I came by last night after a night out of the club.
The souvlaki restaurant is small but the food is great!
My souvlaki wrap came out really quick and we lucky got a spot on the table.
However, my souvlaki was nice - it was a bit dry and I needed to keep drinking my drink. It needed a bit more lettuce , tomato or tzatziki in it for the perfect balance.
Loved their mixed lamb & chicken souvlaki! Flavors are on point and the drizzle of the tzatziki throughout is perfection. The thickness and texture of the pita bread is just right - not overly dense that it's dry or tough and not overly light that it gets soft or soggy easily. Portion is huge as I can divide it up and have it for two meals. Price isn't too bad for the amount you get.
This place has great mouth watering flavours. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I had the family platter and expected it to be huge because I was very hungry but was quite disappointed by the size. Everything was fit onto a medium size square plate with a few dips In plastic containers. The place doesn't look appealing from the outside and it looks like fast food. For $39 I expected the portion size to be double of what I got. I will come back of course. overall it was a tasty experience.
Oh if these walls could talk....I'm sure they could tell a few stories. Located in the always 'interesting' King Street the souvlaki's are good. Lamb is good quality and comes with plenty of fillers.
Oh wow, the lamb souvlaki was so full of flavour, I would have gone back for one more if I wasn't full. It was located right next to my hotel so happened to be the first place I stopped at. I highly rate grabbing a bite here. Plus they serve alcohol!
Best Souvlaki in Melbourne....and Greece!!. I'm not a frequent reviewer, but I must give credit when deserved! King Jon's make the best souvlaki I've had ever had. I've been regular customer of King Jon's for the last 6 years, who may I say, have had the same owners since then. The owners Nick and Helen are just lovely. Always happy to have a chat! Cant recommend this place enough!!
Quality souvlaki. I'm always, always hesitant to order a souvlaki with meat from the spit where they shave it (I generally order meat skewered and grilled instead) but having read the urbanspoon reviews and seen the meat which looked well cooked and, well, hygienic, I decided to give it a go.
Yummy! I chose lamb and it was crunchy and tender at the same time. It was huge and I didn't need dinner that night.
This is the place where you can go and enjoy a kebab without the risk of food poisoning. Enjoy!
Souvlaki!. Although named after Robin Hood's archrival, King John does make a mean Souvlaki. I go there every week and I always get the Lamb Souvlaki with garlic sauce, cheese and tabouli.
Greek coffee!. They have/serve greek coffee, and it is great!
The best part of going out on king street is getting a lamb kebab from the couple that own this place on the way home. Best kebab ever.
Dear King Jon’s,
I had the best HSP ever!

it reminds me of my friends who live in England who work in HSP bars!!!!!
