A hidden gem! The decor is so cute and the menu has a variety of fried foods and desserts. Perfect place to chill out with friends and have a cocktail or two at the same time.
Sweetie and Moustache Dessert Lounge and Bar is a quirky lounge and rooftop bar dedicated to all things sweet.
There are also savoury snacks that you can enjoy with your tipple but the real heroes are the amazing dessert options.
Whatever you do, do not go past the crepe cakes which feature numerous delicate layers of crepe and cream. The taro and durian crepe cakes that we tried were both amazing.
We also adored the nutty banana bubble waffles. Think hot fluffy waffles topped with peanut butter, fresh sliced banana, walnuts, salted caramel, mascarpone and maple syrup – Just yum!
On the drinks front, there are plenty to choose from. Expect theatrical cocktails, a selection of refreshing soju as well all the usual suspects for those that aren’t so adventurous.
Such a cute restaurant, perfect spot for instagram photos. Felt as if you weren’t in the city such a calming spot. Desserts were to die for !!!! Can’t go wrong with any selection !! Drinks were very tasty too overall their menu is delicious!

Desserts are usually my favourite meal for the day.Had the ginger pale ale and a petite lychee watermelon cake.The cake was light and refreshing,if only it had been bigger it would be perfect.

We recently popped in to Sweetie and Moustache to try their new souffle pancakes. This seems to be one of the new dessert trends hitting Melbourne, and I was intrigued to try them. I have been here before, as it's open late and is a cool spot for a late night dessert. On this occasion we came mid afternoon, and started with coffee. The cups are very cute, with their moustache motif, but the coffee itself was just OK.
We took some time to take in the decor. It's quite dark inside, as there isn't a lot of natural light, but the decor itself is cute. The tables however are quite close together, and it can get noisy when it's busy. The staff were lovely, and our food and coffees arrived promptly.
We started with the chicken bao, which surprisingly came in a deep fried bao bun. The chicken was juicy and tasty, and the fried buns were really yummy, but the buns were really big and in the end, I couldn't eat it all as the bun to chicken ratio was unbalanced. I think it was just too much fried food with not enough fresh vegetables to help break it up. If they were smaller I think it would have been great.
Now onto the pancakes... the real reason we were here. Three huge and fluffy pancakes, stacked and topped with custard, chocolate, marshmallow, bruleed banana and fresh berries. I really enjoyed these as they were light as a feather and so different to the standard pancakes found elsewhere. The texture was amazing, and they soaked up the flavours of all the accompanients. I couldn't fault them at all.
Sweetie and Moustache is a good spot for some Asian inspired desserts, and is quite popular, especially on a weekend night. The roof top is a nice spot for a cocktail when the weather is good, and I've always found the service to be good, and the staff pleasant. I enjoy their desserts and it's always a good choice for that late night sweet fix.
Cute and small place. Food presented well and it’s delicious. Gets really packed and not enough space. But it’s good for Instagram foodies. Defiantly recommend for desserts
Where do you go for drinks after work or after dinner? Wine bar? Pub or Sweetie and Moustache. It’s the cutest spot for when you want cake, cocktails and now they recently released soufflé pancakes. Much fluffier than regular pancakes thanks to egg whites :) I’ve always liked the ones you find in Japan but it’s very hard to make at home and I have definitely failed at home. I think the soufflé pancake with strawberry cream with fresh strawberries and maple syrup was my pick!
Salted egg fries - crunchy, slightly salty and soo delicious! Their club sandwiches and cakes are pretty nice too!
I've tried the durian, matcha and oreo. It was a crepe layer version cake.
Sweetie & Moustache is hidden upstairs above Russell street and is the perfect spot for a late night treat. They offer a range of desserts and crepe cakes! The creme brûlée’s are surprisingly good and they make a great hot chocolate. I highly recommend the watermelon crepe cake as well! Something different but so delicious!

Its probably not perfect. But It's a really bautiful place. Not crowded, but the place and ambience is cozy. It's a very nice rooftop bar. Kinda like and alice in wonderland vibes.

I was lucky to be invited to try the extravagant desserts from Sweetie & Moustache Dessert Lounge. It’s a small and cute eatery located on the busy Russell Street. Sweetie, the dessert lounge, is on Level 3, whereas Mr Moustache, the rooftop bar, is on Level 4. We dined at Sweetie on this occasion.
They have a great range of Le Mille Creperie crepe cakes (my favourite!) and extraordinary drinks and cocktails which you can order before the main kitchen opens at 5. We decided to get a Lychee Watermelon and a Rocher crepe cake, and a Chocolate Moustache. The crepe cakes are as good as ever, as always, and the Chocolate Moustache was a very cute and amusing take on hot chocolate!
After our little starters, we went for the Matcha Lava Toast, Nutella Bros Honey Toast, and the Lobster Roll.
Both of the toast dishes were spectacular! The bread is toasted well and so crunchy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. It’s also very light so it doesn’t make you feel weighed down either! The Matcha Lava Toast is such a unique experience and it’s so fun to cut into it and watch the lava ooze out! The Honey Toast is huge, stacked tall and looks stunning! The bread loaf is actually hollowed out and cut into cubes which makes it easier to eat. The best part of this was the edges of the bread which were extra crispy and delicious!
The Lobster Roll was a decent size, and came with a side of super crunchy chips and a mayo-like dip. The roll had a hint of cinnamon to it which was very unique - unlike any lobster roll I’d ever tasted! The chips were very addictive and I could eat a ton of those!
Also, you can’t leave without trying their novelty dessert cocktails, which are seriously a show-stopper! I got a Lemon Pie cocktail which was insane - coming with the hugest topping of torched meringue, and had a pleasant lemon-y tartness. The blue lychee cocktail came with the hugest torched marshmallow too.
The venue is cosy and the vintage furniture and decorations give a cute vibe. The counter is located at the end of the corridor, where the staff usually stay. It’s a great place to try amazing novelty desserts and drinks (and the only place I know of that sells Honey Toast!).
Really enjoyed the new menu at Sweetie & Moustache! Especially the matcha lava toast. A must order if you’re in! The crazy flavours of spring rolls was an excellent twist too

Hidden upstairs on the busy streets of Russell, Sweetie & Moustache Dessert Lounge sells a wide array of desserts which is a sweet tooth’s (like myself) dream come true!
Nutella bros - crispy honey toast cubes served with fresh bananas, strawberries, custard, vanilla cream, Nutella and chocolate ganache! Which sweet tooth would not want this? The combination is good however the insides of the toast cubes were plain and was a bit dry towards the end!
Nutty banana - peanut butter filled toasts served with fresh sliced bananas, walnuts, salted caramel and maple syrup! Again another sweet choice! This was pretty good overall but I felt there was nothing special about this to make it stand out.
Matcha ice cream hk waffle - as the name suggests, this was an egg waffle served with matcha ice cream, red beans and strawberries! What I liked about this was how simple and tasty it was especially with the red bean which I rarely see being used in cafes! The sweetness was just right for me and the egg waffle was so fluffy making it my favorite dish for the day! 💚
Red bean tea-ramisu cake - the crepe cake was so very fresh and you could taste both the green tea and red bean flavor which made the experience even better! Cake was smooth and it melts in your mouth!
Thick shakes - we had ordered the matcha and chocolate thick shakes and both were pretty good! You could tell that it was the real deal as you could taste each flavor and it was truly thick!
Overall, Sweetie and Moustache has delivered yummy sweet treats to us and we would visit again to try the rest of their treats! 😍

We were invited back into Sweetie and moustache to check out their rooftop offering which is perfect for summer- Mr Moustache. This is a great little function area too with seating available both undercover or out in the sunlight. Remembering the delicious chips from our original visit we had to get those again but this time accompanied by the stupendous gum ball cocktail. This thing was made for Instagram!
Takoyaki, ramen burrito and a Mac and cheese stack with onion rings. The dishes are creative, visually stunning and the perfect accompaniment to cocktails. Great little spot

I was delighted to host a blogger event last at the lovely Sweetie and Moustache which combines the two great loves of my life, desserts and cocktails. The interior is charming and quaint and the offerings varied. I enjoyed the fact that there was something for everyone as often these sorts of venues only cater the more traditional flavours such as red bean, matcha, durian etc but there was plenty of chocolate to keep me happy as well as savoury options to line the stomach.
We kicked off with a dessert cocktail combining the best of both worlds and I opted for the lemon meringue. Topped with yummy torched meringue it was an impressive sight. Others consumed the visually striking Tiramisu as well as the chocolate mousse. If your the designated driver there’s also a range of mocktails available.
We began the feast with an array of their famous crepe cakes. We tried lychee watermelon, vanilla caramel, rocher and Oreo peanuts. My favourite was definitely Oreo peanut the flavours were delicious and all the individual layers looked beautiful. We then progressed to savouries and I have to say for a dessert bar they make fantastic beer battered chips!
The fisherman’s basket is a great sharing dish for a group with lots of different options. We then went straight back to sweets again trying the chocolate strawberry banana crepe, the matcha waffle and the very impressive looking honey toast tower.
The ultimate sweet treat for me was the decadent ferrero volcano. Rich and chocolatey this would be my pick for the evening. A very close second is the super refreshing mango tango which is a lovely light pana cotta style dish served in a glass. Very fruity and super summery. Open until 2am every night this is definitely the place to be when you are craving a sugar hit

What a great little cocktail bar. A unique take on the cocktails with different flavours and combinations. Cute little rooftop bar. Cocktails took a while to be served but were well presented and tasted the part in the end.
This cafe is quite small and can be difficult to find. You may have to wait outside for the next available table if you visit during a busy period.
Otherwise, the decorations are cute and food was well made. Would recommend.
不黑不吹，这家店绝对是Chinatown附近100里最好的姐妹下午茶去处（约会也是可以滴）。唯一的缺点就是太隐蔽不容易被发现，是在Russell st上一个电梯上去3楼。店不是很大，但环境不错，靠窗的位置上次去被占了，伐开心。
我跟我妹子两个人点了一个面包诱惑，一个焦糖千层（抹茶榴莲的卖完了！rude！)，还有一杯蜂蜜果茶。味道棒棒哒！真想每种蛋糕都来一份，可我的体重不允许我这样做🙄

Sweetie and Moustache Dessert Lounge and Bar is a double storey lounge with rooftop bar where you can relax yourself and enjoy the goodness of desserts in the heart of Melbourne's CBD.
They also serve up the best crepe cakes in town! with their Signature Mille Crepe Cakes available in more than 12 flavours.
They also provide other kinds of desserts like rock-melon bowels and sweet dog rolls . Their roof top bar provides general bar foods and cocktails to the public.
Our favorite is their famous lobster roll with truffle oil chips and onion ring stack which comes with mac'n'cheese doughnut and pineapple fritter
Friends brought this beautiful crepe cake for dinner at our place. While it might look like a simple cake, the multiple layers of crepes separated by various flavoured creams tasted superb. We must visit their shop in the city very soon!
What a treat! Literally and metaphorically. This tucked away place upstairs escapes the hectic traffic of below to escape into a sweet world of desserts.
If you need a serious sugar hit, then this is a good place to go.
I visited Mr Moustache (the rooftop bar section of Sweetie and Moustache) at an event when it first opened, and I thought it was absolutely adorable! I love the swinging cocoon chairs outside and the greenery. Such as great central location in the CBD. I love that there are savoury food options, such as little antipasto platters, truffle cheese sandwich, and mi goreng wraps. YUM! They balance out the beautiful sweet cocktails perfectly. So much theatre in the cocktails - I especially love the one that looks like a little fish bowl! Couldn't get enough. I'll be returning here soon to try the amaaazing looking easter cocktail!!
Service was friendly and promt. Decor was pretty. Was quiet when visited so it was peaceful for conversations. Love the Pomegranate juice. The toast is suitable for 2 - 3 people. Definitely returning to try the other sweets.
I went to the opening of Mr Moustache, the rooftop bar attached to Sweetie & Moustache and it was such a cute little rooftop. It has sort of a homely feel, with bug table and couches and a cute little terrace that is like a little oasis in the middle of the cbd. I highly recommend the Mee Goreng Burrito (I hope I got that right!), the truffle cheese sandwich and the Lobster roll. So yumm! If giant, fish bowl cocktails are your thing, you’ll find these too. A nice place to hang out for some drinks 👍🏻

They have a massive range of dessert to choose from.
We sampled the rock melon icy ice, Hong kong egg waffles, summer pudding and tiramisu cocktail.
The egg waffles was really good and was our favourite dish here. The rock melon icy ice wasn't too bad.
There is still room for improvement for the summer pudding though, the texture was a little bit weird to us.
Overall, the experience we had here was a good one.

I was lucky enough to host a foodie event at this CBD hidden dessert cafe. The entrance is marked by a life size nutcracker which gives a little taste of what you'll find inside. The decor has a British pub feel with dark wood and leather chesterfields, and there is a quirky collection of Christmas nutcrackers displayed around the cafe.
The menu is overwhelming, a huge list of both desserts and savory items plus a selection of teas and cocktails. We ordered a selection of cakes, desserts and cocktails, plus a club sandwich and fisherman's basket to share.
Unfortunately the seafood was a bit over cooked but the chips were amazing, & possibly the highlight for me.
The mille crepe cakes were light and fluffy with a plethora of flavours to choose from. The desserts were all beautifully presented but lacked a little bit of substance where taste was concerned. The prices are quite high but the portions are HUGE so it's a great place to go with friends and try a few different things to share.
The cocktails are based on your favorite desserts like chocolate mousse and tirimsu - they're tasty and really pack a punch!

I had the pleasure of attending a foodie event, on the last day of my holidays, at the new desert/cocktail bar in Melbourne - Sweetie & Moustache. This place boasts an absolutely mammoth menu with a combination of cakes, deserts, main meals, cocktails and mocktails. It was very hard to choose when there were so many options. I was not expecting dishes like the club sandwich, chicken burger and fisherman's basket to be on there.
I ordered my favourite cocktail, a Pina Colada, and a slice of the watermelon & lychee crepe cake - one of their best sellers. We also ordered a collection of items to share - the club sandwich, fisherman's basket, Nutella Bros french toast, Fruit Paradise, Strawberry danish stack and the Rockmelon dessert. We also ordered some of the dessert cocktails - Lemon Pie & Tiramisu. These were very alcoholic, but tasted great!
The crepe-cake slices are the same as what is being served at Le Mille Creperie in Chadstone. Delicate, fluffy cakes formed by stacking crepes, cream and fruit. The caramel one tasted fantastic, but the one I ordered had a real slice of watermelon in it, which I was not expecting, and took away from the delicate nature of the cake.
The savoury dishes were lovely, considering they were served at a desert bar. The club sandwich had a great tasting mayo in it and the fries were lovely and thick. The Fisherman's basket tasted good too, but was not very photogenic - too much baking paper.
The two toast dishes - the Nutella Bros and Fruit Paradise were super photogenic and were absolutely huge! They both came with a cream or sauce to drizzle over the top and a generous dollop of ice cream on top. The downside of these dishes is that they were $18 for what was pretty much half a loaf of bread. The inside hollowed out and toasted and the shell of the loaf used as the base of the dish. The flavours were nice though.
The strawberry danish stack looked beautiful, but was difficult to eat. Like a burger with too many fillings, as soon as you cut in to it, everything slid away from you. The pastry was super flaky and each layer had a different fruit - strawberry, banana and kiwi fruit.
Sweetie & Moustache is a very unique venue, with a huge menu and cool "British" vibe. They are also opening a rooftop bar, so will be very popular for late night drinks & snacks. The dishes are a wee bit pricy and very large, so make sure to share with a mate :)
There is no shortage of desserts at Sweetie and moustache. This dessert bar in the city has a large selection of sweets including crepe cakes, Hong Kong waffles, pavlova, chocolate fondant, ice-cream, French toast, you name it. It’s likely you’ll walk out of there with a sugar high and a smile on your face.
