Staff were friendly and welcoming, food was very nice service was efficient. Didn’t have to wait long for food which was of a good quality enjoyed by all. Serving sizes were big enough to feed 3 people easily. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Super cheap and delicious food at this Malaysian venue. We over-ordered significantly but we tried to finish as much as we could.
We ordered:
- Pork and mushroom Dumplings
- Chicken and Sweet Corn Dumplings
- Vegeterian spring rolls
- Satay Chicken skewers
- Pork belly bites
The only thing we did not eat at all (other than a bite) was the pork belly bites. We just weren’t fans - everything else however was so delicious, we left far too full because we just loved it all.
BYO wine was also a bonus. We will definitely be back!

Located in the busy center at Chinatown city orchids it’s good to a family dinner or just to a date, have plenty of space and separated rooms. The menu have a great variety of choices either for vegetarians. We were a big group who shared a lot of plates and everybody was very satisfied. Good comfort food with efficient service and a friendly staff.
Not bad as the rating score.We didn't tried the dumplings,so no comments.But what we ordered definitely fit the normal level of the restaurants in China with a bit sweeter which should be the regular tastes of shanghai and other cities around.

While reading their menu by the doorway, we were invited in by friendly funny staff. Even for an early dinner (5:30~ish) most tables were occupied.
We were seated straight away with drink orders taken immediately. The drinks (water, lemonades and a wine) arrived within a minute and food order taken as soon as we were ready.
Service was very fast, and ALL staff very polite. Even getting the attention of other staff who were re-setting tables to ask for a drink refill was welcomed and served with a genuine smile.
Food came out promptly, was lovely and servings are generous, though we did have to check on one dish that may have been forgotten to be brought out. It was then delivered straight away (still nice and hot) by the Chef with his apologises.
Food:
Spring Rolls (Chicken) - Nice but the sauce was a bit bland.
Honey Glazed Chicken (with cashew nuts and chips)- Very nice flavour, not overpowering and sticky with honey. No chips were served. (I only remembered it was meant to included chips while doing this review)
Lamb Ribs. A thin crispy exterior encases the tender meat.
Calamari Spicy salt & Chilli - nice batter, tender calamari.
Steamed Rice
Drinks:
A bottle of water provided for us all and replaced when near empty without prompting.
The wine menu could have a few more "by the glass" options but was adequate.
Atmosphere:
The "Aussie radio" type music was not in keeping with the vibe of the restaurant. I would've expected cultural or "elevator" music.
Due to 1 forgotten dish and no chips served with the chicken, I only rate it a 4. The service and quality of food still outweighs these oversights.
This restaurant is absolutely amazing!!! The food is extraordinary. The service is wonderful. Their chicken and corn dumplings were fantastic!!! I left, saying to my sister, that that was one of THE best meals I have had in a long time. Thank-you so much. We will definitely be back in the very near future.
My partner had tried this before and said it was amazing. So I had to come and see what was the fuss about. We came here pretty late considering it opens to midnight most days. We ordered the Orchid Banquet for $48 per person which included, sweet corn and chicken soup, steamed home-made bbq pork buns, San Choi Bao, seasonal mixed vegetables, Peking duck, beef tenderloin and special fried rice. Their was so much food we couldn't finish it all. We had to take away so much of it. But I have to admit for a small little restaurant hidden away on top of China town it is amazing. One of the best Chinese restaurants Ive ever been too. My favourite was definitely the beef tenderloin the flavours was mouth watering and the meat was cooked to perfection as each bite you take it basically melts. Definitely recommend coming here for a nice dinner you will not regret.

The dumplings here are hands down the best in Melbourne CBD. Absolutely amazing. The only thing better than them is the service by the wait staff, they are a fantastic bunch. I've never had chocolate dumplings before, but my word, they were fantastic. Couldn't get enough. Will be back but next time with an emptier stomach!

Great dumplings, great service! Probably the first time I've ever been excited for beef dumplings! All you can eat is definitely worth the Monday night out in the city. It was the ducks guts.
I've been here about 4 times now for the unlimited dumplings and every time it's been a great experience, well worth the $20, the dumplings especially are amazing and you've got to try the chocolate dumplings when you come here. Always a very chill venue and great to bring either that special someone or the entire footy team.

Beautiful little place in China Town. The wait staff are very friendly and very welcoming. If you can't use chop sticks make sure you ask for cutlery. This was the only down side to the whole place as we had to wait a few minutes while out food was here to find and ask wait staff for a knife and fork... After receiving them we dug in and oh my! The food is Devine! We had the pork belly bites for entrée, Singapore noodles and honey crisp chicken. The flavours were subtle at first bite but then exploded with the delicious Asian spices.
We had a group of about 17 people for the $20 dumpling buffet. There was a nice variety of dumplings, all were served hot (some maybe even too hot). The chocolate dumplings were not the best kind of sweet pastry I've had; the filling was so hot and the pastry was basically burnt. We get the bill as soon as the 90 mins are up, despite the almost empty restaurant. Got a bit of a giggle from the sign indicating the broken toilet door lock though.
This place is really cool, the manager is hilarious and we had a good chat about tea eggs. We had the $19.90 Asian SnackFest, which was pretty good. The fried rice was life-changing. The atmosphere is really nice too, not too crowded.

Hi! Had dinner here with 3 of my best friends. All I can say is that this restaurant serves absolutely delicious modern Chinese cuisine! We started with the Pork bites (a crispy mantou bread slice topped with mouth watering pork belly), Dumplings (juicy and extremely tasty), Crispy Pork Hock (the meat just fell off the bone and melted in my mouth), Beef Ribs (WOW, WOW, WOW) everyone in Melbourne needs to try these ribs, Kailan (traditional green but topped with fried Kailan leaves) and not to mention we finished with chocolate dumplings (a modern twist on traditional dumplings, but oozing with calories but who cares). Amazing food! I can't believe how delicious the cuisine is here. The atmosphere is elegant and their staff is quick with service and always with a smile.
We ordered a variety of dishes including old favourites like Mongolian Beef on a sizzling plate, and a very unique Crispy Tofu featuring apple / lime / chilli dressing that was out of this world.

My daughter and I walked around looking for food after she got a late flight from Sydney and just about everything was shut -10:40pm - so we were please when we discovered this place open until midnight!
Staff were friendly, attentive, & fun to chat with. The food itself was great, although perhaps a little more expensive than I'm used to, but worth it though. Szechuan beef, and lamb ribs in mint plum sauce ...plus a couple of mango beers 😊

We went for the $19.90 all you can eat dumplings. The first hour was dumplings galore, with servers walking around with big dishes, plopping them down on your plate. It was truly beautiful. I was in heaven. Or maybe I was just a bit drunk from the pre-beers we had over the road. The vegetable dumplings were the best but we only saw those once. The chicken and corn, and the curry beef were also pretty good. The seafood dumpling didn't smell or taste like seafood, not necessarily bad tasting, just confusing.
The last 30mins of the set time the staff and dumplings disappeared, a pity because I could've easily spent another $50 on booze alone if I could find someone. Oh just be warned, the chocolate dumplings - not made with nutella. Tastes like cocoa in a paste ? They weren't horrible. But I probably wouldn't eat them again. We will go back here for the dumpling banquet though, the quality and cost was great, and the venue itself was clean and upstairs had a nice atmosphere.
Apparently these are new owners and the former weren't too highly regarded. Whatever the story, this place is amazing. Couldn't fault a thing.

We came here for the all you can eat dumplings and i found the service very friendly. There was a constant supply of tasty dumplings being circulated. I would not say they were the best dumplings ive ever had but good value for money.

First of all I'm going to say I wasn't blown away, but I wasn't at all disappointed. I came for the $19.99 unlimited dumplings and I left sated and full. The dumplings were enjoyable, filling, and not in short supply - they were not kidding, it was indeed unlimited as stated, and plenty worth the money. The service was friendly, and they were apologetic when our time to leave was up (they have a strict timing policy for a certain number of bookings over three periods).
However, here is where it fell short, and that's the dumplings were not competitive. The price for the amount was fair, but without the digging desire to make a pig of myself I'd probably be happier elsewhere, as the dumplings were slippery and hard to pick up - I tend to see this as a show of how well they were cooked. They weren't undercooked, but they were a little damp. The atmosphere was plain and unexciting, but not dingy, so I give pry average points for the feel of the place. It wasn't too loud so that's nice.
Overall, I liked it, I would definitely return of I'm hungry, but the atmosphere needs just a little bit of work. Very nice.

Fairly priced restaurant in China Town. I would recommend you the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao. Very juicy and delicious.

Came here on an unlimited dumpling night and it did not disappoint! The dumplings were all delicious and they just kept coming. They were always hot and just so yum. A special thankyou to Anna who went to every effort to ensure our vegetarian friend always had an ample supply of vegetarian dumplings. Will definitely be back!
After reading the negative reviews, I was trepidatious about dining here. However, my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the dumplings, especially the beef, pork and chocolate ones. The ambiance was also pleasant, with a tasteful music selection. I shall gladly return.
Pretty good, went in for the Monday nights unlimited dumplings for $19.99, it was pretty good and worth it if you can eat plenty. Vege dumplings were the best out of all of the flavors available. Chocolate dumplings for dessert were amazing, otherwise service was also pretty good.
Came here after seeing the facebook event for unlimited dumplings. They have unique combinations for their dumpling fillings. However I recommend the chocolate dumplings. It sounds strange but it tastes so good!
My wife and I have been eating at Orchid Garden for 8 years. The food is a lot better than the average Chinatown stuff. The chilli plumb duck is awesome. Mongolian lamb is also very good.

Wow, what can I say, besides DAMN!!!! This masterpiece has far exceeded my expectations of what your average diner should be eating. The service is second to none in both efficiency and quality. I was always nervous to eat a dumpling until I stumbled upon this garden. The variety and limitless supply is truly breathtaking, literally, I gained at least 4kg after this experience, and I'm not even bulking. Please take your friends, your missus or even your pet cat or dog, you won't regret it.
We came for dumplings and as soon as we reached the front entrance we were greeted with a friendly hello. As soon as we sat down we were inundated with dumplings. The dumplings were both succulent and delicious. The lemon lime bitters were also very good.

Came here for the $19.90 all you can eat dumpling special after a friend recommended it. All the dumplings were well cooked and the selection was diverse enough that all our of group(some of which can be picky) were able to enjoy themselves.
They were very generous with the servings, not once did we need to ask for more dumplings. They kept coming.
My person favourite were the curry beef. Very original and tasty.
Great night with the boys. We came for unlimited dumplings and stayed because we couldn't fit out the door. The lemon lime & bitters was perfectly crafted to form waves of pure bliss, massaging our taste buds into ecstacy. The dumplings, each with their unique key characteristics enchanted our minds through our mouths and serenaded us into a food slumber. We will be back.
We booked a 8pm - 930pm all you can eat dumpling session that was advertised on Facebook. All I can say is how I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the staff as you walk in.
We were seated near the door to the kitchen and within moments was inundated with freshly steamed or fried dumplings. The curry beef dumpling was a surprise at how succulent it was in flavor. However the main eye catcher of the night was the combination dumpling consisting of prawn, beef and chicken. The filling was filled with lovely juices from the three products and was very satisfying.
The staff were very polite and friendly with requests and very quick with the food as to not get cold.
All in all, was a very good meal and experience for only $19.90! Not to mention their lemon limes bitter are crazy good!

Just had dinner here! Being Chinese myself I was surprised as to the quality, flavour and authenticity of the food. Staff were very attentive and friendly. We ordered the Banana Leaf Salmon and chili plum duck along with some mixed vegetables and orchid special fried rice! Will definitely return to try other dishes.

Returned to the restaurant last Friday evening after dining there 3 months ago! I was surprised that a lot has changed, new tables, new chairs, bowls etc! The service was pleasant and brisk! We ordered the Pan Fried dumplings as a starter and they were divine, wanted more but we had already ordered Cantonese Fillet Beef, Chilli Plum Boneless Duck and some seasonal vegetables along with steamed rice! I have to say the meal was so enjoyable and delicious that we had to ask the waitress if the restaurant had changed hands, she replied "No" but explained the owner had employed highly skilled chefs from Hong Kong and China! These chefs know their craft! Thank you, we will be definitely back! Congratulations on such a transformation!

$20 all you can eat dumplings on a Monday night was a lot of fun. $4.50 beers. Nice music and friendly staff. Sometimes had to wait a little while before more dumplings would be offered. The dumplings were good without being great. Would definitely go again and have recommended to my friends
Food is average. A little bit saltier for me.Location is good which is in China Town. I bought vouchers so the bill is so affordable. It cost us only $45 for three people. The atmosphere is nice. But cooking time is a little bit slow.
