A dog friendly cafe set up to raise awareness for people to consider adopting a greyhound once they have finished racing.

Whatever you think about greyhound racing, these cute AF dogs need furever homes once they've stopped racing.

You might get lucky and meet a grey! Greyhounds are so adorable.

I didn't stay long but I had a coffee. They use campos coffee which is one of my favorite beans.

This cafe rules. Great food and coffee. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Very dog friendly, and a great place to meet some greyhounds! There's lots of dog beds, drinking bowls, etc and a small pen to leave your dog in. If you are considering adopting a grey , it's a good place to meet some owners and there's an iPad station there to see some of the dogs up for adoption. Brought my dog Beanie boy here on the opening weekend and he loved meeting the other dogs!

COSY LITTLE CAFE ON BUSY KING STREET There should be more of these little cafes - they are a nice alternative to starbucks and Gloria Jeans. This one on King St has good coffee and friendly service. A couple of outdoor tables on King Street - which might be nice in the warmer weather.

Greyhounds and coffee, what more do you want in life? Whether you've got a grey of your own, or just want to pop in and hand out a few neck scratches, the Greyhound Cafe should sit at the top of your weekend to-do list. Especially if you're a dog lover. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and happy to be there! The coffee is as good as you'd get anywhere in Melb and the food is ok. It's not a big place and they don't have a kitchen. The staff you see running around are also cooking the food (on a hotplate type set up). I'm not saying the food wasn't good, I just assumed there'd be a kitchen with a chef. No biggie though, I came for the greys and the coffee. Everything else is just a bonus. For those that bring your greyhound along, they've got a separate toilet area for your noodle horse out back and even have a small enclosed kennel space if it starts to get a little too much. The cafe is not a big space and can get very full, very quick. So keep that in mind. GAP Vic also popped around and were available to answer questions which is super handy. I'd definitely give the cafe a follow on Instagram, they post some pretty greyt stuff. I'll be back for sure.

As a greyhound owner and fan this is a really special place to visit with your greyhound. Unlike your typical coffee shop it has been designed to accommodate greyhound visitors with lots of room, greyhound mats, water bowls and even a discreet patch of grass for toiletting. There was even a lovely GAP volunteer (with her dog) to make everybody feel welcome and answer any questions. There were about six other greyhounds there at the same time who were just chillaxing as they do so well. No aggression or bad manners. Highly recommended if you are a greyhound owner, or if you would like to know more about these gentle giants and meet some. If you don't like big dogs then there is a human only area at the front of the cafe.

Right next to the Flagstaff Gardens is a dog friendly cafe with a remarkable social priority: the adoption of ex racing greyhounds! There you can enjoy a delicious coffee while you know and Pat a greyhound 🐕.
