• Sticky • Moss • Ok.. so I know what you’re thinking and yes I really am posting about avocado on toast, but is it really JUST avocado and toast?? Come on, there’s an art to it, and this ladies and gentlemen is the final product you WANT to have. And if you’ve past the avo stage, definitely try the smashed pumpkin and za’atar, get a coffee while you’re there too, you won’t be left disappointed. Friendly staff, with standard prices. Definitely give it a go! #foodblogger #foodporn #avocado #food #brunch #breakfast

The platters were tasty and well presented 🙌🏼 the vibe and feel of the cafe was quirky. The staff are amazing and very friendly. Great little spot to hang out and to smoke some shisha.

Multiple people have been recommending me to go to Sticky Moss, so this morning I finally rang a friend, met up in town, and grabbed the tram, which stops you just a few meters away from the café.

As soon as you enter, the owner greets you with the biggest smile and welcomes you to take a seat. You can sit on the street (and feel the hustle and bustle of Sydney Road), inside (there’s a great long bar by the window, ideal for people-watching, or at the back (in a serene courtyard).

The interior is simply gorgeous and quirky!

We ordered a couple of coffees, I decided to try the Big Brekki and my friend got a Chicken Burger with a side of Sujuk.

The coffees arrived very quickly and were nice and strong. As we were waiting, a couple of ladies popped their heads in and just said, “Thank you so much - this was the best coffee we’ve ever had!”

The owner disappeared at the back and another girl was serving customers.

Minutes later, the food, which one could only describe as a Feast, was arriving at our table. I asked the owner if she made it and, with a smile, she replied that she prepares absolutely everything herself and she absolutely loves doing it.

We truly felt like guests in her own home - real Turkish hospitality right there.

The Big Brekki arrives served on a board and, separately, in a skillet. On the board, I had Turkish Bread, Bagel, Tomato, Cucumber, Olives, Feta, Honey & Butter and Grape Molasses with Tahini. In the skillet - Baked Turkish Eggs with Sujuk.

What A Treat!! The Sujuk was nice and spicy. The spiciness was cut through by the fresh cucumbers and tomatoes. The honey & butter offered welcomed sweetness, and the cherry on top was that grape molasses with tahini, which I was spreading on top of my bagel. You get sweet, salty, spicy... There’s a party in your mouth. And, once you’ve devoured it all... you get to finish it off with the couple of pieces of halva. I truly don’t think that there’s another place in Melbourne offering anything like it.

Now the burger - it arrives with a massive breast of chicken and a large slice of pineapple. I didn’t taste it, but my friend scoffed it down so quickly. I tried the fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Man, I know I waited a long time, but boy was it worth it!! I rarely praise a place like this, but Sticky Moss is worth it! One must experience it to believe it!!

Can’t wait till I go back for more!!

Nice setting, friendly staff and tasty bread - definitely can recommend the haloumi bread and my other half also enjoyed the olive bread. We've been a bit spoilt for coffee in Melbourne though, so unfortunately this wasn't great. Had a long black and needed a bit of sugar which I don't normally

Cosy atmosphere. Coffee was excellent but the bacon and egg toastie was absolutely the standout! Hit the spot and the perfect way to start the day! Staff were very friendly!
