Ordered from menulog, got their family pack for 6 people, their butter chicken is good. For 6 people we still had so much left over def worth it
I've noticed this place is frequented by Indian people a lot which says a lot in and of it self....
The food is very flavoursome and very authentic ( so I'm told ) ( never been to India) the place is also low key and cozy for casual night out....
The definition of a hidden gem. Having last come here in the youth of my age, I remembered having my first ever Naan experience here and enjoying it very much. Today we return ready for some Indian cuisine and we were not disappointed.
Service here is unique in that you write down your orders and ring a bell for an attendee. The food here can be best described as authentic, homely and very flavoursome. Today we opted for the butter chicken, garlic and cheese naan, coconut rice and samosa Chaat. To start, the butter chicken is very unique in flavour, having a very crisp smoky barbecue flavouring. The chicken itself was very succulent and tender, complimented perfectly by the rich sauce and oil infused flavours. Definitely a very very delicious butter chicken. The naan breads were like just how I remembered. Tasty, oozing with flavour and went very well with the butter chicken. The Samosa Chaat was also one of the better ones we have had, with the yoghurt and sauces mixing well. The coconut rice was well, not coconut at all and more coconut sprinkled on top so it tasted more like saffron rice.
A very enjoyable indian Experience and definitely up there as one of our favourites. Come here for a HUGE value feed, great tasting Indian cuisine and overall authentic and homely experience!
Food: 4/5

Value: 5/5
Overall: 4/5
I eat here often and enjoy the food a lot. I am always in a que of people yo be served. The food is fresh and nice. Some days are better than others.
Sharmas is a hit and miss place. I've eaten here regularly since it opened so I know a few dishes they get bang on right. They are famous for their channa bhatura dish which will definitely put you into a food coma. I frequently enjoy their Indian street foods like mix chat and paneer pakoras. Seldom do they get that wrong. I wouldn't rate this place as bad as others have, it's not a proper sit down restaurant so I wouldn't expect much of a service either.
The best indian food in the western suburbs by far with spot on delivery, amazing packs for 2 and genuinely good food. butter chicken wasnt that tomato paste based sauce but a legit butter chicken, very hard to find around here
I could definitely say it has one of the best butter chicken I've had! Cheap and delicious
Best Indian food in the west!! Reminds of the dhabas in India. Don't expect fine dining service, but amazing food!
Good food. Food- gooood
service- non existent. not rude, just no one serves you eventhough its 'eat in' and takeaway restaurant
i walked in, no one greeted me, i sat down for 20minutes ish, no one served me, so i had to order my meal at the register. when the food came (speedy) no plates or cutleries were given so i asked for plates- so they went to give me plates but no cutleries, so i asked for cutleries ?? maybe they assumed i was going to eat with my hands, im not too sure =/
im not fuss just want to let you guys know service is informal
nevertheless food is good
the curries abit on the small serve end but still delicious
i enjoyed the samosa chat
the lamb briyani not so much- lamb too dry
plenty of sweets to choose from (they also sell the sweets by the kgs)
Sugar & Spice and all things Rice. Sharma's Indian Sweet & Curry House appears to have all bases covered with a menu that boasts over 120 items. In addition to the typical Northern dishes seen at most Indian eateries, there are also Indo-Chinese dishes, South Indian (weekends only) and a selection of Chat usually sold by Indian street vendors.
The premises itself is somewhat informal with a couple of prominent glass cabinets displaying an enticing variety of Indian sweets to enjoy after your meal or take home.
I'm not usually a huge fan of the various deep fried entrees, however the mixed platter we ordered entitled "Atish Bahaar Sizzler" ($15.99) was an impressive looking plate and despite being deep fried was not the least bit oily. The platter included two pieces each of samosa, aloo tikki, vegetable pakora and onion bhaji.
I wasn't ecstatic about the "Singapore Panjabi Noodles" but some of my dining companions thought it was an agreeable dish they'd happily order again.
The curries ordered included the "Tava Chicken" and "Butter Chicken" which were both enjoyable, though the "Goat Curry" in particular seemed to be the pick of the bunch. Whilst the curries aren't enormous, it's hard to complain too loudly when they're priced at around $12 a serve.
The accompanying saffron rice was great and the naan bread was light and flaky, making it one of the better versions I've tried.
Service was warm & proficient and exceeded what I often encounter at many similar eateries, it's just a shame I don't live closer as I'd visit more regularly.
Chicken tikka marsala. Being new to indian food, i tried the tikka
and loved it. will go back and try something new. friendly staff!!!
We had lunch here and it was very pleasant. The sweets on Saturdays is very fresh and tasty. Take away was bad. The tandoori chicken was dry and lacked flavour. We had a eggplant curry which wasnt good. The kadai chicken was ok. I highly recommend the cholley bhature if u want a heavy meal for lunch. It's so yum!! And cheap too. I heard the goat curry is really good here by someone who also went there for lunch. So maybe if u want to give there place a go - go for lunch. Maybe food is made with more love during that time and rushed in evenings. I think it's v popular with locals.
Been a while and happy to say that the place is still great. Excellent tandoori chicken and paneer, prices are good, servings are generous and staff are friendly. We came all the way from Southbank because we know good Indian food.
Highly Recommended!!!
Was introduced by my friend. All the sweets are really delicious. Friendly staff. You get to taste as well before you buy. You can also pre-order. 👌❤
Good north indian food and snacks. Great staff and customer service is top notch. The resto is not maintained so keep your expectations low because they get more take away orders than dine in customers. The owner who is the chef is a very good guy and looks after his customers. Anyone missing the north indian taste can satisfy their taste at Sharma's.
