Review:
Chicken burgers tend to be a hit or miss for me. I've got two basic requirements: crunchy outside, and a moist inside. Luckily, the Art of Fried Chicken were able to meet these requirements and MORE!
On a delicious sesame toasted bun with awesome bun:insde ratio, bacon added that salty, guilt-inducing fatty flavour while the fresh slice of tomato and cut of lettuce gave that refreshing bite.
The side of chips takes up half the basket and with how much I got filled up on the burger, it was more than enough. Luckily my friend was able to help me demolish the rest of the chips!
One gripe that prevents this fine establishment from being a 5/5 is that there is no real diner service. Very much geared towards catering for those ubereats orders, when you want water for yourself/on the table the kind cashier gives it to you on a paper cup (cheap feeling) and you'd have to go up and ask them to refill. This makes it a little annoying for both parties involved.
Overall, great place to get fried chicken burgers from!
Some excellent variety at this rustic little venue where flavour of the food is the focus. Their popcorn chicken contains real chicken and you can get sweet, salty, spicy flavour options on their fried chicken. Burgers look really great too.

I was invited to the AOFC tonight and I must say it really is quite the art form. Theyāve perfected exceptionally tender chicken particularly considering the pieces are quite thick and still so moist all the way through.
Visiting on a 36 degree day when the air conditioning wasnāt working certainly wasnāt ideal, but 2 x cans of coke each helped us power through the share pack for two. This has 8 pieces of generously sized chicken, fries, slaw and two dipping sauces. I think itās quite good value for how much food you get and arguably it could feed three people.
We chose a mixture of chicken flavours. Thereās four to pick from, two wet and two dry with a spicy and mild variant in each. We chose the two mild and also opted for some sans coating so we could sample some dipping sauces. The dry was called Mexican likened to a peri peri taste, this had something of a kick. I really enjoyed the flavours even though I did find it a little hot.
The wet was my preferred and it went perfectly with the delicious chicken salted chips. We also tried some popcorn chicken and a chicken burger to round out the meal. An unbelievable amount of food that ultimately defeated us. Definitely worth checking out if you are a fried chicken fan
Absolutely loved the fried chicken and burgers here really juicy and a great coating. Definitely one of the best in Melbourne do yourself a favor and try it
Amazing chicken! Have to say that the quality of the chicken boneless pieces were awesome, along with the sauces accompanying them.
The burger is possibly the best chicken burger I've had in Melbourne, soft bun and sweet sauce was pure magic.
The fries were great also and the coleslaw was absolutely spot on!
I'm looking forward to my next meal there, still thinking about it snd salivating!
Who doesnāt love some good fried chicken??!! AFC does it just right. The perfect balance between spice and flavour. I tried just 1 flavour but I will definitely be going back for more. Although I didnāt order fries but the manager said I must try them the next time Iām around. Good food and even better service. š

These boys are so so good at what they do! FRIED CHICKEN! If you know these boys from their food truck days till now, I feel they are still ahead of the fried chicken game!

We ordered the share pack for two.
Asian Hot Nashville Rub Chicken Pieces- SO good. Very flavoursome, juicy and the skin was so crunchy. The rub was also notably tangy and aromatic. Spice level was also good - not too hot. Must have! It was definitely the highlight.
Atlanta Sauce Chicken Fillets - a bit too buttery for my liking and it wasn't crunchy like the chicken pieces.
Colselaw - really good part of the pack as it balanced out the meal. Very yummy asian inspired slaw with some mint and fried shallots.
Chips - can't go wrong with chips. The seasoning of the chips were so so satisfying - salty but a hint of sweetness. However, unfortunately ours were very cold when they got to our table and were clearly not freshly fried.
Overall, the chicken pieces in the Nashville rub is much reccommended. However, I suggest the owners don't push back the in store orders for the Uber eats orders too much because we had a really long wait when we were only one of two dine ins and you sacrafice freshness of the food when it arrives at our table.
I am gonna make a big call here, but I think this place does the best fried chicken in Melbourne. Their chicken fillets with the Atlanta club sauce was amazing. The chips were fantastic, and surprisingly, the coleslaw was great too. So so good, and highly recommended as long as you arenāt watching your weight.

Firstly Wow and secondly double wow. Open for just two months in its current shop from, what was (and still sometimes is) a food truck produces quality fried chicken with really distinguishable coatings and real chicken ingredients.
The venue is quite humble and unassuming and there were some good sounds happening.
Like other places there is a range of heat levels but unlike other places there is a lot more going on than just blow your socks of hot. In fact the hottest sauce has zest to it and isnāt an absolute overkill on heat.
Today I tried all the sauces on various pieces including chicken with bone and thigh fillets. I prefer my chicken with bone (just like the finger licking process I guess). The unadulterated original drumsticks I ate had great crunch. My favourite coating was the hottest, asian hot Nashville (mentioned above). My second favourite was probably the mildest because it packed a lot of flavour to compensate for the lack of spice.
Popcorn chicken was heaped high and was made with a thin coating and real chicken tender pieces. The dipping sauce options were all good and I love the garlic and wasabi the most.
Potato gems were golden crunchy and yummy as you would expect and were also good for dipping. We really should see a cheese drizzled version of these soon imo.
How about a slaw that isnāt just a garnish? This slaw was asian inspired with fresh mint and delicious.
I sadly had no room for burgers and that was a mistake looking at several being prepared for Uber Eats which looked mighty tasty.
There is a 2kg Boneless chicken challenge in store that already has a handful of successful consumers photos up on display. Eat it all in under 24 minutes and itās free!!!!

On the back of their food truck success, The Art of Fried Chicken have opened a shop in Flemington.
As you can imagine, fried chicken is the star of the menu covering burgers, chicken pieces, ribs, boneless chicken as well as some tasty dipping sauces. You have the option to choose your chicken coating from spicy to mild flavours.
I like my fried chicken pretty mild so I really enjoyed the Atlanta Strip Club sauce. It had a lemony pepper flavour & made the chicken really tasty without being too spicy. I opted for the boneless chicken pieces & found the chicken was really juicy & tender.
The fries were delicious as was the Vietnamese style slaw which was a nice burst of freshness to go with the fried chicken.
It was lovely to meet the owner too, he talked about his food with such passion which I loved.
If youāre a fan of fried chicken I highly recommend checking this place out.
I tried this place today and really enjoyed it. As the name suggests they serve up fried chicken, chicken fillets and chicken burgers. You can choose your sauces/rubs which range from spicy to mild. My absolute favourites were the Atlanta Strip Club sauce and the Water Buffalo hot sauce. The Atlanta strip club was like a lemon pepper sauce with a great flavour. The Water Buffalo was rich and with a touch of sweetness which paired so well with the chicken.
The Asian Nashville run really packed a punch, if you like your heat then youāll love this. It has a secret ingredient in the rub which carries the Asian influence.
The chicken was cooked well and full of flavour.
We also tried the fries which were crispy and well seasoned and the potato gems which were a hit.
Finally, we also tried the burger which was great. I prefer breast fillet in my burgers but the flavours were there with a spicy sriracha mayo. Good brioche bun too.
We enjoyed our feast!

Had the spicy fried chicken, to be honest it may well be the best fried chicken iāve tried, so crispy. Service was quick and to the point. Definitely will be back.
Nothing too fancy about this location or layout, but that didn't matter. It's American style fried chicken, Vietnamese Slaw and chips were what we needed on a school holiday lunch. This place's chicken was crispy, succulent and tasty. A bit pricey, but great portions. Recommended for group fast food feeding!
Had this via Deliveroo last night.Ā Now, I'm a bit of a veteran of these food delivery services, and I am normally a bit dubious of the high ratings on Zomato and the like.Ā However, I was pleasantly surprised by these guys.Ā Got the standard burger with fries and some chicken wings, and was very impressed by all of it.Ā Great flavour - nice and crunchy skin with decent quality chicken.Ā I'm taking a point off because I thought the dips were a bit meh, but that's honestly personal preference.Ā I reckon even Sandor Clegane would like it

Amazing juicy chicken! So glad these guys opened in Flemington. Their chicken is incredible and really juicy on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside. I tried all the spices but I'd definitely say the Hot & Spicy coating is hands down my favourite, it may be a little hot for some people but for me it was perfect. Definitely recommend the Chipotle mayo too.
Fried chicken has definitely progressed in quality and quantity over the years. The latest addition to Melbourne is 'The Art of Fried Chicken' which is the fixed location for the food truck. I actually preferred this store to their food truck because they have more things on offer.Ā
The chicken itself is very juicy and tasty. Full of flavour. Crunchy. If I didn't wear plastic gloves, I would say they were finger licking good! I didn't try their burgers but they looked delicious. The chips were tasty and I was pleasantly surprised with the Vietnamese salad. Not the most obvious accompaniment to fried chicken, but it was a much needed moment of freshness after fried chicken.Ā
From speaking to the owner, you can really sense the passion behind it. There's nothing more delicious than drive and passion. I really hope it does well.

Above/below we have a huge menu of Fried Chicken related goods! These include Fried Chicken Burgers, Boneless Fried Chicken, Flavoured Deep Fried Chicken, Vietnamese Slaws, Chicken Seasoned Fries and a wide range of dipping sauces! My personal favourite was the Chicken burger, accompanied by a side of chicken salted fries with wasabi mayo! And some extra Original Recipe Boneless Fried Chicken on the side!!!
Whether you want a crazy 4 layer burger like my mate Aindog's Burgers, or a tray of fried chicken give them a shot! They will not disappoint!
Chicken was real good! Got to try a fair bit of the menu and myĀ personal favourite was boneless with Atlanta strip club sauce. The interior needs some lovin' but overall a pretty good spot for some fried chicken.

Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Loved their wings and ribs when I first had them at a food truck event. Recently headed to their newly opened shop in Flemington, tried the boneless chicken and they were incredibly juicy and tender. If you can handle spicy, I recommend the Nashville hot and spicy flavour, it'll definitely give you a bit of a kick! Not usually a big fan of plain fries, but the fries here are perfectly salted with a range of dipping sauce available!

I had to check out this former food truck business with a big reputation that has landed in my hood. We went for the 'The to share pack' for two comprising of 4 x chicken pieces, 4 x fillets, fries, slaw and two dipping sauces & can i say if you share it's much better value as all that food came to $30. We went for half-half, the boneless chicken with no spicy coating and the chicken on the bone with the hot spicy crumb. My choice is definitely the fillet with no spicy coating, it was moist and juicy with a nice crunch. The hot and spicy was also good but the flavour of the spice was a tad strong though i didn't mind the heat. The fries were crisp and cooked perfectly and the other star of the meal was the mama's vietnamese slaw, so refreshing with its mint, perfect relief from the salty crispy chicken. ln a street overwhelmed with Somali and Malaysian eateries, the recent additions of a burger joint, a fantastic curry house and now Southern American with an asian twist, The Art of Fried Chicken is a welcome addition to this emerging eat street.
NEW to Flemington! Checked out these guys on their grand opening where they offered $1 wings and ribs. Sampled the wings, Nashville boneless chicken and the Art burger. The Nashville coating was amazing. It was Spicy but not overpowering, allowing the flavour of the chicken to shine. Also loved the Art burger as it was quite unique. The flavours of the Asian slaw & coriander went really well with the crunchy yet juicy fried chicken and crispy bacon. Canāt wait to come back.
Some of the best fried chicken weāve ever had! These guys have killed it out of a food truck for the last couple years and have just setup a full time store in Flemington. They have a huge variety of flavours and sauces to compliment their INCREDIBLY JUICY chicken. You can order chicken on the bone or boneless varietyās as well as two different types of burgers. Our favourite was āThe Burgerā which had a delicious Vietnamese slaw that complimented the chicken perfectly.
Honestly... some of the best friend chicken I have ever had. Sorry for bad pic - was too keen to dig in that I forgot to capture the beauty of the fillets. So crispy, flavoursome and just wanted MORE. Literally enjoyed every bite and if these guys had a store I would for sure spend a lot of money there š

Ordered from The Art Of Fried Chicken two times now and fair to say it's one of my go to feeds in Melbourne! The chicken is just succulent and tasty, the coleslaw is great and the burger is absolutely mouthwatering delicious. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't been yet to go!

Who needs KFC!!!!!! The Art of Fried chicken has easily the best fried chicken going around. Chicken fillets, cooked to perfection with a good balance of crunch and juiciness. Not matter what time you go, everything fresh and tasty AF :) highly recommended for those driving through the area. You won't be disappointed:)
Had it today when i happened to see them along ballarat road. Delicious crunchy juicy chicken. The vietnamese slaw is also delicious - the little fried shallots in it make all the difference. The guys running the truck are also super friendly and nice. 10/10 will have again

The burger fillet is huge! They told me it was about the same size as 2 fillets but I reckon its the same as 3 fillets. With a sweet bun, cheese, coleslaw and sriracha mayo sauce the burger is definitely something I recommend.
You have to try this at least once in your life, the burger is to die for and the chicken by itself is just addictive, you keep going back for more even though you're full.

Full of flavour and has a unique crispy coating, I guess similar to KFC?? Sorta? Anyway, if you're a lover of Korean fried chicken and you're sick of it all tasting the same you should definitely give this chicken a try. I did and I can't wait to come back for more :)
The best fried chicken you will ever taste, I guarantee it. If you ever eaten Lawsons Fried chicken in Japan, this is it. This is the chicken that dreams are made of. There is an art to making fried chicken and they have pretty much mastered it.
They have got the Art down pat! (pun intended) My partner and I had the burger and we loved it, we were super full but could not resist the boneless, juicy, crispy and flavoursome chicken. The owner was super friendly and made us feel welcome. Will definitely be back for more goodness :D
Best fried chicken going around! The chicken fillets are my favourite. The fillets are always cooked to perfection. The outside is crispy with a juicy inside and mouth watering flavour. Great service and friendly staff to top it off. Get on it!

The fried chicken here is the BOMB DIGGITY! It is superb with a crispy golden coating, a taste to die for, and cooked to perfection. Teamed with the Mama's Slaw, it is the best accompaniment to these boneless fillet pieces, whether in the brioche burger, or as a side. The staff are a smiley, friendly bunch of guys who love what they do, especially the owner, Tung, who has dedicated himself in perfecting 'The Art of Fried Chicken.' You won't regret it; try it now!
The chicken burger from TAFC was awesome!! The soft brioche and fresh slaw on top of the crispy, succulent chicken was to die for!!! I will definitely visit this food truck again for my chicken fix.

Amazing tasting chicken. Pieces are massive and still juicy, taste amazing. He gave us complimentary chips which are perfectly crisp and salted. At an amazing price as well, definitely coming back
Hands the juiciest and tastiest fried chicken around. I love how it's so juicy and not dry. The crunch is spot on and the flavour leaves you coming back for more. The spicy is quite spicy so be careful there. And the chips are second to none, it's thick and also has so much crunch. I'm getting hungry again just thinking about the food as I write this review.

Great Food! We bought the Set Menu for 2, and it was easily enough to feed two people. They let us mix up the thighs and breast with various flavors, so we got to experience the full range. The spicy maple sauce was very good too. Overall, great chicken at a reasonable price for how much you get
Absolutely love this place! I usually order on UberEats, and once in awhile I come in the store to eat, particularly on Fridays after a few drinks with the mates. I love the potato gems and the art burger and would recommend 10/10. I've been eating at this place almost since the start.. I do miss the chicken with bones and the other fillets but the currently fillets are pretty good, but still prefer the old ones :(. The staff are very energetic and attentive, sometimes gets flustered when there are too many orders but I have noticed if they make people wait awhile, they are very apologetic and sincere. Love it! Keep up the good work!
Delicious, flavoursome and mouth watering fried chicken that keeps you coming back for more. Incredibly addictive flavour... you wonāt be able to stop at one! My favourite fried chicken comes from this place! It's so tasty, juicy, tender and a huge slice to boot. No other fried chicken can compare to the chicken that comes from this place. I got the normal flavour chicken and the honey soy ribs plus come chips.
