Delicious pizza with a crisp crust. A thick layer of topping which is rich in flavour. The meat is juicy and the base is firm and solid. Even though it was delivered, the pizza was still warm and crisp.

Tuesdays have the best pizza deal in town. Back before I became the food snob I am now, Pizza Hut used to be my favourite "mass-food" pizza chain in the United States. In Florida during the mid-1990s, the Hut used to offer an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet at lunch, with an AYCE salad bar plus unlimited refills on your soda for a ridiculously cheap price, like U.S. $5.99. I could put away 20+ pieces, more than two medium-sized pies, along with a plate of salad and two or three litres of diet Pepsi. I'd gorge like that at least once a month. I eventually kicked the habit because I'd feel sick and get heart palpitations afterward from the salt, fat and chemical overload. But I still remember Pizza Hut fondly.

The chain in Australia offers a deal on Tuesdays when you can buy two medium-sized pizzas from their average range for $10. Ever since I got a flyer for this in the post, it's been nagging at me to try that deal. I finally gave in. For research purposes only, just like the Japanese whale-killers, of course. I wanted to see how Aussie Pizza Hut compares to its American parent.

Sadly for my blood pressure, but happily for my taste buds, this Pizza Hut's stuff is not bad! The base on the thick-crust 'za was just like I remembered from the U.S. I don't know how Pizza Hut does it -- probably some chemical additive that would horrify me if I was aware -- but the bottom of their thick crust has a crunchiness like it had been brushed with olive oil before baking. The red sauce is mildly spicy like the American version, and the Hut is generous with its toppings. (Not as abundant as Patony down the street, though.) My only whinge is that there's not enough mozzarella, but I say that about almost every pizza Down Under. In America, cheese is sprinkled like snow. It's one of the reasons why Seppos are so fat. I might be having that problem myself, because now that I know I can get this fantastic bargain of two pizzas for $5 each (only on Tuesday) I'm plotting when I can go back here and do it again.

This Pizza Hut is literally perfect every single time. We order ritually on Friday our pizza through Doordash and it arrives hot, fresh, divine every time. Generous topping, absolutely the best value for 3 x pizzas, 2 x sides and 1 x drink. Why pay $100 at the fancy places when you can get all of that for under $50? It’s also great the next day heated up in the oven. Delish.

After a long spell overseas, this place was my first option. The service and the food were both excellent. Don’t be afraid to order something other than pizza because whatever you order will be on point, sure as hell will be coming back. Or ordering delivery.
