Bought a pack of 4 bread rolls here for a mere $2. They were extremely soft to the touch so I decided to give them a shot. I must say I wasn't disappointed.
Usually bread like this tends to be dry or becomes hard quite quickly, but even after a couple of days these were still very moist. I ate them as is as well as toasted and both tasted great, so I can't ask for anything more especially considering the price.
Haven't tried their other pastries or the meats but I must say the meat always looks pretty good. Would consider giving it a shot next time.
Basically just a hole in the wall type bakery but they've got quality banh mi.
Haven't tried their other stuff since my body is a temple and all... well that and the fact my parent's bakery is where I get my sugar fix.
Awesome Banh Mi... pork belly with crackling, perfect.
They offer different types of pork, BBQ pork, pulled pork or pork belly.. I'll be back again soon.
Pretty good. Heavier than your traditional banh mi and no fish sauce. The salad roll came with carrot, lettuce coriander, beetroot, onion, spring onion and tomato. Efficient and friendly. Plenty of staff as it is so busy!
For the longest time I didn’t realise this place had a name, it was largely known as the bakery shop inside the Spotlight Centre, also known as South Melbourne Central. It of course, has a name. It’s usually the cabinet of delightful looking bakery items and pies that gathers the most of my attention, and everything is well priced giving it that neighbourhood family store type of feeling. Recently Bakers Central has ventured into doing Asian/ Vietnamese-styled meals as well.
Best banh mi in the area, simple as that. They have a good selection of bakery products that are fairly cheap. But go there for the pork roll!
I have certainly tried pork-belly rolls in the past, but the ones from Bakers Central are probably the most AMAZING pork-belly rolls in South Melbourne!!!
Bbq Pork Roll. Amazing bbq porl rolls, bit of crackling to give it some bang. A favourite of mine
Delicious bbq pork roll with fresh bread and hot crispy pork belly. One of the best in town! Ask for extra coriander and chili if you like it.
