I loved the decoration, the chart on the black board was interesting telling you what sort of person is the most likely to get a coffee. The coffee was superb if it was not that I might get a heart attack i will def get a second one. The owner being the soul of the cafe was really friendly, you feel like he is just a friend even it’s the first time you ever see him. My go to place in Melbourne 😀

Grabbed a quick hot chocolate and almond croissant for a breakfast run. Popular with local folks for coffee. Service is friendly and efficient, plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

Really good coffee. Great tunes, and a friendly crew serving. Narrow little cafe, indistrial decor, some outdoor seating.

No fuss cafe with clean design lines, great coffee and efficient and friendly service. Nice owner who looks like hes working hard every day.

One of my favorite coffee spots in Melbourne. Fantastic coffee. Made with care and artistry.

Located near the corner of Spring Street, this place has good coffee, good music, and a great sit down vibe. I'll be back next time I have another break this end of town.

Good place for a coffee before work. Sadly they do not open during the weekends.

Love the coffee and the atmosphere. Friendly and down to earth team who are always down for a chat. They are very efficient in making coffees and no matter how busy they are they still deliver quality coffees with a smile.
The Cafe itself is modern and inviting. I've tried other cafes within the vicinity and this is the only place that I can get this ambience and quality coffee.

A good cafe near my work and I'm a regular. But a hit and miss with things - a certain barista can make my coffee taste the best! I get my usual flat white from this place and occasionally a mocha. The hot chocolate is too sweet for me so I ask for no chocolate powder on top.

The ham cheese tomato Toastie is really nice too with sourdough bread.

...that explains that they run a sustainable no frills business, making sure to use ethically sourced beans from another one of my westie cafes "The Social Roasting Company" and I'm guessing organic produce (and milk!). I was utterly mesmerised by the lit from within silhouettes that make up the coffee bench! If only i could get a replica and put it on my wall- check out my picture below and on their website!... It kind of reminds me of me... well I'm not as delicate.. but I know it would inspire me to drink coffee everyday! The coffee, with real chocolate sprinkles (a winner for me) was a the perfect warm anecdote on a very chilly Melbourne Afternoon

Glad they have re-opened. Due to the Christmas and new year break the Truffula Seed was closed for 3 weeks. Which they deserve mind you. Today was their first day back after the break and I must say I couldn't wait until they re-opened. As usual the service and enthusiasm hasn't changed, they are simply great with everyone and their coffee, the best I have had in 3 weeks. Keep up the good work. We have missed you. Best of luck for 2015 Guys!

-----10 Nov, 2014-----

The best coffee I have had in a while. Walked in on my lunch break from across the road. Was greeted by the staff who all were pleasantly happy and vibrant and welcoming. They even remembered my name which I was a little surprised. Hats off to them. I ordered a medium latte and before I knew it, they called my name and it was ready to go. I sat down read the paper and really enjoyed the coffee and the atmosphere. Great music was playing in the background and the place was buzzing. I will definitely be back again and again and I might even bring my colleagues.

Unlabled food caused anaphylaxis. I never go for coffee, it is too terrible (cumulus Inc and Tom thumb just around the corner). But I did buy a bircher muesli. it wasn't labelled with any ingredients. it contained peanuts and I was off in an ambulance very quickly after that. the following week I discussed with the cafe the problem, and they promised their supplier was going to produce labels as an immediate course of action. of course three weeks on they are still selling unlabelled products that contain life threatening allergons.

Dont waste your money. This place is just a glorified coffee cart, and the coffee is horrible. Unfortunately it is very close for people who work in the building but trust me, take the walk outside to get a decent cup of coffee. They continuously use the incorrect milk (not putting skim when I have asked), the coffee is not strong enough but when you ask for strong it is usually burnt and bitter. The staff are rude, and to make it worse the owners don't know what they are doing behind the machine. There is no wonder 70% of the building would rather go a little further for a decent cup of coffee.

Worst customer service ever. Staff here are rude and abrupt. The main girl serves me with a stony face, never smiles and never greets anyone. Instead of handing me my change, she just plonks it down on the counter. I'd go somewhere else but there aren't many places around so I have to endure the terrible customer service.

Cafes in building foyers are mostly average but the coffee here is good and I like that you can get different sizes. The previous reviewers should get their facts straight. Cumulus' coffee is way more expensive ie 50c more! And the concepts are different.

Not again. Sometimes the coffee is nice but the customer service SUCKS, I have decided not to go back! The coffee at Pei Modern (in Collins Place where the Post Office used to be) is good, their customer service is excellent and their small take-away cups are bio degradable so you can compost them!

An oasis serving the best long blacks in town, and the perfect hot chocolate. My first choice for winter warming.

Wonderful service and super delicious coffee. Such a lovely welcoming environment with people who really know their stuff. Will be back soon for sure! Thanks guys!

Consistently excellent coffee and really friendly service. For those who don't want coffee, try the hot chocolate - it's fantastic!

Bad Coffee and Poor service. These guys are out of control - rude and angry, if the coffee was amazing may be able to understand the attitude but nothing to rave about here at all! The coffee is usually luke warm, and tastes bitter! Cafe 53 and Cumulus are the only way to go if you are looking for coffee in this area.

These guys are total tools. I see they are looking to add someone 'friendly' to their team.
About time.
Overpriced coffee, too-cool-for-school service, and food is poor.
Avoid at all costs

I go here for coffee every morning. I love it. The coffee is excellent. Great staff, happy atmosphere. These guys know everyone in the building and regulars come from a distance. Try the 'guest' specials, beans from around the world and local. Quality !

Fantastic coffee. This is the first place where I've been able to stomach a double shot cap - I usually hate the lingering bitter taste after a strong coffee, but this one is so smooth... I've become a regular. I especially like the staff's outfits here.

A cute eco-gem amid the hustle and bustle of a concrete jungle. Fab sweet treats, coffee and staff. If it's not too busy the barista makes for great conversation. A little hard to find but like all hidden gems that's the beauty.
