Love Sushi & Nori! I come here often for lunch and the sushi is super fresh and tasty. I usually order the red salmon pack or sometimes tuna.
I've heard the sushi train here is pretty good and it's always very busy, so I'll have to try that next time.
Been here a few times now and honestly food keeps getting better! I love how the sushi train here doesn’t get boring as new dishes always pops up. Probably one of my favourite sushi train places in Melbourne.
Highlights: tuna & avo tartare is my fav! Love the nigiris and karage udon is so good for $8 I’d happy pay for that.
Lowlights: its a little pricey and probably pricier than most sushi trains but I’d happily pay for it once a while.
Overall recommend coming here :)
Has quite a number of different sushi for you to choose :) the waitresses are really nice and polite. It’s way more interesting compare to Sushi Boto
Will come back for:
+ Karaage Chicken Bento box
This place serves great value bento boxes that are generally tasty, healthy and beautifully presented. The combination I had was a generous portion for the price and really satisfying for a quick lunch. Only comment may be that some of the items were on the cold side, but forgivable given the volume these guys are preparing for, for the lunch masses. Highly recommended!
Exceptional service. Quick, prompt and attentive. Staff are also super friendly. Nice ambience and great decor for a small food court in Collin square. Portions are on point, great as I was craving sushi! Thanks guys
I came here and had a quick lunch with their pre-made bento boxes. There are many flavours and all looked really healthy and tasty. The salmon bento box included a piece of fried prawn, a gyoza, and a good selection of vegetables (including a crumbed mushroom). It's really great to have such a variety in the vegetables.
I am so happy to find sushi train in Melbourne. Not bad but not mind-blowing. People, like me (?), who are used to Japanese sushi trains can find this eatery a bit "westernised"? May be it is just not for me. I found brown rice in sushi a bit weird and too chewy for the texture of sushis, though I get that it can be a healthy option. Also, I crave for some hot green tea to go with sushis. iced water with sushis? Hmm... I hope they offer at least self-serve green tea powder and hot water tap.
Sushi train for lunch is something that seems to have largely disappeared throughout the city which is why I was so glad to see a resurgence, in the recently expanded food precinct in Collins Square. It was like an old friend just turned up unannounced. This friend has a great variety of sushi/ nori doing the rounds. Traditional greetings when sitting down and leaving. My only complaint is that they have the seating designed for what must be the skinniest people on the planet and taking up much less room than myself and many of my dining buddies which means we sit on an end or we don't sit at all. Train plates comes in only two price categories so no need to worry about too many coloured plate combos. I found I need at least one premium and 2-3 standard dishes to fill me up. They do bento boxes as well but I have always gone the train. Wonder if they will ever do an unlimited sushi train deal?
Grabbed lunch here today. I had a tuna and avocado roll and a spicy chicken roll.
The tuna was ok, but the chicken had gristle in it making it chewy ana not the best.
And what’s w the cheap soy sauce?? The soy sauce used to be dark brown now it’s almost transparent. I’ve noticed this a few times lately.
Mmnn I think I need a break from sushi for a while lol
Amazing sushi to takeaway and also the sushi train is really good! Highlights were the seared tuna and the vermicelli crispy prawns. Cannot wait to come back again. Everything tasty so fresh and all the flavours well balanced.
Purchased the salmon lovers pack for $10. Rice seemed a little undercooked, salmon and avocado were both great.
The place is a bit pricey in general and the food doesn't live up to expectations.
This little Japanese sushi train lunch restaurant - called Sushi Nori - resides in the food court underneath 727 Collins St. The food court is bustling, modern and has a huge variety. Sush Nori itself has all the characteristics of a Twosheds favourite lunch spot. There is a wide variety of your usual Japanese favourites - think sushi, sashimi, tempura and others - circulating on a cute sushi train for sit down and also available for take away. The food is well prepared, fresh and delicious. This assessment is underscored by the fact that restaurant proper is packed at peak lunch time and there is always a queue for take away. Twosheds particularly recommends the hot bento grilled salmon take away (pictured). The salmon is always fresh, supple and beautifully prepared and grilled. The accompaniments are lovely too, even if the fried items are sometimes slightly overdone. Rating 3.7
I can't think of a more fun lunch! And everything was extremely delicious! I also loved that you could order off the menu if there was anything in particular that you wanted!! I was quite full and only paid $30 which was great for such high quality food. The only thing I didn't like was that the chairs were too close together and it was difficult to move your elbows around
Unbelievably good sushi! Highly recommend. The chefs are extremely talented and know how to create unique dishes. Very well priced too considering the high quality.
This place definatley is better than its rated, and the few reviews may prove that lol. It's a little pricey being $4.50 for the normal plates and $8 for the premium but there's alot of selection and every plate we had was tasty. It's a nice atmosphere and you get a nice Japanese greeting when you walk in. Good place, too bad it's only open on the weekends. Definatley recommend

Collins Square is a new commercial precinct a stone throw’s away from Southern Cross. It’s so new not all food venues have been finalised yet, however we were fortunate enough to be invited along to try out one of the already up and running food venues, Sushi & Nori. Sushi & Nori is a sushi train style restaurant, but forget about stale rocks of rice that has been sitting on the conveyor for hours and think more about freshly sliced, seared and fried meat that is constantly topped up.
I often cannot contain my urge to try everything at sushi trains, and this was no exception, as each delicious morsel literally passed in front of my eyes it was hard to choose where to start! In this post I’ll go over some of the highlights that I sampled including the tuna tartare, chicken katsu and ice cream.
The unagi bento was delicious and reasonably priced. Don't forget the nigiris as the fish is very fresh. The prawn udon was also a delight. Noodles were smooth and had a nice bite to it. The prawns were packed separately so that they remained crispy. Service is always friendly and efficient.
Take away sushi, udon, bento, plus sushi train.
Pros: Fantastic food. Really can't fault the food. One of the best places in Collins Square.
Cons: $10 minimum EFTPOS. The sushi train seating is a bit cramped.
This is perfect lunch set I have eaten ever. Chicken Katsu and salmon nigiri taste awesome.
Great quality food, not much variety though. Also, it's a shame the train doesn't run. Will be back and hopefully can increase to 5 stars
There are many exciting choices for workers to choose from at Collins Square food court especially at lunch time. My colleague and I are only eyeing for their Sushi Train.
The seafood is very fresh. They even make sushi with blackrice. Amazingly yummy. They also made sushi with brown rice. Their fried chicken is to die for. The deep fried prawn is so super yummy. Put it this way, every single dish on that train looks delicious. I'm sure they taste good too. We had 11 dishes. Satisfied.
We love this place so much that we decided to try their bento. We went with the Chilli Fried Chicken bento. It looks so inviting. It costs $14. The portion is big. There are so many pieces of chicken. The chicken dumpling tastes good although it's really salty. They could have pumped up the Chilli a bit more. It's kind of more sweet than chilli.
Overall, it's still a good place to go for lunch.
Good quality sushi.
The deluxe nigiri box was fresh and offered a good selection of 8 nigiris.
The take way boxes are on the pricier side however their sushi train is way too expensive. Starting price for a plate is $4.5. If you work it out you could be paying $9 for 4 pieces of nigiri lol.
Love Sushi & Nori! I come here often for lunch and the sushi is super fresh and tasty. I usually order the red salmon pack or sometimes tuna.
I've heard the sushi train here is pretty good and it's always very busy, so I'll have to try that next time.
Quick, fast delicious bento boxes with no wait time. Perfect for lunch.
