We were at Melbourne central shopping and ended up here for a quick lunch. We ordered chicken nasi goreng and it was yum! The service was good too.
We've been to this restaurant three times and each time we've not been disappointed. Very tasty fare with authentic taste.
Whilst Chilli India next door is still being renovated, from the same group (I'm assuming because of the similar signage) comes Chilli Everest, highlighting Nepalese cuisine and influences from its neighbouring countries in the north and south. Not sure if the whole seating stretch is reserved for Chilli Everest but we were lucky to grab a table next to the exit to little Bourke Street which was rather cold. It was by far the busiest restaurant out of all the shops with many patrons itching for something close to home.
There was lots on the menu that I was intrigued with but settled with their popular chow mein, Nepalese style. It was very tasty, the breathe of the wok still lingered in my mouth hours afterwards. It was also spicy and had raw pieces of onion which I adore. The pieces of goat wasn't what I expected, they were more the texture of jerky than being soft and tender.
On the side we also shared some chilli potatoes which I'm breaking into a sweat thinking about it, it was very spicy. My friend however loved it with his Thakali Khana Set which gave it that oomph, very much needed from his commentary.
No room to try their momos, maybe next time.
Ever tried Chicken Chow-mien in Melbourne? then this a best place to try Chicken Chow-mien here throughout the city. Delicious food at reasonable prices. a bit Oily, but can sacrifice that just for the taste. Tried it for 3 to 4 times and never felt bored with the taste. Masala tea here is also a worth and must a try here. Only problem here is with the seating, which never looks like a restaurant.
Good One, but could be better place which makes it a perfect restaurant!!

I was never satiated to this level in Melbourne. Tried the veg chow mein and jhol momos and loved every bit of it.
This is more of a Nepalese preparation and hence you get the authentic flavours.
I would recommend you guys to visit their atleast once if you love spicy food like I do.
You won’t get smiles from any of the staff working at this place.. the only look they give you is as if you’re a walking burden to them to serve lol.
But that has never stopped me from patronizing as their chicken chow mien is that damn good. I’ve tried other items on their menu but nothing comes close to this plate of bad ass noodles.
If only they worked with a smile on their face... must be all that competitive pressure from chilli India next door although it is owned by the same person. Oh well.
Can be a little crowded sometimes but I’ve always been able to find a seat. The momos both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are excellent and the chaat is also good. Also tried the pani puri but it wasn’t anything special. But overall the food is good and is a place I frequent when I’m in the area.
So here is the thing.... if you are from India and you are craving for “Indian Spicy kinda Chinese Chowmein”... this is the place for you !! We tried it twice and were so satisfied !!! The chicken momos are also pretty good.
Have tried their Masala chai as well ..... it’s nice.... but my advice... order sugarless as it can be too sweet sometimes.
Overall a 👍🏻. I am surely coming back for their chow mein and momos this winter ☺️
Sure, this place wasn’t fancy or that clean, but the point is the food is amazing! Loved the fried rice, the chow mein, and the mo mo. The puffed rice with goat was interesting too. Staff was friendly enough. This place should have a higher rating, just for the food.
very Yum! Got recommended the momos and the goat curry, so Yum! really full of flavour and lots of spice!
the staff are so friendly and funny
was hesitant to try new food but it ended up being great!
Thanks chilli Everest 👌

Craving for Nepalese Momos.. they have a great taste in the CBD. I loved the chutney they served with the momos. Its gonna be my must visit when I am in CBD
Awesome chicken momo at a great price. Will def be back to try other dishes. The flavours of the momo are well balanced and the chutney had a lovely kick.
The best momos in Melbourne! Always great service and fresh momos! They make it to order so it's always fresh. Good to have Indian street food in the CBD

What I like here is their Masala tea. The only shop in Melbourne where I got Indian masala tea in a good form. We very frequently come here with friends to hang out during breaks.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while as I love Nepalese food! Had the mee goreng a couple of times and it's absolutely delicious!! Tried the chicken momos the other week and they tasted like the ones I had when I was in Nepal. Chili India is next door so we always sit in that restaurant, ordered Indian food from there then head over and order Nepalese food from Chilli Everest. Will definitely recommend this place! Must try more things on their menu next time!
Chilli Everest, Melbourne Central, cuisine - Nepali. I will start by giving this place a 5 just for their yummy absolutely knock out of the park chilli momos. If the photo doesn't tempt you not sure what is wrong with you. It is authentic, it is spicy and it is vegetarian!!! They have plain momos as well if you are not courageous enough and they are almost as good. Their other menu items are wow including their Puri Bhaji (fried bread with potato curry), thukpa (noodle soup). The other highlight is it shares the space with Chilli India so you can order from there too - who can say no to chilli india veg biryani, Manchuria starters? So it is two in one package you can't ignore. A must must try with a plethora of options for vegetarians. Make it a mandatory stop every Melbourne central visit! Shopping and delicious food - who can beat that! I'm not familiar with Nepalese food but my Nepalese friend says this place is authentic, so we went together.
We had his favorite "momo", popular "chow mein" and the day's special "something(I forgot) goat".
Even I asked for non-spicy both noodles and dumplings, they were a little spicy. It was tasty tho.
One thing disappointing was the table and the bench were not clean☹
Chilli Everest was a wonderful experience. I ordered the Pav bhaji, chilli momos and dahi puri (these are all snacks). The bhaji was different to the typical spice filled Indian bhaji but this Nepalese and not Indian. I enjoyed all three dishes but the chilli momos were the real winner. It was filling, spicy and full of flavour! Can't go wrong! I will be coming back for those chilli momos and hopefully post a picture up here.
Chilli Everest is the first Nepalese restaurant I visit and it was a very good experience. Not as popular as the next-door Chilli India, Chilli Everest offers a good selection of authentic Nepalese food.
I had the chicken thali and it was excellent, with so many textures and flavours, some of the totally new to me. It was hot but a happy medium. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the lentil soup was so good! I loved everything in my plate, but a bit of more meat would have not hurt anybody! The chicken was on the bone, but if you wanted boned ask for it upfront.
The chai tea is authentic chai, very sweet, spicey and flavoursome, not the Westernised version one gets usually, although perhaps not as sweet as the chais I have tried in the Himalayan area and India.
The staff behind the counter somewhat pushed me to get the thali, which I had not problem getting, but I sometimes wish that people listen more and push less. Anyway, I liked the thali.
The waitress is delightful!
I will be back.
This is located right next to Chilli India, I don't know if this place is owned by the same person, but I love both the restaurants. Whenever I'm homesick or I miss home cooked food, I just come here to overcome that feeling and it helps ! :)
So this time I tried Poori Tarkari, the shape of the pooris dont look round in the picture but that didn't matter because it tasted just fine.
I loved how they garnished the tarkari with chopped red onion and tomato (just like home).
It was delicious and worth the money.
Located at the ground floor of Melbourne Central, so it's very easily accessible.
I loved their food I tried their Thali, I love chilly in my food and loved the different validation of spices and chilly in every item, if you haven't tried Nepalese place, thus place will give you an experience closer to authentic Nepalese.
I love their spicy chicken jhol momo the most!! Can't live without it!! Me n my bf go there almost every week , always crowded there and hard to find a seat but it's worth to wait
Typical Nepali restaurant. Food tastes good. Rice dishes and noodles are the one to try out here. Momos were yummy. Chicken nuggets were but below average.
Best chow men in the town based in Melbourne central. Serving size and service quick and easy. Place has a shared seating but MC provides heated space so OK for melbourne winters.
This is the best place to eat Nepalese food in Melbourne. Our must go to place when visiting city. They have good variety to choose from and everything on the menu is just delicious.
