This hole-in-the-wall off St George's makes a really great bagel. The choices aren't super varied, but there are several vegetarian options both sweet and savoury. Bonus points that two have haloumi, which I can never pass up. I tried the Kramer (haloumi, giant chunks of avo, cream cheese, lettuce, tomato) and the Richard Lewis (egg, cheddar, barbecue sauce, rocket). The second was my favourite, surprisingly. I loved the former as well thanks to the haloumi, but found it was a bit bland for my liking. Perhaps a pinch of salt would have helped. Either way, super impressed with the reasonably priced soft, doughy bagels and friendly service.
Lovely little place, bagels are always toasted right and plenty of toppings, could use another vegan option but theyre always happy to change up any bagel. good choice of music too. wish it was open 7 days
Larry David’s is located in a nondescript shopfront along St Georges Road, Thornbury. Small and cosy with limited seating, the focal point of this bagel cafe is the large mural of the namesake, Larry David.
Each of the bagels on the menu have been named after characters from Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm. We ordered the Elaine with smashed avo, feta & mint and the Jeff Greene with egg, cheddar, ham & hollandaise along with coffees to drink.
The bagels are served half wrapped in aluminium foil making them easy to hold and eat without making a mess. Both bagels were delicious and filling and are perfect for when you want a simple, quick and filling feed.
With just one person manning the store when we visited the order took a little longer to come out as they also had a number of ubereats orders at the same time. Despite this the overall service was good, the server was laid back and friendly.
We discovered Larry David’s via @eatclubapp and scored 30% off our meal making it an absolute bargain. I suggest that you keep an eye out for them on EatClub. Overall I enjoyed my meal loved the tribute to Larry David. I give Larry David’s ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5.
Great bagels and an amazing mural on the wall of the man himself Larry David. The owner is super chill and happily changed my bagel order to make it vegan and added ingredients for no extra charge.
Woweee these bagels are good! I got the haloumi and avacado salsa instore at Larry David’s today and enjoyed it so much I had to get another for the road. Packed full of ingredients, And the coffee was great, I’ll be back for sure. Thanks LDs!
I eat Larry davids bagels probably 4 times a week. Love their bagel sandwiches!!
Sometimes go into the store sometimes I just ubereats it if I am lazzzy. It’s not really a sit down sorta cafe more just a takeaway vibe. But it’s just on St. George’s road so it’s real quick to grab takeaways. Coffee is decent as well from atomica which I ve always been a fan of. Really friendly people who work there but it’s normally kinda to busy for chats 🐕
I ordered a bagel from here around 6 months or so ago and found it very disappointing. But I went back today and found them hugely improved! It was delicious and the coffee is always great :) Will definitely be back!
Love em loads but this stupid review has to be 140 characters so i cant stop there but yeah love em. Good on you guys youre doing grouse xoxoxoxoxozozo
Huge improvement! i've only ever ordered through uber and when i first did a few months back i wasn't a big fan, the bagels were way too tough and cold, ordered today skeptically and was v pleased! my bagel was still warm and they left me a cheeky wink on the box as i'd asked for alterations! really impressed! thanks heaps LD! 💕💕
Larry David's maintains a simple and small shop on St Georges Road. Good fresh food and decent coffee, the staff are doing a great job with their first cafe ! Keep it up guys !
Just a simple place run by a couple of young people.
coffee was good! bagel was good!
just a tiny store so i wouldnt expect a any massive cafe.
Got a bagel through ubereats today and it was really good! I had one a while ago when this place first opened and it was alright but they have improved heaps since then. Close delivery distance to my house and really resonable price. I mean $10 bucks for a avocado bagel. pretty prettty good
Good service, pretty good food. A change in the skim milk they use could make the coffee amazing. Cute little place to grab a bite to eat...
Great bagel in new location!
Had a bagel and coffee this morning. Was pretty good. Really small store but got chatting to the people who run it which was nice. I had the tram stop bagel. Really tasty, was barbecue sauce, mayo cheese and egg on a fresh bagel from five and dime bagels. I already loved five and dime bagels so this was a no brainer for me.
Great takeaway bagelry, lacking eat in options.
Food: Fantastic bagels - my girlfriend and I had a mushroom and eggs benedict bagel respectively, which we were both left extremely satisfied by. 5/5 for flavour, value and size.
Coffee: Average, but good enough. Thornbury & Northcote have so many coffee options it's hard to stand up against for coffee alone, but it does the job if you're not too picky. 3.5/5
Ambience: I'm afraid this is where Larry's is a bit of a let down. While the record player and greenery beneath the fantastic Larry David mural add to the feeling of the place, We kind of felt like we were eating in a takeaway fish and chip shop with oddly/mismatched recycled furniture. While they're clearly aiming at the takeaway market, It couldn't hurt to put some more emphasis into the presentation of the place for those that want to eat in. 1/5
Great coffee, great staff, Awesome bagel!
Came in over the weekend and enjoyed this small cafe so close to home.
Coffee was decent, service was lovely. Bowie on the turntable whilst Neil Young's Harvest waits in the wings. Yet to try the bagels, but I am anticipating the perfect brunch.
Great New York style bagels and excellent coffee (ex Proud Mary barista minus the attitude) I had avocado and Haloumi with cayenne, my partner has shaved turkey, Swiss chees and cranberry plus lettuce, tomato etc. Reasonably priced and good value for money. Service from Callum and Emma was great and they let you listen to vinyl LP's while waiting or eating in.Fantastic addition to the area by two young professionals. Just next to a tram stop too. How Melbourne is that!
Whilst i haven't yet been to Larry's, to honour his approach to cusine and life I am going to rate this is one of the most fantastic cafes I have ever been to in Melbourne.
