I love shopping and direct factory outlets are great to get discounts and bargains. But I’ve actually never visited Spencer DFO hehe finally had the chance to visit the other day with a girlfriend and even though, we didn’t really get the chance to shop. We tried Potto a new store which specialises in delicious and healthy rice bowls, vermicelli bowls or salad bowls 😊 we tried their famous crispy pork which was delicious and also the grilled salmon which Japanese spicy mayo. Even though its suppose to be healthy, you know I couldn’t leave without some dessert the iced matcha latte and matcha crepe cake ❤️

Potto is located in a food court but I wouldn't let that cloud your judgement beacuse the place has some great bowls. Heaps of options for bowls all delicious. Protein was freshly cooked and added with a great sauce. What a great idea this place is. **Disclaimer: although the restaurant has generously invited me to their restaurant this review is still based on my genuine opinion.

This shop is easy to find in the Spencer Outlet Centre.

They have a range of healthy Potto Bowls w everything fro. Signature Crispy Pork to Thai or Japanese curries.

They also serve chicken or peel salads, toasted rolls, vermicelli & smaller starters such as rice paper rolls or pork dumplings. Yep pork is featured here.

They have dine in or takeaway and both were popular when I visited.

My choice was the signature crispy pork bowl, w seasonal greens, secret bbq sauce, an onsen egg, on white rice.

They use sustainable cutlery which is good.

The 36 hour crispy pork was absolutely amazing.it was soft and there was very little fat and crispy skin. Perfect.

The salad was really fresh, the sauce good but a bit sweet towards the end. And the egg was just poached and golden orange. It was delicious too.

Overall I really enjoyed this healthier option w the salad and the pork. And to be honest when it hit the table I thought oh the bowl is only half full but it was almost a struggle to finish it! Lol

Potto is definitely worth a visit if your in the area. And thanks to the owners for the invitation to visit their restaurant.

Really enjoyed the Thai red curry. Chicken was moist, but nice seared flavour to it. Great for lunch or quick dinner.
Definitely a good option here, would come back and would recommend.

Never think that just because a place is in a food court that it is not going to be good. Only a stones throw from Southern Cross Station and the DFO it is close to everything. Today I had lunch at Potto which does not promote itself as any particular style of Asian food and doesn’t pretend to be anything other than providing freshly prepared meals presented in a stylish and mouth-watering manner. I ordered the Signature Crispy Pork which is served with freshly cut vegetables like the carrot and red cabbage, nicely pickled with interesting tangy flavour plus an onsen egg all served on a bed of white rice that is ever so slightly sweet and sticky. The pork was tasty and had the slightest bit of crackling on each piece. The blend of textures and flavours was something else. My friend had the Crispy Pork Salad served within a circle of cucumber drizzled with a light dressing and toasted sesame sauce. The salad mixture of corn, Spanish onion, not too much fortunately, cabbage, carrot and edamame beans that lay under the pork made a lovely fresh bed to complement the meat.

Order at the counter and if eating in, take your number and wait for your food. Be aware that everything is cooked fresh on site so your meal may take up to 10 minutes which really is nothing for having a meal made to order.

There are also smaller meals such as rice paper rolls and dumplings. Refreshments available.

At $15.90 and $13.90 respectively for each meal that was a generous portion size, I won’t be eating dinner tonight.

Big tick is that they use bamboo cutlery not plastic and snapped a pic of their coffee stirrers and chopsticks also from bamboo. Packaging for takeaway is in boxes not polystyrene. Well done.

Lastly the service. Found everyone to be friendly and efficient.

Notes: suitable for vegetarians and vegans and those with dietary needs, you can dine inside the open-aired cafe or out the front at a table with high stools. Definitely wheelchair friendly, kid friendly, plus high chairs available. Takeaway available. Catering possibilities - just enquire.

Casual Japanese fusion eatery in Spencer Outlet.

My friend knows the owner, so our meal was on the house. The place was kind of cute and chill, despite being a part of the foodcourt. The dishes came out one by one but the wait wasn't too long, but not for those in rush.

Sampled a few dishes from their new menu.

The pork belly vermicelli was yummy. The pork itself surprised me as it was really crispy but so juicy, also well seasoned. I'd definitely recommend it (the owner's mom made it herself)! Vermicelli though was too overcooked so it did break in short pieces. Classic dressing and veggies completed the dish.

The chicken curry was another yummy dish. The curry was definitely one of the best I've had, which means even when it covers the rice, it didn't make them too flavorful that I'm just sick of it, instead they complemented the rice well, and not to mention they came with chunks of potatoes and carrots
Lastly we tried their pork dumplings. This one was quite good in a way that it contains soup inside and so it's juuuicy yet the dough is crispy. It would be better if it did have a tad bit more flavor to it though, and if it wasn't as oily (maybe pan-fry is a better option).

Overall quite a solid place for some yummy bowls, it's not as budget however but the quality justifies it.

Came here and had the seared salmon bowl. It was prepared in front of me and hand seared with a torch which was quite interested, and provided a nice Smokey flavour to the salmon. It was topped with a slightly sweet sauce and the perfect amount of chilli salt. Was delicious, will be back to try their specialty crispy pork bowls.

In my opinion the rice bowls is probably higher standard than Calia and Omi. The ingredients was fresh and vibrant, rice used was a good mix of multiple grains. Will come back more to try out the other bowls.

Love their pastries. Had their Portuguese tart before, and so came back to order takeaway today. Saw that they had the chocolate donut croissant, and decided to try it. It’s quite lovely if you love chocolate, donut and croissant combination!

Good coffee! The place is cute, love the decor. Expected to get coffee in a cup but for dine in too they gave it in a takeaway cup, probably due to COVID. The service staff is so friendly.

This crispy pork salad is super delicious, the sauce and fresh veggies go so well together… oh and the pork, the skin is so crunchy and the meat so moist, I am definitely going back for more.
