As a Turkish, it was the best kofte, kofta, chevapi burger in my life ♥️

I was so looking forward to trying this place and I’m so glad I did. The food was comforting and delicious. The service was friendly and place is very clean. Can’t wait to go back.
Got take away, slightly expensive but it was quality and yummy. I generally find sausages salty but these petite sausages were delicious😜. Friendly staff too.
Did not know what to expect when we came here as we had never tried Balkan food. The fried whitebait is excellent. The sausage although small is juicy and the accompanying sauce have that hint of spice but overall is of excellent taste. The service is friendly and quick too.
If you are after authentic quality Balkan food, look no further. These guys know their grill! Chevapi were most excellent, fresh and juicy with a nice smoky flavour!
Super friendly service, generous portion sizes, and delicious authentic food. Will definitely be back!
Firstly the service was fantastic! The fit out was very welcoming and the kitchen stood out being super clean. We loved the food and cannot wait to come back! Fresh, succulent meat / chicken and sausages straight off the grill.
My LOVE for Chevapchichi was born in the late 70’s when my Dad used to work at a German butcher in Adelaide that made their own...it grew even further when he opened his own butcher shop next to The Glenelg BBQ Inn on Jetty Road, which still makes and cooks their own marvelous little Chevapi on the regular, honestly they were BOTH amazing and they make those ones you buy at Coles/Woolies seem like tasteless brown morsels. The Chevapi at Chevapi Grill bought all those childhood mouth drools back with one bite. Honestly if you’ve never tried a proper Chevapchichi you are seriously missing out. I can’t fault anything I’ve ordered and eaten here, the Chevapi are my go to, in a bun for lunch or on a plate with salad, but everything else is supreme too, the meat Burek is great, they make one of THE BEST potato salads I’ve ever eaten, plus all the other salads are great too. The only thing I didn’t think was rave worthy was their sausage rolls, I was hoping it would be a Chevapi wrapped in pastry, but it was a different mix and nowhere near as good as my mums sausage rolls, so maybe you will love them because you don’t have my mums recipe hehe. The staff are lovely, helpful and always happy to adjust things if you wanna tweak or add to an order. Honestly just go, eat the Chevapi and be happy. WISH they delivered to Prahran...would love regular meat platters to my house hehe.
THE BEST Balkan food I have ever had! You will not be disappointment with anything that you order from this menu!! Also 10/10 customer service!
One word: Yum!
The food at Chevapi Grill rose to meet and blew away all my expectations. It was great to be able to experience unique Balkan flavours, which I must admit, were rather foreign to me as I’ve never stepped foot into Europe.
A huge plus is also the fact that this is a Coeliac Association Accredited Establishment! So Coeliacs, dine away!
What I got out of my visit was a delicious, hearty meal that both sated and excited me. The service was friendly and kind, and of course, the food was downright AMAZING. You won’t be short on choice either, because approximately 80 percent of the menu is gluten-free or offers a gluten-free option.
I’m determined to be back! And if you’re a Coeliac, you should most definitely give this place a go! I highly doubt you’d be disappointed!
Last week Coeliac Australia announced the newest Melbourne accredited restaurant Chevapi Grill. The restaurant is owned by Michael of the first accredited restaurant Mediterraneo, who is assisted by his son Stefan. Located at 283 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne the Balkan eatery is a fantastic spot for lunch or dinner.
Chevapi Grill is an excellent surprise in an area which nowadays has few surprises left. The Balkan Burger was amazingly tasty and juicy and it avoided any extraneous attachment to Anglo American culture. The taste was 100% Balkan and the condiments were equally authentic.
This restaurant is a great addition and something different for South Melbourne. I've been multiple times already and I love the Balkan flavours.
I'm not sure what favourite is yet, but the cevapi sausages in a roll and the cabbage rolls are definitely up there. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and there's a great selection of Balkan beers too.
I'd definitely recommend this place if you're missing European flavours or if you want to try something different.

Took a while for the food to come out around half an hour. Need to prioritise walk in customers over Uber eats ones !
Roll was good chevapi moist and juicy, haloumi not so
I have been looking forward to the opening of the Balkan Grill for a while as l wanted to try their kebapi roll. The kebapi roll was delicious and l loved the combination of beef, bread and peppers. The staff were friendly and the menu had a variety of traditional food in particular the burek made the way Baba does.
Really enjoyed the Pljeskavica (Balkan burger). Juicy with a rich, smoky kebab flavour. You'll want a decent appetite if you plan to have sides as well. Very friendly staff.
Delicious! Had the vegan burek, cabbage salad and cherry burek, so yum! They’re waiting on their liquor licence so will be even better soon! Great service and friendly staff can’t wait to go back
Ordered two burgers and a plate of crispy white baits. The bun was like a Turkish bread, nicely toasted. Chicken burger tasted like eating garlic bread, very flavourful but needed more meat. The beef burger had some chili paste, a little spicy and salty. Beef patty was just ok, tasted like a sausage patty without much seasoning. White baits were crispy and salty, pretty addictive with the sharp lemon aioli paste. Overall a decent meal.
Found this gem on Clarendon St between the covid lockdown in 2021 and had a few takeaways before. The restaurant is always busy and they have lots of food delivery orders while my friend & I were dining in last Friday. Food is served fresh and hot. Mash potatoes were a tiny bit weird on that day but overall meal was still satisfying. My favourite main dish is the cabbage rolls. Also shout out to the lovely staff, who is so busy, but still smiling with lots of warmth & checked-in with us when she had a free moment. Food is definitely worth the wait.
A Balkan lunch @ChevapiGrill in South Melbourne. I got the chevapi, house special Angus beef skinless sausages, with onion, cabbage salad and roasted pepper relish. Available in 5 or 10, 5 was more than enough for me. Very tender, still oozing some juices, tasty beef sausages, and enjoyed very much with the dressed cabbage salad and relish. The raw red onions are a bit jarring, they need a soak in vinegar or a quick heat on the grill. Tasty meal and the place is packed with a constant stream of people despite a late lunch.

Update: Very juicy and tasty ćevapi. Very friendly staff. Was there few times after this photo was taken and they're just amazing.
Excellent food. But staff a bit under the pump. Had to wait a while for my food. Nevertheless they were very polite and apologetic too.
I love this place, I got every other week.
The food is great.
The downsides are that the food can take quite a while and can oftentimes taste different.
It does deserve a 5 star rating tho, customer service is great and it's always inviting.
Delicious Balkanian food served by friendly and kind staff! Recommended to everyone!!!
Great Balkan food. Homestyle cooking.
