Myself and a few work colleagues ordered lunch on uber eats from here today, we all really enjoyed our meals! The rogan josh curry flavours were great and the butter chicken was amazing also. We ALL could not fault the naan, rice or pappadams. The only comment was that the rogan josh was slightly too thin and they would have preferred it slightly thicker. Thank you for the extra rice serving! even if it was an accident :)
Ordered the family pack through ubereats. For 35$ it's a pretty good deal.
The rice is very soft and fluffy unlike how the previous reviewer mentioned. The curries so tasty, though I wish it was spicier. haha. Chicken tikka is a little let down. A tad dry but still flavourful.
Overall very satisfied with my Indian take out. 😋😋😋
I chanced upon this Indian restaurant as Melbourne roasted under the midday sun. I went into the plain but functional interior and ordered my favorite Indian dish, Palak Paneer, with Basmati rice and Mango Lassee - yum! This was a simple yet flavorful and exotic lunch with great value.
Recommended! Will definitely drop by when I visit Melbourne again!
Great little curry house for a quick bite on the way home from work. Relatively inexpensive, fast service, fresh food. I enjoyed. Had the tikka thai.

Their chicken josh and chicken tikka are really delish too (though i kinda wish there were more chicken in each serving and the rice is always much more than needed imo).
Service is very prompt. Ordered delivery before and didnt have to wait for long for the food.

Visited upon recommendation by a friend. Hands down the best yummiest and authentic Indian food I’ve ever had in our lives. Came here THREE times coz it was that good. Recently we had the today’s special “Chole Bhathure”. This should be on the menu coz it was mind blowing. For the mains we had chicken saag and lamb rogan josh with garlic naans. Everything on the menu is good and we can’t wait for our next visit!
Customer service was impeccable too. The boss chatted with us for abit and we felt very at home. He even treated us to gulab jamun on the house!

Uni-budget-friendly Indian meals that do not disappoint. Although their tandoori chicken was a little too bland for me, their butter chicken curry and naans were excellent! Generous serves at reasonable prices. It really is no wonder why Classic Curry's been a long-time delivery favourite for students.
Not the most well decorated but don't judge a book by its cover! I recommend the 35$ meal deal and take a friend or order it for takeaway. Curries are well priced and delicious. Tastiest samosa I have ever had. They don't skimp on their chillies so if you cant handle that let them know, otherwise beautiful spices and aromas.
My absolute go-to place for butter chicken, paneer and kick ass mango lassi. Highly recommended and easy on the pocket with the huge servings. For first timers, try out the value sets that give you a good value for money and to try their rotis/samosas. Its great for large groups too, so go crazy with the curry and roti varieties.
Hmmm I'm not sure why this place received quite a few bad reviews because I haven't had a bad experience so far.
My favorite: Butter Chicken (I've tried few places and I like it BEST here), Aloo Baigan (spiced potatoes & eggplants), and Veggie Kofta.

A nice little place!! The lamb & chicken briyani is very delicious & full of flavour, cant go wrong!! The currys are good but not spectacular compared to other Indian restaurants Ive been to but still delicious. Definitely recommended if your in the area!!
Delicious Indian food. Simple place in a location with not many restaurants around. Lamb korma and the other dishes we tried were very tasty. The only item I was disappointed was with the naan, not because it was bad but because I'm spoiled with Om's naan close to flinders station.
I like my big, strong, bold flavours. Indian curries seem to tick all those boxes for me and to enjoy a good variety of it at a bargain price is a real bonus. Though I do have to admit that I cannot truly appreciate the complexity of Indian curries. Mango Lassi (3.00) The mango lassi comes in a cute little bottle. I was a little skeptical with the packaging at first, but it turned out to be one of the best mango lassi I have ordered in Melbourne. I find most places to be too sweet, but this was just right, allowing me to enjoy the refreshing mango yoghurt drink. Vegetarian Thali (10.00) One of the best things about Classic Curry Co. are their mixed thali/platters. I love their curry, the butter chicken and vindaloo in a platter, YUM!! Staff was very accommodating, moving tables around for me and my friends and made my butter chicken super spicy upon request!! Highly recommend this old family restaurant..

The butter chicken and rogan josh are divine. Their naan bread is the best I've ever had and their "single" pack (drink, samosa, naan, curry, rice) for $15 is an absolute steal.

Dishonest and disappointed. I have ordered take away here a few times and the curries are always fantastic and the service is generally fast and friendly. A word of warning however to confirm prices with these guys as they won't hesitate to up the prices by a dollar or two with unsuspecting customers. When I went to pick up my order of lamb saag and butter chicken with garlic naan ($22.50), the old lady serving me mumbled a few words to the other staff in her own language before charging me $24 for my meal. Considering that there was a note sitting on top of my order with the correct price which she removed before charging me, I found her actions to be pretty dishonest and crafty. I know it wasn't much, but it really reflects on the integrity and value of the people that run this restaurant. I am rather disappointed and hoping this will never happen again!

Great service, food & value. I was searching for a home delivery (to West Melbourne) option, and came across Classic Curry Company. For $15 I got a samosa, naan, curry + rice, two pappadams and a can of Pepsi -- delivered! And it was delicious!
Can't wait to try some of the other dishes next time.

Wow!! I have been going to classic curry city since it begun in 1996!! And the curries have always been so great and consistent... but now, nit only are their curries fantastic and so reasonably priced, they have also renovated the place and it looks amazing!!! This plAce is really happening, they also have another branch in sunshine! The good news just keeps coming!!! I started going here over 10 years ago. Today they still have the best butter chicken an best garlic naan in Melbourne. Hats off to CCC, and still VERY reasonably priced.
We've been eating here every weekend for a few weeks now. The food is amazing, the service is fast & they are friendly. Really good value for money. The single pack is a bargain with 1 rice,
1 curry, 1 samosa, 2 papadums, 1 naan bread & 1 can of drink for $15!! Butter chicken and rogan josh are easily my favourites.
Best and cheapest. The menu is amazing. I don't know how they can make it so cheap, yet provide so much! Their veg Korma and butter chicken are amazing, and their naan always fresh. I call up for take away and they are always friendly, and ready in less than 15 minutes. It's become one of my take away staples and I'm very lucky to have this place so close by. Amazing!
Dingy a.k.a. authentic :). The restaurant itself doesn't look very interesting from the inside or the outside but the food here never disappoints.
This place has been around for years, open 7 days and they're very busy (in-house dining, take away and home delivery), so I don't understand why they can't renovate the place up a bit because if you're going here to dine-in, you have to be ok with eating in a place that looks like a budget food joint somewhere in South Asia. That is not to say they should decorate it like some Maharaja-themed restaurant, because such places are never really that authentic anyway.
On a finishing note, if the food is your only concern, this place is great.

Delicious and cheap. Cheap, tasty, friendly service. Not an impressive place, physically, but their Shahi Paneer is fairly amazing -- and a hearty meal for under $10, one of my favourites.

Mmmmmmm Butter chicken!!!. Looking through the door of the classic curry company will leave you wondering if you will need a tetanus shot to survive the experience. Opening the menu will open the door for a plethora of tastes and experiences, aromatic curry, fluffy rice, spicy samosa, paneer, dahl, korma.. oh and the butter chicken is Amazing!

Best curry. I come to classic curry on a weekly basis with my friends and the staff know our order so the food just comes to our table the food is fresh and tastes just like home cooking. I highly suggest u give this place a go the ambience isnt flashy but the food is yummy
Awesome food!. I have been going to this restaurant for years now, and I must say that it is the only Indian restaurant that like going to. If you're after top quality Indian food but don't want to pay too much, then Classic Curry is the place to go. The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and the staff are most welcoming.I'd recommend the Rogan Josh, it's delicious!!

Cheap, cheerful and tasty. All three things made the dining experience a fun time for all. BYO was an added highlight. As noted by others the samosas, nann and butter chicken also pretty amazing.
Best thing about this place is staff is very friendly.. They always welcome with smile all customers. i usually make take away orders.. They make it ready so quick. Good sized meal for a good price. Had my meal in front of me less than 5 minutes after walking in the door. Vindaloo and vege korma were great, palak paneer not so much. Naan was crisp, fresh and delicious and is what will have me coming back.
Best. Samosas. Ever. Don't let the decor put you off. This is the place for an indian banquet, delicious flavours, fresh ingredients. And don't go past the samosas, I don't like many but these are pieces of heaven, lightly fried, magnificent.

Awesome! This is, without doubt, the best curry we have had on our travels in Australia! Sure, it's no frills, but the food was great - and very cheap. And the service was fine. We will definitely return.
The place is a whole in the wall but, like in India, It's the tastiest. Most Australians won't like this as it's not with the added flavors to cater to Aussie palettes. This is quite close to what Indian food actually tastes like. Although not all dishes are to up to the mark. Chicken tikka is recommended.
Best curry in Melbourne. This is my favourite curry place in Melbourne. The food is always delicious. I think you would struggle to find better value indian food anywhere else in Victoria. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is oh so relaxed. Love it!
Butter chicken to die for. Been coming for years and absolutely love the butter chicken and vegetable korma. My partner refuses to eat any other Indian curry other than from this store as it has really set the standard.
In terms of the venue however it leaves a lot to be desired. It looks dirty and really needs renovation. I've never gotten sick from it though and I can't help coming back because it's so delicious. They do delivery also but you might have to wait a while during peak periods.
Take my advice; try the butter chicken. You won't regret it.
Vegetable kofta-mmm.. Can't comment on the meat dishes, but the vegetarian food is super tasty and insanely good value.

i always go there after work and all the staff are extremely freindly and their butter chicken is the best in australia.
i get take away from there at least 3 times a week as it is close by to my home. the qualiy is so good and the food is made fresh everyday.
the food is cheap and good, highly recommend u visit this place but on the weekends u should call to book in as i see many people waiting outside waiting for a table. the service is quick and great for a good meal.

Go for the Family Pack!. Great, authentic, cheap Indian food that come in big portions, and they also deliver and open everyday until pretty late. Love their butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, and they have a good family pack at $35 for tandoori chicken, 2 curries, some papadums and a big soft drink. Yum!
Consistently Good. The curries are a bit oily and a bit sweet, but perhaps I like that, you wouldn't want to be eating this all the time but it's a tasty " I can't be bothered cooking " meal. Naans are good.

The food was all right; ordered a lamb biryani which was decently priced and the quantity was good. Some pices of meat were a bit harder probably due to over-frying but the meal was overall nice. It was quite late at night so I won't gripe much about the place, although it could do with a little makeover. The man and the lady were courteous and friendly. Also, the raita was tasty! It's nice to have some North Indian food available in the city.
I am an international student from India and I wanted to have Indian food near Melbourne CBD. And I found this amazing restaurant near Queens Victoria Market.
The ambience is fantastic, you will feel at home listening to Bollywood songs. I ordered Veg Thali the first time I visited this place and it was super delicious with 3 curries and butter naan with rice and it was truly give me a taste of typical Indian cuisine.
The best part of this place is that they have a variety of menus as compared to other restaurants in the CBD area from Badaloo, Biryani, Thali and more

So, so, so good!! I've been getting delivery from here for about 5-ish years now, and they're genuinely just the best curry place in Melbourne. So reliable, not too long delivery time, and the food. Oh my god the food. Genuinely the best butter chicken I've ever had - any other butter chicken simply doesn't do it for me anymore. I don't know what they put in that stuff that makes it so incredible, but they could be putting in liquid gold for all I care. Such great prices too.

No better place in Melbourne City than Classic Curry for authentic Indian food. Absolutely worth the money and top notch food. The Panner Curry and Butter Naan are the best and highly recommended! Also a very clean place and very well maintained in terms of hygiene and cleanliness!
