If you haven't been to Sichuan(Szechuan)yet well you've come to the right place. This place has the most authentic Maocai(Malatang) in Melbourne. As a person who spend 4 years back in Sichuan I couldn't recommand more!
Polite family run restaurant. Wonton noodles were good. Not so keen on the satay sauce on the dry wontons though. Fast service with a friendly staff.
Newly opened restaurant that unfortunately has not been receiving many customers. To add to their woes, their roof started leaking during a storm and I can't help but feel a little sorry for them, they deserve better.
Their wonton noodle soup had a basic bone broth, rice noodles and handmade wontons (pork) which which had a nice bounce to them. Nothing can beat mum's wontons but these were decent, the wrappers weren't as silky. Chilli oil on the side if you want to give it that bump up.
On the side I got some spicy chicken feet, it was mild and the flavouring was quite muted. That being said it was beautifully cooked and the meat came right off in my mouth.
They also do other dishes if wontons are not your thing, such as rice based dishes and other small nibbles.
Great quality wontons and other noodle, stir fry, rice, mains available.
Duck with pickle cabbage soup and prawn wontons, $15.8, 14 wontons in medium size bowl. Good filling size, greatly tasting wontons.
Pork belly - soft, and flavoursome.
Lamb ribs - flavoursome coating and just a bit of chilli spice.
I’ve been here 10 times now and the food is always incredible. Most slept on restaurant in Melbourne. DONT GOT TO SHANGHAI STREET. I would rate this a 10/10
Underrated wonton outlet - quality of the food is great but there just isn’t enough people who actually give them a chance by stepping into the establishment. Honest food with down to earth service, all you could ever want from a n easy affordable city neighbor joint.
Amazing and authentic Chengdu noodle soups at very reasonable prices. If you like spicy then ask for it. Friendly service as well!
it was so delicious here, i simply cannot wait to go back.
id just watched in the mood for love and the wonton noodle soup just really hit the spot.
Absolutely like the beef stir fry noddles with cumin. It's soo delicious 😋. I always come and get the stir fry noodles from this place.
Been frequenting Wontonmaster since they opened up a couple years ago and they've been consistent every time. Great value for money, the staff are friendly, the food is fresh and delicious. Great homey flavours for the broth, and great noodles. Don't be expecting just HK style wonton egg noodles here - these flavours are a bit different but as mentioned above, absolutely delicious!
Best wontons in Melbourne by far. Fresh and very tasty. Only one person so far has failed to rate this 5 stars, and judging by that review I don't think anyone knows why. I'm honestly not sure why this place doesn't have a line out the front. Highly recommended.
Hands down the BEST Sichuan restaurant in Melbourne. Price is very reasonable and the flavours are out of this world. Could not stop thinking about the Dan Dan noodles and Kung Pao chicken... *drools*
I plan to try every dish on their menu.
Delicious!! Very friendly stuff.
The best Spicy Dan Dan Noodle Soup I’ve ever tried!
