The vibrant and calm ambience of Sushi Jiro welcomed me to their sushi train. Just like other sushi trains, they sell a variety of different sushi as well as curry, udon, fried chicken and seafood, and even fusion sushi!
Everything was enjoyable, with each sushi having the perfect amount of spice and marinade. The star of this train was their salmon which is consistently soft and pairs well with soy sauce. Other sushi I liked were:
- Apple onion cream salmon sashimi nigiri
- Aburi cheese salmon nigiri and roll
- Crying tiger roll
- Wagyu Yakinuki nigiri
- Any tempura dishes! Their fried foods are all seasoned nicely and have a nice crisp.
Their karaage udon was delicious, with the fatty chicken contrasted by the crispy coating. Wish there had been more chicken to batter ratio. Curry was infused in the udon, making the slurp very flavourful. Curry itself is a bit salty for my liking.

My favourite sushi train place so far in the cbd. Have variety of food available from sushi to soba. Now with the limitation of 20 people inside, the place is more relaxed and the staff were attentive to customers aswell, great service. Recommend.
This was my first 'sushi train' experience and it was so fun! They give you a train per group of people and an iPad to order specific rolls etc and it's such a unique experience! Friendly service, good location and awesome variety in sushi and other food. The prices were great for the quality we received. Only issue I had was that I ordered a specific roll on the iPad and it took a while to get to me - I even had to tell a waitress that I had ordered it in case they hadn't realised I did. The roll came shortly after I notified them. That was a small issue though and I'll be back here the next time I'm in the CBD and wanting to feed my sushi cravings.

Nestled in the heart of the city in QV shopping centre is Sushi Jiro. This Japanese restaurant serves a variety of sushi, salads, sashimi, desserts and hot dishes on an ever-rotating sushi train!
Going in I assumed that majority (maybe 75%) of the sushi dishes would be $3.80 but it wasn’t. There were a lot more $4.80 & $5.80 dishes on the bell/menu. Which I didn’t mind because the quality of the place is top notch. The pieces are a generous size and there’s quite a bit of variety! Which I like. Service was pretty on par. Can be a bit squishy but that’s like majority of the sushi trains nowadays. Dont like how the some of the dishes didnt have a cover on it though. I understand it's to prevent the hot food from getting soggy but it's still unhygienic
Best sushi train place in Melbourne so far hands down. Every dish is packed with flavour and nicely prepared. Nothing to fault about this place. However they could increase in variety as a lot of the sushi's get repetitive and generic.
Sushi Jiro has grown into a big chain of sushi train restaurants. The price is more affordable and good for the quality offered (quality depends on the day but they're pretty consistent). They have a good variety of nigiri, sushi rolls, gunkan (boat), some nori taco, sashimi, hot food, udon noodles and desserts, and also premium priced items which are better quality.

Conveniently located in QV, this place offers sushi train and a small selection of winter comforting dishes. It's always fun to watch the chefs hard at work, preparing
a multitude of dishes to line the conveyor belt from wholesome ingredients. Standard dishes are $3.80 per plate while gourmet and premium dishes are $4.80 and $5.80 each respectively.
A good variety of selection for the diner in this cosy space with minimal but polite service. A good spot for a quick bite but not a place to linger.

2x Large Vege Caterpillar rolls - cucumber, pickled gourd, carrot, wrapped in avo slices with sesame seeds. Tasty, plenty of avo, gourd lovely.
2x Large Inari rolls - avo, cucumber, pickled gourd, carrot, wrapped in seasoned tofu. Inari itself had great flavour, but the rice was a bit dry.
Pickled ginger - all you can eat!!!

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined sushi could get this expensive and luxurious! Only available at Sushi Jiro! Let’s start with 24k gold covered rice, topped with otoro or wagyu beef, lobster, caviar, uni and fresh black truffle! Basically the most expensive ingredients all one on plate. I have to say flavours were completely amazing! It cost you a fair bit but it’s worth it especially for special occasions :)
The nabe with wagyu beef and pork kimchi were both delicious what we need now since it’s getting so cold!
Finally let’s finish off with matcha cheesecake and freshly made mochi!
Great range and quality of sushi in the Q.V. center. The now standard iPad ordering was quick and easy. Which was good as on the quiet afternoon we were there, the service was a bit underwhelming.

Ever since the branch in QV opened and I tried it for the first time in February, I've found my new favourite sushi train place! I always have a fantastic time at Sushi Jiro, the sushi is so good and my personal fav is the Himalaya - that was heaven in my mouth! The prices were also at a reasonable $3.80 per plate. There's a huge variety of dishes available on the menu and there are so many unique & creative ones, where has Sushi Jiro been all my life?
The service was fantastic too! Staff here are friendly and attentive to our needs. On top of that, when I took a hot dish off the sushi train, I requested for it to be heated up in the microwave since it cooled down - but to my surprise they insisted to make a fresh serving for me!

Sushi train is amazing and food is always fresh! I’m frequently here for lunch break and is a great quick and go for lunch. The iPad selection makes ordering food a lot easier, with a good range of fresh sushi made to order
This chain restaurant have recently opened up stores all around Melbourne especially in shopping malls. The sushi are pretty good and fresh. Selections are not as many as other sushi place. Portions are on the smaller side so perfect if you want to snack in between meals. This particular branch have sushi train too!
I'm loving everything I ordered here! The highlight of my dinner would be their salmon skewers ❤️ The place is new, bright and modern. Service is fast and price tags are also reasonable. Will definitely come back for more!
Stopped by sushi jiro for a light snack but I was so impressed with the quality of the sushi and nigiri especially at only $3.80 a plate (minus premiums). Majority of the dishes are $3.80 so it’s definitely a steal. I highly recommend the aburi nigiri, anything that looks saucy always tasted amazing! I’m so sad i could only have a light snack but i have already made plans to return because it was just that good!! Definitely should check this place out if you’re in a sushi mood!

I was in the city buying stuff my new apartment with my partner. It was a busy Thursday night. I was starving and said let’s google a sushi train around here. We googled and this was the closest one.
It’s situated in the busy qv shopping centre. It’s a new sushi train and supper cheap. $3.80 per plate. Supper cheap. They are supper fresh and good quality. I highly recommend it. The staff are supper polite and attentive. I can’t wait to go back!
Nice place. Good for single traveler. Food is very fresh! The green tea cheese cake is wonderful, but i forgot to take a photo before finishing it..
A great sushi train with many good choices. I were surprised with the standard of this branch because the one at Box Hill was meh. A bright and clean atmosphere - food were great and reasonable price, sashimi was fresh - this place might take over my love Sushi Hotaru.
Overall a pleasure experience
Came here during good friday and it was quite crowded. Overall sushi was quite good, but there was a 10% public holiday surcharge which makes the value of the food not so good. Some of the staff was friendly, some was not, but that might be because they were too busy. Will definitely give this a second try when sushi craving strikes!

Honestly, this restaurant is really nice and the staff is really friendly. We can order the food from the tab, and they will send our order immediately. On top of that, we can select any food we want infont of us. Overall, it taste great. You have to try their takoyaki, its awesome.
Comparing to the other sushi trains in the city, this is a good one. Price is reasonable and food is fairly fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed the egg roll and grilled salmon nigiri. Desserts are not bad too for $3.8 per plate. Good place to get a sushi fix - but for the real sushi train experience still have to visit Japan :(.
If someone asked me where they can have sushi train and enjoy the quality, service and atmosphere; this would be one of the places I'd recommend.
It was the start of dinner and we were seated by the sushi train straight away. Upon entering, the ambiance was nice, bright and casual. I noticed there were many seats to sit around the train unlike most sushi train places where spots can be quite limited.
The price was reasonable starting from $3.80 a plate and the quality was there. They had a range of options, both on the train and the ipad menu. From your standard sushi rolls both traditional and gourmet, nigiri, uramaki (rice outside the roll), maki (rice & filling wrapped in seaweed), temaki (hand rolls) which I find quite enjoyable to eat and a range of hot food. What I especially liked was how generous they had filled each dish with sushi.
Sushi Jiro has easily made it to my top few places I'd regularly go to if I was looking for a quick but enjoyable sushi feed.
Grabbed 2 takeaway sushi rolls from here. The service was quick and the server friendly. I got the fresh salmon avocado roll and the prawn katsu avocado roll. The salmon roll was fresh, the rice was a good temperature and good texture and the amount of filling to rice ratio was even. The prawn katsu came with egg mayonnaise - the prawn was crumbed in a light layer of batter and fried until lightly crunchy but not oily - the prawn mince inside was very tasty and juicy and the portion generous.

- Raw fish nigiri was nice and fresh but my fav was the nigiri aburi collection, especially the rich and creamy salmon. I didn't have a lot of room for fried hot food but still tried to get my fav agedashi tofu. The sauce was not too salty which went really nicely with the tofu. Didn't tried any dessert as nothing really interest me unfortunately. The fillings portion for the Temaki sushi were good. The only disappointing thing was the Takowasa gunkan, not just overly fishy but also bitter.
- Would love to go back and try more dishes as I wasn't very hungry on the day and probably didn't give the restaurant my best try.

Ambience: quite a spacious restaurant, new and modern deco, very bright and vibrant colour, locates at QV but is not difficult to navigate

Sushi Jiro is easily one of our favourite Sushi trains in Melbourne, full stop. Bested only by our favourite Sakura Kaiten, Sushi Jiro offers impeccable service, ambience, value and some of the most gorgeous tasting sushi you will have in your life.
We ordered a multitude of dishes ranging from scallop, to eel, to our fundamentals in salmon- no dishes disappointed. The sashimi on its own was very tasty, a fatty serving for sure, whilst the myriad of other options literally melt in your mouth. Fresh, full of delight and cooked with meticulous care. My personal favourite was the Aburi Cream Cheese whilst Emily enjoyed the Tuna and Salmon sesame combo.
There is much to be proud of in recognising delicious sushi, and so we cannot recommend this enough. Come here for some of the best sushi in Melbourne!

Granted that the plates are more expensive than most other places (minimum of $3.80 per plate), the quality is great. The food is fresh and the flavours are delicious. Staff are friendly. Service is prompt. Sushi Jiro recently opened up in QV and I finally got to try it. It’s a modern sushi train restaurant with a cool and stylish design. The interior is brightly lit and spacious, and a fun vibe.
There’s a huge variety of dishes to try and they start from $3.8 and work their way up. The iPad makes it very convenient to view the menu and order specific dishes you want. I strongly recommend ordering the hot food via the iPad as it comes fresh and hasn’t been sitting on the conveyor belt for too long.
There are many unique dishes available here. Some of our favourites included the tamago with crab, deep-fried salmon, nori taco, and the ‘crying tiger’.
Unfortunately during our visit, the iPad system broke down so we were not able to order from our iPad for the majority of our time. Other than that, service was fantastic and food was delicious.
Be prepared to pay $30 per person for this meal! Pricey sushi train at $3.80 per plate. More for sashimi. But enjoyed the layout of the restaurant. ABURI SCALLOPS INARI
Almost all plates are $3.80, which is really value for money if you're feeling like having sushi off sushi train. There wasn't much option for vegetarians though.
The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Would come back again.
Sushi Jiro in QV is a bright and fast paced restaurant. The sushi train has a wide variety of choices including hot food and desserts.
I love their fried salmon pieces which are drenched in sweet sauce - not a typical sushi dish but it's my favourite. The other items are well presented and taste fresh. If you want it even fresher, you can order it using the iPad in front of you.
This is a nice and convenient place to get your sushi fix.
Good selection of Japanese favourites, reasonably priced for what you get. Food quality was good and service was friendly. Seared (aburi) sushi dishes were well seared with a good taste. Chanwanmushi was also tasty, not bland like some other places, but serving size was somewhat small. The tempura prawns were also quite small - there was a much larger version coated with cereal flakes on the sushi train for only $1 more compared to the ones you can order on the menu - get that instead.
Quite comparable in price and quality to Tetsujin at Emporium, but perhaps slightly more value for money. Since this is a newer branch in the city, I'm hoping it stays that way. Will most likely return if we want a sushi fix.
在qv新开不久的寿司店，是sushi train形式的，要吃啥直接端下来就行。每份几乎都是3.8除了有些特殊的。种类还是挺多哒，想吃的都有。寿司甜品三文鱼。最喜欢这种虾的握寿司了，尤其上面有芝士的！抹茶和芝士蛋糕也很好吃，甜甜的但不腻。
店内环境很干净，也能看得见里面在做寿司，但位子并不是很多。

Would I be back to Sushi Jiro? Yes, definitely would love to. Would I recommend to family and friends? Yes do try them out! If you’ve had sushi train elsewhere ie Tetsujin, Sushi Hotaru, Marie Izakaya and think they’re missing some choices... you definitely won’t be disappointed.

Tasty food, great service, value isn't the best but it's a sushi train so I'm fine with this! Atmosphere was casual and comfy, definitely returning (and will remember to take pictures instead of scarfing them down lol)
Clean cut place. Attentive service. Flat $3.80 dishes for basic plates. Sushi was fresh and made well. Train was filled. Only downside was a lot of what was on the train was rather repetitive. For variety, you needed to turn to the menu for ordering. Nice competitor to the market.
High quality sushi train with a great variety of dishes, especially rolls and nigiri in unique combinations. More complex flavours than your average sushi train — good if you want to try something new. Quite easy to get a seat and staff were friendly.
Overall this was a great experience at this Sushi Jiro QV! The sushi was delicious and plenty of options! Not too bad of drink selection aswel! The venue and location is very nice and everything works really well! Definitely had a very positive experience here and can highly recommend for a tasty meal that’s not all that expensive!
Stumbled upon this gem today and it’s become my favourite sushi train restaurants in Aus! I’ve tried all of the ones in brisbane and gotta say, Melbourne sushi is SO much better! There’s just so much more variety in the flavours that they offer, and you literally wouldn’t get bored. Definitely will be back for more :)

Sushi Jiro is in my top 2 for sushi trains in Melbourne. Their quality is great especially for the price, their service is speedy and attentive, and they have a wide selection to choose from. If you’ve been to a sushi train before, you’ll be familiar with the set up - pick up what you like from the train or order off the iPad for additional items (hot food, special sushi, dessert, drinks, etc). They also offer take-away and bigger platters for groups!
Sushi Jiro has the classic favourites but they also have some peculiar twists to others (nacho chips as a topping?!). I personally love the creativity and variety they offer here. I always leave feeling like my sushi cravings have been satisfied.
Highly recommend Sushi Jiro, they have a few locations but I’ve only tried QV and have loved it every time!

Loving this sushi train brand - there’s a few around town. Lots of variety, prices are reasonable and most importantly, sushi is fresh! Wished they also served otoro.. they do have salmon belly instead (not a comparison!). Order via iPad or pick off the sushi train.
