and therefore attended the dinner with no real expectations or hopes of an overly eventful night. Speaking personally, I have attended many 'break up' dinners and they all have entailed a very structured, formalised dinner that just turned out down right boring! High drink and food prices and less then average staff. HOWEVER, Taco Bill has definately been the exception and turned out to be one of the most eventful 'break up' parties I have ever had the pleasure of attending. It definately made my Melbourne experience that much more enjoyable! I am more than grateful for the amazing food, high quality staff and great atmosphere that Taco Bill South Melbourne provided. I would also like to make an extended thankyou to Shoebz who made the night extra special for each and every volunteer. His efforts will not be forgotten! I would highly recommended this particular establishment to anyone and would not hesitate to return! The experience of Taco Bill South Melbourne has given me a very positive outlook on the other Taco Bill establishments, but the service provided by Shoebz and the other staff was something that's worth travelling to South Melbourne for.
Will gladly see you at the 'break up' party next year!

Such refreshing, friendly and helpful service. Reminds me of US service everytime we go. Willing to modify and work with you on options so you get just what you want. Fajitas are amazing. Fun and relaxing atmosphere and very filling - you can even take your food home if you don't finish it.
Went there with a crew after the footy on Sunday- friendly staff and service kept the beers & fish bowls coming! Great tucker,good times.. Cheers!

South Of The River, Down Mexico Way. OK so we all get told Taco Bills is not “real” Tex-Mex food: but personally I don’t care. Apart from a period living overseas I’ve been coming to Taco Bill South Melbourne for well over 20 years. Anyone who complains about Taco Bill's food should try going “Mexican” in England: now that really IS something to complain about!
At TB South Melb a medium serve of Nachos Supremos is around $17, the BYO license is another bonus, and with various discount/shop-a-docket vouchers continuously circulating around town, more often than not one of us gets a free main. Added to that the “Birthday Club” (more free food, free cake, and possibly a sombrero chucked in), & “Tight Ass Tuesdays”, who can really complain?? Plus the staff are always welcoming and Shoeb is one of the nicest restaurant managers you could hope to meet. The man is a live wire but always has time to say “Hi!” and makes sure the punters are happy & everything is running as it should.
I do have closer “Mexican” restaurants that I can even walk to, but I still choose Taco Bills South Melb because it is like putting on a fav pair of old slippers. And, unlike a certain other Taco Bills franchise I could mention (yes I am looking at you Taco Bills Essendon), the Sth Melb franchise has never once hesitated in honouring our vouchers/freebie coupons. Simply put my friends and I like the feel of the place & the staff too.
I don't understand people who go to a tex mex restaurant & then complain when that's what they get! It is exactly what it promises to be, a delicious indulgence. Bust, good vibe & the staff were really attentive & very friendly
Best Taco Bill in town. This one has got to take the crown of the Best Taco Bill in Melbourne. Tucked away in a lazy corner of Clarendon Street, lunch on weekdays where you can sneak a Margarita is something out of this world - due to the fact that everyone in there seems to be doing it.
Dinner was great fun with a large group.

Me and my partner went here for a celebration meal. We shared a fishbowl margarita which was very nice and also had multiple different menu items.
I am very experienced with Mexican food in general having lived in Los Angeles for some time. Whereas my partner is very new to Mexican food in general, this gave her a great introduction without being too overwhelming for a first experience.
There's a really good menu to choose from and our waitress was very accomodating of any requests we made throughout our meal.

Had booked a table for my birthday at the Russell Street Taco Bill (everything was confirmed) get there to find it's closed and the contact number was going straight to voice mail! Called the Taco Bill contact number for head office but it (luckily) took me through to South Melbourne's restaurant, they understood my frustration and offered a table there and half priced meals, which is already amazing but they really out did it! The service was incredible! Free tequila shots for us all, I got my meal for free, free dessert, fun stick on moustaches, I even got a taco bill temporary tattoo put on me as well! And to top it off I got given a free drink card for my next visit! Really saved and made my birthday dinner the best! I'm glad that Russell street was closed because the South Melbourne Taco Bill is 100% better in so many ways! Cannot recommend enough! Thank you to the wonderful team there!
