Fress is a charming cafe frequented by the local community. You can order from the menu or a delicious selection of sandwiches, salads, tarts and other treats from the cabinet. I particularly like the daily specials. My current fave is the Healthy Goat. Toast with a generous serve of avo, fried mushrooms, rocket and feta topped with a perfectly poached egg, dressed with balsamic glaze and tahini. Coffees and fresh juices are great. Muffins made fresh every day.

Perfect type of cafe - huge variety of lovely foods, good coffee, exceptional service and gorgeous crockery.
Highly recommended. Great food and friendly service. We bring our kids here regularly, love the shakshuka! If with kids they have a great kids menu.
The variety of salads are excellent. My favourite is the smashed avo on grain toast and my wife's friend likes the cauliflower or pumpkin tarts. I like the mixture of salads and the ability to have a few on one plate. It is a good also option for take away food. I would suggest a worthy inclusion for a non fancy lunch.
The cafe is in a nice spot.
One of the best Shakshuka I've ever tried, great coffee, nice ambience and good service.
What else can you ask for?
Will be back, for sure.
After a few visits this became one of our favorite breakfast places. Great service, and food quality of a fine dining restaurant. Highly recommend cosy court yard.
Very nice cafe with friendly staff.
Ordered two coffees and two soups. The coffees were well made, perfect temperature. The soups were pretty good as well! Very good for a midweek no stress lunch.
Have eaten at Fress before but never reviewed. My lunch was yummy! Asian chicken patty with a side of hokien noodle chicken salad. Coffee was lovely.
Miss 8 had challah french toast with icecream. We ordered her a mango smoothy but it only tasted of orange, the only negative of our visit. We will be back.
The best smashed avo for miles. Always keep coming back to this place for the reliable good food and good coffee, and they always have the newspaper handy.
One of the best local cafes in Caulfield! Great food, always fresh and cooked daily! I have my coffee every morning, always there , ready and hot, the stuff is sooo friendly and nice, and to top it off, the best shakshuka I've had!!!!!😋😋😋😋😋😋
Love this place. Such a great local cafe. None of this hipster vibe just good food, good coffee and friendly staff. Their long blacks are 👌🏽 and even better they have a coffee card!!!! Every long black I have had as been awesome. I ordered the roast pumpkin on toast. This was a great vegetarian option. The pumpkin was seasoned well and their was plenty of spinach. Loves the crumble of feta and seeds on top. Don't forget they have an array of delicious salads in their cabinet. It's eye catching and hard not to look. My daughter and I alway love visiting and can't wait to come back for more.
Food: delightful.
Waitress & staff: pleasant.
Location: Primarily Residential.
Due to its location, the experience as a whole is brought down slightly.
I would consider this cafe fantastic for dog-owners & lovers, who are taking a walk through the neighbourhood. It's a very high dog pedestrian traffic zone, which could be a distracting experience for the non-dog-loving types.
In saying that, the food is fantastic, and the milkshakes are INCREDIBLE. We tried both the caramel and the strawberry, and not only beautifully presented in a vintage glass milk bottle with the syrup visibly drizzled along the inside, the taste was exceptional, texture thick, but not too thick .. just right !! 👌
For late brunch we order from the breakfast menu, conveniently served all day. Pumpkin, feta, & wilted spinach on multigrain toast with a poached egg - and an avocado & feta smash with tomato, bacon, toast and a side order of beans. A uniquely flavoured savoury dish, surprisingly complimentary to the meal.
To mention the "green banana" smoothie; I cannot confirm what exactly made it green, (thinking more spinach or kale than avocado based on the texture, I had perhaps wrongly assumed it would have been avocado) and it leant more towards a juice than a smoothie. Prominent banana notes, but not overbearing. When ordered, the waitress had to check my order as she wasn't sure what it was .. "is that on the menu?" She asked. "Yes," I confirmed; pointing to the "Green Banana" option under smoothies. Admittedly, there are no ingredients itemised under any smoothie variable mentioned to support the decision making process. Perhaps, it is the rarest smoothie of them all.
Coming to fress is like coming to your parents house to eat. Nothing is too much trouble, there's always an abundance of fresh delicious food, friendly staff at a convenient location. Nothing quite like it in the area and the shakshuka is a MUST HAVE.
Fress cafe ...... a fabulous place to come for coffee n food with your friends n family.. great environment, friendly staff.... reasonable price ....Great variety of salads. I tried shakshuka at other places also but having shakshuka at fress cafe is the most amazing. Soups are also delicious . Highly recommended .
Fress cafe Is always good! Been here many many times and really love this place, produced great food, excellent service. Prices are reasonable and staff very helpful.
Hands down the best BLT with crispy bacon I have ever had, and maybe I have not lived but the bacon was spot on and turkish bread light. Perfection!!!
Absolutely fantastic experience. My sister and I both ordered the Shakshuka today - mine just normal, hers with mushrooms and the eggs well done. The food was incredible and delicious. The mix of flavors worked so well together, and the Turkish bread on the side was light, fluffy, and fresh. It was so good that, despite being full, I still wanted to pick at my sisters food once mine was gone just so I could have more. The mushrooms added a nice flavor to it, but I personally preferred the plain.
The soy latte and caramel milkshakes were super good, too. I also spotted a Oreo Brownie on my way out and had to get one to go. While a bit crumblier than I would have thought, it was absolutely scrumptious... When I did get around to eating it; I was still too full from lunch and didn't eat it for a couple of hours.
Customer service was also great; warm, welcoming staff, and a great atmosphere.
All in all, a pleasurable experience, and great prices.
Great drinks Amazing coffee Food was really amazing

We had breakfast and lunch a few times at Fress. Nice, very small cafe with a cosy backyard. Food is simple but tasty. Service is very friendly. Reasonably priced. Sometimes a bit noisy.

Great funky easy cafe with excellent service. Good coffee and hot chocolate and lovely breakfast. I had the brekky bruschetta and it was fresh, delicious, generously proportioned, affordable and very quick to come from the kitchen!
Delicious. Just had the morning Salad & a coffee faultless.Servise with a smile, I'll be back.
by Little Eats Image and words provided by Littleeats.com.au Fress is a busy little café in the heart of Caulfield South. It’s surprisingly hard to find a good brekky spot in Caulfield. Fress brings a great Israeli influenced menu to the area, yummy strong coffee and of course welcomes the little tackers too. You can choose to take some of the fresh salads and delish coffee home or even to the huge Princes Park, which is a short stroll down the road. The must try dishes at Fress are the Shashuka or detox salad with ginger. It does get busy here especially on a weekend but the tables turn over quickly and the staff are so helpful and friendly so I’ve never have a problem waiting a 10 minutes or so. A smooth coffee, a zingy green juice and a mouth watering avocado smash for breaky. A combo of delish salads to takeaway for lunch. Fress is my go to cafe for all things yummy. Always served with a smile. Love it!
Amazing food. Salads delicious. My husband had shakshuka - he said it's the best he's ever had.... Ever!
Very friendly service. Buzzing warm vibe. Can't wait to go back. I think it's my new favourite cafe.
Great selection of fresh healthy food for any day and any mood. I drive here especially for the Kale and Corn salad (it's a must try) and love the Cauliflower pie closely followed by the stuffed Eggplants (yum!) all with generous sizes. Never disappointed by the coffee and staff are great to talk to :)
Amazing tast fresh clean amazing food!!
Great service. Great menu and delicious food at a reasonable price. The chicken soup was home made and really tasty. My kids loved the schnitzel and my wife enjoyed the quinoa salad.
Love the shukshuka especially with feta crumbled over the top. Great chai lattes, delicious salads
Takeaway favorite. This is where i go when i dont want to cook. My kids eat lasagnes, soups and every possible dish from this cafe. I meet friends here regularly the food is fresh, tasty, healthy and yummy. They have excellent salads and the best shousaka in town. They could do with adding some new dishes for regulars though
Hearty & Wholesome. Yummo. Great value eating with my little tikes. The tables are fun & quirky & a great talking point. Coffee is great. Friendly, welcoming service. Nice & cool on this horrible Melbourne day. Perfect eggs. They were so round that I could have swung my golf club at them. How refreshing to dine somewhere so simple & unassuming. I'll be back.
Buzzing relaxing atmosphere - great service, food and coffee. What a great place to stop and grab a coffee in the morning and sit down and have a delicious meal. The staff are friendly, excellent service and the coffee is perfect!
I love the brekky menu - the avocado fetta mash and all the salads are my favourites. A nice combination of a buzzing and relaxing atmosphere, I would defintely recommend going there!
Amazing honest food. The coffee is fantastic. The best place in the area for quick bite or business lunch.
Great food, lovely service. Coffee was excellent. I had a soy coffee and they use Bonsoy - gotta love that!
The avocado / feta on toast was amazing - I would order that again. Fruit salad was also fresh and cleansing.
This is a great little cafe away from the main drag. Worth going to if ours in the area.
Staff were wonderfully attentive
Great coffee!! Great salads!! Little on the expensive side for a takeaway salad.
Fress. The coffee is good, the food, fresh and tasty and the service is always friendly and efficient. Love the vibe of the place. Surprising buzz for a place off the main strip.
Love the Smashed Avo and the mushroom ragout.
I'm loathe to share this.... ...because it's hard enough to get in when I want to, but this cafe is really fabulous.
I've been there a couple of times and had wonderful meals each time. The mushroom ragout with feta and poached egg served in a terracotta dish, with a side of toast is truly delicious.
Don't order the fritters, go the smash avo!. I ordered the fritters with a side of salmon and my partner in crime ordered the smashed avocado with a side of bacon. I'm a self appointed fritters expert and they were very doughy and not cooked through. Disappointing as it was a decent side of salmon. The smashed avocado was amazing! Very tasty and huge serving, only need to order half size which you can do. Coffee ok nothing special. If it was not for the smash I could have disliked it. Tip don't order the fritters!
Fress Care. The food and service at Fress is always impeccable whether it be eat in or take away. The take-away options are just about the best in the area. The spinach and ricotta slices are first class as are all the salads. My favourites are the quinoa, Asian chicken and detox.
I usually can't stand healthy food, BUT - the "detox salad" with ginger is the tastiest salad I've ever had! Would highly recommend!
Great coffee by Itai the barista. Always a good salad range and friendly staff. Good food!!
Consistantly great!. We dine here for Breakfast and lunch on a regular basis simply because it's ALWAYS great! Love the friendly staff, they remember my coffee order and our brekkie order before school. If I'm in a hurry they are so quick, The food is fantastic value and always delicious. It really ticks all my boxes for a well priced cafe with great food. Obviously others think the same as it's always busy and I worry sometimes I'll not get a table. Very generous with their coffee loyalty card too. Please never sell!
We had the pleasure of dining here for lunch today. What an absolute pleasure! The shakshuka is to die for. The schnitzel sandwich was delicious and the coffee was incredible! There needs to be more cafes like this around. Strongly recommend this place for a great feed at exceptional value And all with smiles from The staff. Couldn't ask for more. This will now be our regular lunch spot.
The muffins are amazing. Always greeted by friendly staff. The food is lovely.
Consistently good coffee. Great food. Try the Shashuka!
Best Shakshuka in Australia by far! Great coffee, fresh salads, Friendly staff and well priced. What more can you ask for?
Shakshuka anyone?. Best shashuka in Melbourne by far!!!!!
I wish this was my local cafe. We loved it here. It’s a plain and minimalist set up inside, and frankly I found that so refreshing. We adored our dishes. I had the porridge which is a work of art. It looks magnificent and it tastes sublime. It’s a terrific size here. My family members really loved their dishes too, including the eggs benedict and the chicken and avocado focaccia. To top everything off, we had gorgeous friendly service which added to the delightful experience.
They're so nice and friendly here and the coffee is consistently great. We walk a bit further than our local now, as we enjoy the service so much. Food speaks for itself too.

Good breakfast, had Fress Mushrooms on toast, a good poached egg on sourdough. Trimmings were nice as were the coffee serves.
This cafe is fantastic. I tried the salad on display and it was beautiful.
Highly recommended to try their main menu and salad on the side. You’ll be pleased 😘
Delicious, fresh and friendly. Very cozy neighborhood cafe serving tasty salads and good coffee. Consistently good food and service.
Hands down the best shakshuka in Melbourne. The smashed avo is also second to none. Delicious food and great, friendly vibes.
Amazing food and great service. The host is so lovely and friendly. Totally a local gem.
Delicious food and good vegan options! I have the smashed avo and a chai latte and was very pleased!
