Came here and try filter coffee. It was a little sour and nice. I also bought a few bag of coffee beans home and got 3 free cups of coffee too.
I just can't visit a market without having a caffeine fix, so luckily the Queen Victoria market has quite a few good options. Market Espresso has a great location on the edge of the car park, so is very convenient to stop for a coffee before entering the markets.
I love this option as I have always found the service to be really good. Quick, efficient and lovely staff that seem happy to chat despite the fact that it can be really busy at times. The coffee is of a high standard, and there is a good selection of pastries, sandwiches and cakes if you are hungry. I also like that there is some seating, so it's good if you need a rest as well. Definitely a great choice if you are visiting the markets.
Fantastic coffee in the heart of the Queen Vic Market. The coffee was strong with a complex flavour and perfectly frothed milk. Definitely my new market favourite!
There are quite a few coffee places in and around the Queen Vic market, but I like this place the most. Their mocha (regular/soy) is one of the best I have had in Melbourne - it's thick with great texture throughout. The cup tastes pretty consistent each time, though the coffee isn't that strong. Also, strongly recommend their scrolls, cronuts and croissants - they're so good!
Because they're almost at the back side of the market, it's a relatively peaceful spot - a nice place to hang and enjoy the coffee.
I love the design of this place. Simple, not super pretty, yet felt cozy. I went here to buy a take away coffee but ended up having it there. The coffee here was okay, albeit weak, nicely frothed but the art wasn't that pretty. Still not a bad place for a coffee if you are in Queen Victoria market.
It was a cosy cafe with seats facing the Queen Victoria Market. Polite people in there, too. I had the Hot Chocolate during the Winter Night Market and it was a pleasing sight, sipping the dainty drink (not too sweet!) while people watching.
Liked the coffee here, and the service is good as well. The coffee could have been perfect for me, only if the flavour was a little more intense.
Best coffee at the vic market by a long way. Rich honest tasty coffee that gives you a kick and a wake up. So much better than crappy fruity hipster coffee like at market Lane.
For coffee, it's the best at the queen v market hands down. No pretense or bs, just good coffee, cakes and friendly staff. What more could you want? People need to remember it's not just a fit out, a bunch of hipsters and an attitude that make good coffee and good business. These guys are the real deal.
They have lactose free milk! My husband can only drink lactose free and doesn't like soy. Being from Brisbane we were very surprised to discover that no one was offering a lactose free milk option. Hubby also likes a syrup in his coffee, which no one in the CBD seem to have. But Market Espresso do! Coffee was really nice, food good and service friendly.

Awesome coffee and toastie
Dropped in on a Sunday, the place was packed . Venue had a great vibe and friendly staff.
Coffee was the best I've had around the market and the chicken baguette was to die for ....
Highly recommend
Yum!. Carrot cupcakes sourced from 3 Bags Full in Abbotsford are the BOMB. Coffee is awesome as well - had a iced coffee last time with no sugar or sweeteners and it was probably the best unsweetned iced coffee I've ever had. Thank you barista lady
Hands down best coffee in Melbourne, but be warned, you will become a coffee snob. Thanks to their perfect piccolo's my coffee machine at home is no longer used and I refuse to have coffee anywhere else. To top it off, the guys are awesome. Need I say more?
Best coffee at the markets
Must be good even LouisK likes this place
Friendly service, and great coffee. Will be back for an early morning warm up for sure!
Great service, coffee and food!
Best way to start sunday.
Great coffee. Best cappucino ive had in a long time, i was sad to see my coffee end, i wanted more and more
Decent Coffee. Decent coffee (beans by Di Bella), pastries by Noisette, friendly service - you could do much worse in the area around Vic Market.
And hey, you can hire out a trolley while you're there!
The service is warm and goes that little bit extra to make you happy, like giving out free ground coffee samples when you ask what the blend is like.
Great service. Coffee was nice. Cute takeaway cups because I forgot my keep cup. They also sell keep cups which is great. I bought a Portuguese Tart for my mum so will let you know how it tastes.
Excellent selection of pastries and light lunch options. Lovely staff. Quiet nook on the edge of the chaos. They haven't tweaked prices because of covid and just offer amazing value. Thanks folks for being so nice to visit.
I can't say that this is the best coffee in Melbourne but it's the best latte at the QVM. I'm a bit fussy and at first sip I found the coffee a little bitter. But the more I drank it, the better it tasted. So the baristas are doing something right and they look like they're enjoying themselves at the same time. It's also a nice place to sit and enjoy some people watching and let the world go by. I recommend this place!
This is a perfect location for a quick coffee and breakfast or lunch at busy Queen Victoria Market. Although on the pricey side, the coffee is good and the lovely pastries, especially the blueberry custard tart, even better. Nice atmosphere and a great place to take a few minutes out of your market shopping and just sit, relax and people watch.
This has become my regular spot at the market. Quite a wide seat if keep cups, is what I first noticed. And they also have trolley hires if that’s something you’re in need of for your shopping.
Coffee tastes ok, a little burnt for my liking, but very consistent. Prices are higher then normal, but still reasonable considering it’s in the market; I tracking rent here isn’t cheap.
Either way, come here for a warm coffee always served with a smile.
Really great coffee here. They are certainly not very shy on the sugar and chocolate powder if you decide to order a frothy cappuccino. Great place that has survived the harshest of totalitarian lockdowns. Also if you buy their packaged coffee here, you get a cup for free.
Just one of many superb caffeine outlets within the Vic Markets...
The caravan sports a range of pies and the price for Almond Croissants, perfect.
