Was very impressed by this store. Everything was fresh, packed with care, thoughtfully prepared. Very neat and clean impression.
We ordered peking duck, with trepidition, but it was quite good. Better than Quanjude.
Will return to try their other dishes.

Legit taste like something a Chinese grandmother would make for you when you visit for Thanksgiving. Simple but effectively delicious. Grabbed Steamed/Pan-fried Dumplings, Spring Onion Pancake, and BBQ Pork Bun - after splitting with a friend, came out to be around $12 pp. Pretty cheap considering the portion.
One thing I really like about this place is that it's never TOO busy which means you will never need to wait outside. And unlike other dumpling places in Chinatown, it's quiet, peaceful, and clean (Y). As long as you don't expect something extraordinary, I'd say it's a decent place to visit. In fact, it's one of those places where you can visit multiple times because you simply know what you are getting into.
Reasonably priced dumplings 🥟 Juicy & the skin is not too thick. One me & my colleagues go-to places for lunch since we work just next door.

Stir fired eggplant and potato is my favorite dish in Grandma’s Dumpling . Good value for lunch, don’t missing ‘ free soft drink’
Come here for chef special which is really yummy. Since I don’t want too spicy so we order the double cooked pork which is different with Sichuan one, it’s taste with sweet & sour sauce and it crispy. The price of noodle is cheap, first time to try tomato and egg one, sooo special! Love it!
Dumplings as usual. Their dumplings are tasty and juicy. Tried the pork dumplings. I can said it is not the best but also not the worse. Their staff were friendly too. I had no problem communicate with them.

15 veggie dumplings for $9 (with a free soft drink 12pm-3pm)!!! Finding pocket friendly vegetarian dumplings that are yummy too can be a daunting task. This place checks all those boxes. It’s not a fancy place but it’s spacious and the staff is quick.

Lovely staff. Good place. Delicious food in budget. I am a regular customer here, grab lunch or dinner most of the times at this place. Like many before me and many after me, I agree that’s it’s annoying not being able to give a 0.5 rating to a place officially anymore.
I had some lunch here and I was excited to try grandmas dumplings! The service was really efficient as they managed the lunchtime crowd.
Initially I ordered the new addition to the menu which was minced chicken and prawn dumplings in a butter sauce. These golden dumplings were just delicious. Delicate parcels in a wonton wrapper, and a lovely light buttery sauce ... wow!

Then I ordered some Pork and chive fried dumplings. These traditional dumplings were much more dense but w a tasty pork and chive filling.
As I was eating by myself there were a lot of dumplings to get through and the chives had a strong flavour. They would be great if shared w someone else.
Overall they have some good lunch specials and this restaurant was quite busy, w a lot of people ordering the noodles oddly enough haha

Working in Lt Lonsdale st recently. Eat in at least three days a week. good Chinese food and best service around my working area. will back regularly.
Very friendly staff and their mackerel dumplings are highly recommended. Their food are generous in portions. They have big tables and would be suitable for dinner/lunch with many friends.
Great service, very friendly staff. Nice place hidden on the way to the Royal Exhibition Building area. We had the fish dumplings and the dried green beans as a side. Both were great!
Grandma's Dumpling seems to be a new addition to the group of eateries at the top end of Exhibition St. The interior featured bare brick walls and dark wooden tables and chairs. I visited with a vegetarian friend and we stuck to the dumpling and wonton section of the menu, which also features plenty of other options.
