Great coffee. Great food. Staff are always pleasant and accommodating. Definitely worth stopping in. The new renovations are also fabulous and have really opened the place up!
Great coffee, great toasties. Service pretty good, unfortunately not open weekends so don't get to visit this place often, but worth a visit for their coffee if you find them open
Quiet joint great coffee. I love the coffee here, strong but not bitter, properly prepared.
I had the other day the most delectable vegetarian roll ever, seeded bread with a fabulous combo of roasted vegetables, which was yummy all over., and so very beautiful to look at .
The place is frequented by quiet people wanting to have a quiet time. No hype.
Very small place, but very classy stylish furniture and decoration.
Staff are correct.
Beautiful Coffee!. I visit this cafe almost every day. The coffee is wonderful. You can see when it's made how much passion, care and detail is put into every cup. They also don't charge extra for soy. This is thr first place I've been to that used a bit of common sense and fairness deciding not to charge extra for soy. Great job!
A year ago I reviewed this place giving it top marks for the best coffee and ambience in Kensington. I have not changed this assessment. Still consistently great coffee (mine a soy latte) and a just right lunch. Love the free wifi and sun in the windows...
Really, really good coffee that's made with care. Highly recommend.
Coffee. Best coffee in Kensington. Nuf said..
What a fantastic place! Ke.... What a fantastic place!
Kensington is lucky to have this cafe. It is by far the best for yummy food (not a huge range but that doesn't matter to me for a brunch or lunch), and it has to have the best coffee in this area- the place across rhe road gets all the accolades, but this is far better in all ways. Not only that, they only charge $3.20 for all coffees, including my choice, a soy latte. I am charged more than $1 more in many places. Also FREE wi- fi!
This place really is a gem.
Great in Winter. Excelllent coffee. Free wifi, really cheap food (six bucks for a toasted foccacia!) north facing so lovely sitting out on a street table in winter. Intimate. A gem.
Best coffee I've had in Kensington, though sadly not open Sundays! Great service. Love the photos on the walls of what the place looked like when the current owner was growing up, adds a real charm to it.
Love the coffees - cheap food!!! Kensington little gem!
Great coffee + free wi-fi = brilliant cafe. Came across this place by accident on my way home from Yarraville. Got some chicken rolls from the charcoal chicken next door then popped in for a takeaway coffee to be delightfully surprised by the small, homely, grassroots feel, no doubt accentuated by the compact room which had little more than the coffee bar and a handful of tables and chairs. I was served quickly, the coffee was delicious and just about all of the 5 or so tables for 2 were occupied by individuals with laptops and other portable wi-fi devices making the most of the free wi-fi as advertised in the front window.
I now look forward to my trips across town to Williamstown or Yarraville because it means I can stop there on the way and enjoy a great tasting coffee from a place that seems to have a very down-to-earth vision.
Beautiful coffee - nice surprise. Extended their opening hours a little, opened onto footpath and all of a sudden the secret's out. Hope they can keep up with the interest.
Unassuming Shop, friendly owner, great local history and reflects the community of Kensington well. Yes there are other nice cafes for Brekky and instagramable meals, but here there’s one price for coffee (irrespective of milk and shots) and it is unpretentious which means you have honest, good, community-minded service. Settle in with a bikkie, muffin or toastie to partner the cuppa of a morning and take the time to know the area you’re visiting or living in.
I live around the corner from Grounded House and have seen a few people lining up to get coffee here and there. I decided to check out this cafe this morning because it was rainy and I felt like having a warm drink. I ordered the dirty chai and it's probably one of the best dirty chai's I've had so far..
I don't usually leave reviews, but I definitely felt the need to write one just for this shoutout :)
Always good coffee. And a pleasant ambiance.
