Living in Wheelers Hill, Ramen and Dumpling House is an easy option for lazy nights when the family craves takeout.
Having a sizeable menu and a super accessible restaurant, we are regular patrons here. The food here is just above average Chinese food - does not stick out of the crowd but is also enjoyable.
On busy nights, there may be a short wait time of around 5-10 minutes. Takeout food also comes in good portions.

Some of the best vegetarian dumplings around! The filling with the corn gave an interesting texture and crunch. The skins were chewy but crunchy at the same time, very impressed. Extra points for doing the hot and sour soup in a vegetarian version too, very few dumpling houses have this option when dumplings and soup go hand in hand really. They try to fit as many tables as possible into a small room so it can be a little cramped. Friendly, attentive service.

Good dumplings are hard to come by in this suburb so Ramen and Dumpling House is as good as it gets in the area which is why it always seems packed!
I was most impressed, and gave a higher rating, for their speedy service despite having orders up to their ears. Easy phone order with a pick-up 15-20mins later. It was ready and waiting to be taken outta there.
We ordered the boiled chicken and prawn dumplings which we found to be chewier than we would like. The filling was quite fresh however was lacking some seasoning. Luckily with dumplings, you dunk them in the soy-vinegar sauce and drown with chilli oil and ta-da, instant flavour!
Also ordered chicken and prawn wontons in chilli and peanut sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. The wontons were juicy and the casings just melted. The chilli and peanut sauce was tasty (only for peanut lovers) and had the right amount of grease (glorious glorious oil)...diet starts Monday......

We ordered the shanghai noodles and chicken & prawn dumplings. Unlike other chinese restaurants their shanghai noodles aren't greasy or overflavoured with salt, sugar or sauce. It actually tasted healthy. The pork meat pieces were really soft too. Noodles tasted fresh and nice. The dumplings were equally good and I like how the skin is thin and crispy.
This place is our neighbourhood go-to for noodles and dumplings (beef and chicken/prawn wontons are the actual best), the food never lets us down! It's so much fresher and cheaper than anywhere else I've tried in Melbourne. Service is friendly and takeaway is super efficient.

My biggest negative is the sauce for dumplings, they appear to be a bit stingy with it. You have to ask for the chilli or vinegar sauce and they give you this tiny portion and when you ask for a 2nd, they appear reluctant. I spent $70 on takeaway, waited ages, so please give some dumpling sauce.
Anyway, as I said, very good food and will be a regular, but be prepared to wait some evenings.
The dumplings here are awesome. Price is great and so is the portion size. Don't come here for the ambience, though it's better than some of the places in the city. Service is great as well.
Awesome food and a cozy atmosphere 🤗💓 Would definitely come back ☺️. The pan fried dumplings were amazing to eat but my favourite dish would have to be the cashew nut chicken ❤️
I have dined here and ordered for pick-up/take-away several times and I just have to say the food is absolutely delicious. I am currently going through the menu trying out everything they have to offer, and personally, I have had a great experience. The service is immaculate. My favorite is the Fried Pork Ribs with Chilli & Garlic ordered along with Stir-fried Bok Choy, and served with steamed rice. If you like authentic spicy food, I highly recommend Ramen and Dumpling House Wheelers Hill.
For something different to your "typical" Chinese food this is definitely worth a try! My favourites are the eggplant with shredded pork in szechuan sauce and the strawberry fried pork. Absolutely delicious and great service!
Where do I start. You'd be losing money if you didn't eat here. Those cold chilly night when you're doing laps on kingsway frustratingly deciding where to eat... You now have your answer. Think of this as a better version of China Bar, without the angry guy giving you a death stare when you say you have no cash.

Details: Pretty much addicted to this joint. Not AMAZING quality Chinese, but definitely the best in Wheelers Hill [perhaps even better than the Glen].
Love the boiled pork dumplings, chicken and prawn dumplings, beef and black bean sauce, fried rice, honey chicken and probably anything else I would order here.

Good potsticker pork dumplings and a plate of noodles for lunch. 20 bucks including a pot of Chinese tea. Good value , and tasted good.
Decided to book for dinner with friends, but discovered this restaurants does not have a liquor licence, so no Alcohol for sale or BYO.
Ordered pan fried pork dumplings and steamed pork dumplings in noodle soup, pretty good quality and at a good price. Will definitely be a regular on these cold evenings
I've come here numerous times and have always been satisfied with the quality of food. The pork pan fried dumplings and the pumpkin and red bean cake are fantastic. Would definitely recommend!
Great service, food was fast and tasty!! Great local place for a cheap eat. Really enjoyed the pan fried pork dumplings, seafood fried rice and also shanghai noodles. The noodles and dumplings are made freshly on the premises and are really delicious.
Spicy chicken noodle is super delicious. I would come back just for this dish. Their prawn pan fried dumplings are good too. The deep fried chives cake was a bit bland. Service is great, the owner is really friendly. Overall I would come back when I am in the area again.
Foods great fast service if you want a cheap meal get some people together and give it a try.
Really great food. A local for us and never disappointed. Always tasty and reasonable prices. They can get busy on weekends so need to give a bit more time for the food to be ready.

I hardly ever get the opportunity to eat dumplings so I was very excited to eat here. I was really impressed with the quality of food at Ramen & Dumpling House. The team are super friendly too. I almost gave 4-stars due to timeliness as it took a little longer than I would have liked, but the 5-stars really represents the food, team and general experience. Well done Ramen & Dumpling House
