The soba was super tasty and the tempura was light and flavourful. The batter was a bit thicker compared japanese tempura batter but it still very delicious.
The unagi bowl was also very delicious however, the unagi was a bit too chewy (personally prefer it flakier). Nonetheless, the ambience is great and staff are receptive
Lunch special is well worth it. Omelette under rice is generous, as is the rice serving size. Katsu is very crisp and the sauce on top is very sweet. Service is average-paced and you cannot use Zomato Gold with lunch specials unfortunately. Anyway, great for a quickc cheap japanese-style feed!
Delicious food! The Udon beef soup was amazing - Udon perfectly cooked and the broth was amazing. The soba flavours were unreal! And the fried rice was a perfect balance of everything. The gyoza is truly authentic. Would recommend 100%
The food was surprisingly delicious. Compared to other places with similar concept, it’s definitely better in regards to price vs quantity and quality, staff and all other things. The restaurant is clean and well-decorated. Staff was nice and polite. Highly recommend!

A good, cute place in the city to eat an Asian food.
Food: there’s nothing special in this food. They have mostly rice and some protein with vegetables, which is pretty good for their prices and the taste is good, pretty similar with most of the restaurants around Melbourne, but with a fair price. I think this is the best thing about here (and the best thing, they’re in ZOMATO GOLD). But it’s a good place to try at least once though.
Service: is ok, the problem is we ordered one dish and after a period of time after we ordered they came on our table and said the dish we ordered was sold out, but had past 10 minutes already), but anyway, the dish didn’t take so long to come which was a good point in the end.
Price: $11,9
Have been here twice, food very consistent. Staff is friendly. The favour is really good. I came in with zomato gold, but honestly dont mind spending money even if gold membership is over. Highly recommend!
The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and the food are nice. 👍👍👍
Came here for a quick dinner and it did not disappoint. A wide range of popular Asian dishes from Korean to Chinese cuisine. We had Laksa, Fried Kway Two, Kimchi, Pineapple Fried Rice and Gyozas. All great in its own right. Pair that with friendly and happy service, you've got a winner. Will definitely go again.
The staff is really friendly. We had the stir-fried kway teow and the beef curry don. Both dishes were reasonable in price and quantity. Zomato Gold made sure our meal was even cheaper than usual. All in all, if you’re in the city, I would highly recommend eating here, especially if you have Zomato Gold.

Overall: 🙂
Ordered the braised pork rice and the shanghai fried noodle. The pork was nicely braised and flavoursome. But a the quantity was small.
Didn’t enjoy the noodle. Was a bit bland for taste.
Service was quick and the staffs friendly.
Really liked this cute little place hidden around the corner.
Small menu, focussed on Don/rice bowls. We had the Gyu Tan Don and Katsu Don, service was quick and food was tasty.
No-frill, value for money joint serving up Japanese / Chinese dishes. I had chicken katsu curry rice which was pretty delicious, my friends who had gyu-tan (ox tongue) don said it was pretty good too. Service was quick and friendly. Will come back if nearby and in need of quick and delicious food.
Has lunch with Zomato Gold today. Staff was friendly and polite. Nice environment. Ordered Gyutan rice and was delicious. Would recommend this place.

Hana's kitchen is a nook in the corner of little bourke street and Elizabeth street. The chicken katsu curry i had here was completely new and had an omellete sitting between the chicken and rice. Never had i had a curry rice with minimal curry but so flavourful😍
🍛
It was also the first time i had tried a noodle pull shot and it came out fabulous🤩🍲
This nook in the corner has a very good ambience with blue hues and funny quotes on its walls 🙆♀️
The service is amazing and i guarantee you the food is worth more than its price 🤑🤑
Enjoy a good lunch in this humble place and i guarantee that you'll leave will a full belly and a big smile 😊

Great service. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is good and priced well. It’s very clean and cute inside. iIt is very well priced for the overall experience of dining there
Good value for money with Zomato gold membership. Tried this cafe out during lunch on weekdays, food was delicious and staff was friendly. Perfect solution for when you need quick, easy and nice lunch.
Very affordable meals! had the katsu curry, and it’s delicious and portion is just nice. Will come back again to try out other dishes! Good recommendation
The place is actually really cute and well kept, the staff was really nice and food was pretty quick. Used Zomato Gold with no problem.
The seafood teriyaki bowl was quite yummy, the seafood were fresh and I love the sauce but the ratio between rice and seafood was bit off as there was too much rice, and would love the squid to be more juicy and less dry.
The vegetarian laksa was also yummy, it was just the perfect consistency and flavour and really generous with the tofu (like 10 pieces?!) as well as the veggies.
Went back and yes they were still good!
Got the unagi rice which was yummy, though I'd love to have bigger piece.
The ox tongue was soft and chewy, and definitely kinda wine-y and savory.
Overall a really great place with reasonable prices and comfy environment.

Great food! Friendly staff, fast serving, if you need a quick, yummy, healthy lunch, here is where you can go. Good deal with zomato membership .
It’s an unassuming place, tucked between two powerhouses. I usually don’t particularly like the idea of pan-Asian, but in this case the menu is simple, and what they do they do very well. It’s just good food. The okonomiyaki is one of the best I’ve had outside of Japan (which might not be saying much). I’m sure people will quibble here and there, and complain about authenticity. But what I have eaten here over a few visits has been delicious, and the price is right. Give it a go.
Located right next to two of the busiest restaurants of the street, Hana's kitchen is a new Japanese style cafe offering a wide range of affordable dishes. From entree to noodles, don and more. But find it a bit strange that they have some Chinese and Malay dishes as well.
We used Zomato Gold and tried the unagi don and gyutan don (ox tongue). Both were quite tasty although I found the eel was relatively small portion comparing to the image.
Overall it was a nice, clean boutique cafe with good customer service, good for after-work meals.
I went to Hana kitchen for my late lunch today. The service was good. Place is very cozy and beautiful. Very instagramable! The food is very nice! Especially the unagi don and gyutan don! Very recommended!!! We tried the skewers as well, but it’s a bit salty, but it’s still good.
Will definitely come back 🙆🏻♀️
Easily the best chicken katsu don I have tasted in Melbourne. Their teriyaki chicken don and gyoza consistently delivers quality. Fresh vegetables on the side to complement their dishes.
It is my first time to use gold. Here has amazing food with good environment. A fantastic lunch experience with friends. Highly recommended.
Yummy homely pan-Asian selection in a cosy space. Really enjoyed the okonomiyaki and fried rice. Hearty serves. Always Very friendly staff too.
I was quite surprised at how great the meal was here. I ordered the chilli beef don and it was delicious for such a simple dish. The rice was full of flavour and the vegetables were fresh. There was a good amount of chilli in the beef and tofu as well, it left me sweating in a good way.
Very compact place for such yummy food.
I really loved the decorations here, it make me feels very relaxed.
The taste was wonderful as well.
You can't really miss this place if u re around.
Definitely coming back for more.
the food we ordered is delicious, price is reasonable, and aesthetic place. we ordered gyutan don, okonomiyaki, and chicken katsu don. would love to comeback!
Will definitely be back again. Friendly and helpful staff, food was pretty good and prices were really affordable. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to be served as well! :)
😱Lizzie’s first impression: a cute little restaurant situated near the business stores of shanghai st dumpling and little ramen - they serve a variety of dishes here.
🍩Lizzie enjoyed: we decided on the curry katsu and the Katsudon. I loved both of them. The portions were very generous and it was freshly cooked! I almost couldn’t finish!
🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: as an indecisive person, the menu was really varied so I wasn’t really sure what to order, but the good thing is there’s a bit of everything so you’ll definitely be able to find something.
🥇Lizzie rates overall: a great place to go to with quality food. The decor is really cute and reminds me of a modern Japanese cafe.

Next door's Shanghai Dumplings were packed so decided to come in here and grab a quick lunch. With a daily $9.90 lunch special, today was Gyu Don. This is a Chinese Japanese fusion place, Wasn't anything special, just average, maybe a tad under seasoned. If you're just looking to just get a bite to eat, this will satisfy you.
The atmosphere is pretty nice, there's cushions on the long bench and popular radio was playing out of the speakers. Size of the restaurant is cozy too.
Had the Katsu Don on Wednesday. A lot of food and can of drink for $10. Had to give out the address to a couple of people when I got back to work as it made the office smell nice. Rice was very tasty as was the chicken. Will be back to try the rest!
New shop opening , let’s go have a tried , customer service not bad , very politely and given a big big smile thumbs up , it’s like somethings Asian cuisine, ordered gyu tan don , average the taste can be improve, the dining atmosphere not bad ^^ . Price is reasonable. Yes definitely will come back Tried others dish . Cheers

WON TONS IN CHILI - PERIOD
We got some takeaway from here and it was great:
- Okonomiyaki
- Spring Onion Pancake
- Won Ton in Spicy Sauce
- Chicken Katsu Don
The okonomiyaki was delish - it was moist and fresh and the perfect amount of sauce.
The spring onion pancake was crispy as, however, it was a bit oily.
The won tons were amazing, so fresh and in a hearty spicy sauce with the perfect amount of vinegar.
Chicken Katsu Don with the egg ommellete was absolutely delish - the chicken was crispy as. The only let down was the rice which was not cooked properly - it was very under and didn't make a great impression.
Service is very friendly and inviting. The venue is very small but it's bright.
Can't wait to come back and try more.
Hana’s Kitchen is a little restaurant next to Shanghai Street and comparatively leas crowded. I ordered Katsu curry, kimchi beef, Mangolian beef and noodles. Meals were delicious, fresh and came in less than 5 mins. On top of that staff is very courteous.
They also offer specific menu item everyday for $9.9.
Delicious food in the heart of Melbourne! Hana's kitchen provides very good environment with delicious variety of food and beverages as well. Surprisingly, the prices are really good for the portisions of the dishes. Highly recommended for everyone to try it at least ones.
Food was yummy. Reasonable price for the dish. Chicken katsu Don and curry Katsu Don were great.
Space is modern decorated cafe style with relaxing music in the background.
Ordered the Unagi (eel) don, chicken katsu don and a non alcohol mojito.
Unagi was super soft and tasty! Underneath was oyakodon style omelette with veges and sauce, really makes you want to eat all the rice!
Chicken katsu was perfect crispy with nice tonkatsu sauce.
Mojito was little bit sour, I'd say needs some sugar syrup but it was a good contrast otherwise to the HUGE umami taste of the donburis! You really will want something bland, like the little boiled broccoli, to offset the taste.
Definitely gonna come back again and good quality and friendly service is the same. :)
Very nice decor and ambience
Ordered Char kway teow and ox tongue rice, both are tasty
Very warm decor, friendly service.
It is recommended to change the oil of the fry often.
