Are here on Easter Monday as it was a great location and meeting spot near our boat ride, and due to the public holiday only one person was on roster but he did an excellent job!! Highly recommended for great flavour, service and location.
Have been here a number of times. Very friendly staff, order is always correct, and the food is always good. The location is spectacular; right on the waterfront, and in the evening you get a great view of sunset behind the Bolty Bridge. The only down side is the price, which seems to be a trend with fish and chips stores everywhere nowadays. In order to get away with a meal for the $10 mark I usually get some calamari and potato cakes with chicken salt, and they're both very nice. I'd recommend this place if you're in the area.
The best seafood I have had in Melbourne. Everything was cooked to perfection. Crispy chips, great batter on the fish, which tastes like it had just been caught. The calamari was soft, like it should be. Prawns full of flavour. On top of all that the staff are friendly. I'm so lucky that this is my local. 😄
Partner and I had a quick bite on a Saturday night. Service was good. Staff were friendly and greeted us upon entering.
Ordered two packs, a beer, a wine and two sauces for $44. Not bad.
Tables and chairs are screwed to the floor in a really uncomfortable position; you need to sit on the very edge of the chairs to be able to eat over the tables. Had a sore bum after 15mins.
Food came out in less than 5 mins from ordering.
Chips were fresh and crunchy. Fish (blue grenadier) was fresh and tasty, but a little overcooked at one end. Potato cakes were good with enough chicken salt. Dim Sims were pretty good too. All seemed to be cooked in fresh oil.
Points lost for general cleanliness, uncomfortable seating and food not being too outstanding. If in area, would eat again.
Love the location and architectural design of Fish Bar. Allows you to enjoy beautiful view while eating your fish dish. Was also lucky enough to enjoy the sweet voice of a busker nearby. Service was fast. I ordered a Slimmer's Pack which included grilled fish, two prawns + a salad and a mineral water (orange and passionfruit flavoured).
As I have a hobby to experiment with food so,I just checked into this counter also & this time there was something "fishy" thought in my mind.😜.It was a mixed respond for this joint along with its food.the best part of this joint is its location & ambience,which was just awesome & fresh...full of life..but i think they should work on their platters a li'l bit more.there is no doubt about it's amount or standard but it's taste could be more better.moreover i think it's a little pricey also..
Contrary to others I thought the food was fresh and tasty. Good quality fish and calamari rings, more expensive than other fish and chips but it's in docklands
Satisfactory. Would go again if heading past - had better fish & chips but they were still quite nice and decent value for money.

Relaxed eating. A great fish and chip place, the fish was superbly fresh, as were the scallops and prawns, and the chips were cooked to perfection. Too much to eat even with buying a small pack.
Great to be able to sit outside next to the water and eat along with having a beer, and yes I dd break the rules and feed the sparrows, as they had only mentioned not feeding the seagulls !

We couldn't particularly afford anything fancy that day and docklands is full of those kind of restaurants. So fish and chips it was. A friend only had about half her box of chips filled which was disappointing, but they filled it up when she enquired about it. Otherwise the food was quote good. It's a nice atmosphere especially being right on te waterfront.
