absolutely amazing fried chicken!! i had the soy garlic and hot soy garlic flavour. i loved the crispiness and the flavour! one of the best korean fried chicken ive had, and korean fried chicken is one of my favourite foods

Best korean chicken in Melbourne!! We had hot soy chicken and sweet spicy, both are very good. I can give them A+ And can actually the sauce are very unique and taste it.
I ordered the box meal with wings and spicy sweet chilli sauce. it was AMAZING! the chicken was tender, the crumb was crunchy and the sauce was super sticky, everything you could want! The only downside was the size, its definitely a lunch or light meal, not dinner size. i had it with the salad and that was great too. The dressing was super refreshing. i highly recommend coming to check this place out!
Must say that this is a good chicken place - I would recommend their original chicken (or wings) with honey mustard sauce and kimchi fries. I've only been here twice and had no complaints so far.
I usually eat chicken once or twice of week.

The service was fantastic, very friendly. Comfortable atmosphere and warm inside on a cold night. The chicken burgers were amazing! Perfectly cooked chicken a nice relish & mayo matched with salad between a great bun...and only $8.50!! The chips, also very amazing! Better than your regular everyday chip. Very satisfied!
The soy garlic coated fried chicken was really delicious. Don’t miss out their fries too, nicely seasoned, crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside.

The chicken with hot sweet chili sauce was good too, but the garlic soy was my favourite.
Fried chips could had been crispier, but it was okay.
Place was a bit small, and no basin available to wash hand, but who cares about the basin when you can lick clean the fingers. 😄
As close to Korean as you're going to find in inner city Melbourne. across the road from Vic Mkts & bold move , next door to chain store Nando's Portuguese chicken , it's a real find . Spicy chicken Gangjung , kimchi fries and a huge dose of K pop to boot , what more could you want except for some strange bubble looking tea or weird flavoured soft drink whose Korean names remain unpronounceable! Live this place for a quick lunchtime snack .
Best Korean fried chicken ever. The chicken's moist, the outside is crispy but not heavy batter deep fried. The marinades are not too sweet as well. Favourite is the hot garlic soy.
Very small place next to Victoria Market, tram 55. Very polite staff. The Fried Chicken wings delicious with sauce, without sauce it would be crispy and dry. Chips with Kim Chi and cheese were ok, not my favourite. Would definitely visit again when craving KFC. Fried Chicken tastes better than other KFC, not salty, can't taste MSG. Definitely like these new Korean Fried Chicken!

Kimchi chips is also quite an innovative idea. The ambience is ok, a small eatery with around 5-6 tables inside, and it's quiet on both visits. The location is not ideal for city workers, as you might need to do a bit walk to Victoria market( But if you don't mind.)
Service wise? Actually not much.
DO: The soy garlic chicken. Sooo good. The other flavours are also pretty nice but the stand out is soy Garlic or chilli soy Garlic.
DON'T: Forget the kimchi fries.
TIP: Book a table and also order ahead so that you're not waiting all eternity for these double fried babies.
One of the best chicken in Melbourne. The chicken is cooked perfectly having a crisp outside while keeping the inside very moist. The chickens flavour is further elevated by the beautiful soy garlic sauce, which was silky smooth and packed with a rich flavour. Simple but amazing, this chicken is a must have.
5/5!!! Very crispy and their secret sauces are no competition to other fried chicken out there!!! You must try their wings, will definitely be back 👍

KFC is Korean Fried Chicken ....... just so much better than the Colonel's ones.
Yes, Korea (South Korea) is pretty much influenced by the USoA; a US military base, political influence, K-Pop and of course their "modern" fried chicken - Korean marinade and sauces, American's "deep-fried", even Kimchi chips.
Located across from Queen Victoria Market, very small, nothing much from the outside nor inside, more like a very humble take away shop with some tables to dine-in. Modestly set up; self painted and furnished with what seems to be home-made stuff, nothing wrong with that, genuine.
What's amazing about this place is their fried chicken; multi flavoured wings and drumettes, those are the stars in the house, although other Korean dishes are available, like Japchae, Bibimbap, etc.
Fried chickens are rustically presented, on a wooden paddle with a layer of baking paper, Soy Garlic is a stand out, we shall try other flavours next time, honey mustard.
No toilet, water paper cup, no alcohol, licence is in the process but we don't care, as long as those chickens are good and remember to BYO wet towels or just grab some from your local KFC's.
A definite finger lickin good experience.
Amazing crispy chicken burger, but the fried chicken with hot soy garlic sauce was next level. Also make the most refreshing lemon iced tea I've had, was the perfect thing to wash my hangover away.
This place worth much more attention!! Their soy garlic chicken is so good that I think it's the best KFC in town. A very good take away option if you are around the city, heading home in the north west. Nom nom.
I have tried almost all fried chicken places in the CBD and i must say Chickilia is now on my top fav list! We had fried chicken and GANG JUNG last night and it was superb!!!!! Food was ordered for a larger group and everyone was extremely happy with the food!!! I LOVED the chicken sauce because it was neither too spicy nor too sweet ad chicken was perfectly fried! it was so crispy and not too oily at all ! I can definitely see myself coming back to this place very very soon! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves KFC (aka Korean Fried Chicken)!!!!

It's a wonder why a place like this isn't more popular in comparison. It is a very small place though.

Fresh, delicious and uncomplicated Korean Fried Chicken - what more could you ask for in a takeaway? The hot soy garlic is simply the best coating I've had in Melbourne - a serious flavour bomb. Their boneless chicken is tender and juicy yet perfectly crispy on the outside which is quite rare. Above all their customer service is incredible. Teamed with the quality and the price, Chickilia is my new takeaway go-to.
Soy garlic wings are the bomb here!! The boneless chicken pieces are also awesome. Safely say that this is one of my three favourite Korean fried chicken places in Melbourne. Am blissfully chomping on some tasty, tender but crispy boneless chicken pieces as I type this review. Been here 3 times already and will definitely be a constant return customer. Service here is fantastic too by the way :)

- order a large (18 pieces) with half sweet chilli and half soy and garlic. You'll order another large again
Good things are worth a wait. Cloistered in a small cozy spot, Chickilia serves up tender, juicy fried chicken replete with tongue dazzling sauces. The chicken are made to order, and they very politely advise that it usually takes about 20 mins to get the freshly done chicken to your table. Well worth it.
Most other places would have soggy chicken pieces thanks to sauces and dips. Not Chickilia. Somehow, the chicken is not over cooked, yet maintain their delectable crunch and juices even smothered with the tangy sweet chili sauce. Definitely a place I'll go back again.

Best Korean fried chicken I've had - the crispness and flavour in the skin is incredible. Much better than Gami and any of the other fried chicken I've had in Melbourne.
The crispy chicken burger bun was toasted to perfection, chicken was super tender inside and crunchy on the outside.... Flavour is amazing!! Staff was super helpful and very friendly lovely people and a great atmosphere would definitely come back!!!
Officially my fave Korean fried chicken now. The soy garlic wings are the best - crunchy outside but very soft inside, with strong flavour all over. Weekly meal won't be enough!
Reasonably priced. Friendly staff and the taste is just amazing. The atmosphere is really relaxing. Proper authentic Korean fried chicken. Be sure to try out the boneless chicken with HOT Soy garlic sauce. For those lactose intolerant diners, you can ask for the no-sauce option, and the chicken will come out just s tender as it should be.

Absolutely love the family atmosphere here, just like walking into a restaurant in Korea. The owner is so lovely, always give us a bit of extra here and there, definitely the thought that counts the most.
And obviously the food is extremely tasty, especially the wings and boneless tender. Will definitely come back for more 😍
Good, Good! Actually... It's Great!! I've been wanting to eat Kyochon Chicken, and I finally found it in Melbourne! The chicken here tastes like Kyochon Chicken in Korea! I really recommend it. My favorite is the wings, and also the boneless tender was also nice. The lady was kind and friendly. The place is nice and relaxed.

I won the Bibimbap for Christmas gift event that they are having now. Wow, vege Bibimbap is so tasty and yummy. The event is only in the restaurant.
The chicken with garlic sauce was amazing!!! We took home the extra chicken and ate it cold without microwaving and it was still so yummy!!! The japchae was also so flavourful!! The staff was also so very friendly and attentive.

Ever since they closed down their store in Glen Waverley, Ive been craving to go back and have their wings!! Their Korean fried chicken is the best ones I've had, they fry it fresh and it's juicy inside, yet so flavourful and crunchy on the outside. Their batter isn't overwhelming like other stores, but it's light yet still keeps the crisp on the chicken.
The lady who works there is super kind, seems like she's the only one in the store but she's very kind! Works super hard at the front of the store and also in the kitchen alone.
She said that they might be reopening next year in Glen Waverley! It was such a nostalgic store where I would go after tuition with my friends back when I was high school. Cant wait for them to open up again back in Glen Waverley!

We rounded it up, it was 4.5. We waited for a long time because they were severely understaffed, but the food was great and staff was friendly. They gave us a couple of freebies to make up for the time we had to wait. Overall, worth the visit! We recommend the soy garlic chicken, which was excellent!
During the covid-19 pandemic period, students and temporary visa holders, who cannot get any support from the government, got help from several Korean shops. Chickilia is one of them.
I got this package today. The chicken taste was absolutely delicious. I would order some more chicken when I am able to back to work. I definitely recommend the (spicy) soy garlic chicken.
