Review Ziyka Brunswick - Melbourne

Place didn't seem much light. It was like searching place in the dark. I was totally dissapointed after entering the store..so dull and boring. Also the food was so expensive with less quantity. Also the plates and glasses were not washed properly.

Very bad experience for a Sunday night dinner. Starting with the crockery all dirty (even the replacement was dirty), water bottle. Staff looked least interested in providing a good service. Unfortunately, we ordered the starters so had to stay, otherwise it's all very sad to see a restaurant with such good reviews offering a very bad customer service. Now for the food, we ordered Chilly Chicken and Chilly Paneer, for both the dishes, onions tasted really bad(probably kept for a long long time and gone stale). You guys really need to have a serious look into all of this. Very disappointed

Been here many times but yesterday’s order was beyond disappointing!! Naan was rubbery and hard, the goat palao tasted stale with almost no meat and whatever meat was there was dry and hard, the chicken dish was swimming in oil and half the dish was oversized whole and sliced chillies. To make it worse, we were over charged and when we called we were told that the prices were correct and the prices on the online menu on their webpage was old. Definitely not going back and surely not recommending. Don’t waste your time and money here.

We ordered ziyka BBQ platter, butter nun and chicken karahi. BBQ platter was good enough. Flavor of the meat was really good, but the meat is bit dry. But we really liked the chicken karahi very much. Mild spicy and the gravy was smooth. Good environment as well.

One of the best Indian/Pakistani Restaurants in Melbourne...The food is just wow...I had lamb Roghan josh with naan for mains and for starters I tried chicken malai kabab..both were out of this world...best food in town..would love to go again..

First of all on website it’s showing zaika restaurant….its not zaika its lahori restaurant….bed food no taste and very expensive….many places have karahi price’s are between 19$ to 21$ they selling 29.30$ which are pretty expensive…if you compare with more restaurants…. Waste of money and time

Day by day the quality is decreasing. at the beginning their food was super great and used to serve huge amount. Now the prices have been increased, serve less and moreover last 2times I had food from them made me sick.

I have eaten in many indian restaurants and this is one of the best.We tried the Ziyka Brunswick for the first time last night for a family gathering/ birthday party and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The waiters were attentive .The service was very friendly and efficient, easily coping with our large party of 15 Food arrived piping hot and in good time. The menu contains a good number of house specialities which are a cut above the normal menu offerings. I tried one of these and it was delicious Overall a good meal and great value. The restuarant was clean - could do with some redecoration but this was nothing serious. will certainly be going back.

The vegetable curries were just straight oil and liquid. The dal had nothing in it except liquid and all of the food had very basic flavours. We love butter chicken and the butter chicken we received was unlike anything we have had and not in a good way. Wanted to really like it as it was recommended by a friend but it was all a big let down. Maybe just a bad day?

Insta: melbfoodie_mark
YT: MelbFoodieMark
** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne!
-
ABSOLUTELY LOVE this place. One of the most affordable and authentic Pakistani restaurants near city. Whenever I go, it's always full of customers :) I often go for their $9 "Rice & 2 Curry" combo and believe me, they give HEAPS. Lots of herby meat chunks and curries full of flavour.. every bite is w.o.n.d.e.r.f.u.l. I got to admit that plating/presentation isn't great but I still think this is a good place to go with friends for late night food. Highly recommend this place!

Taste was very good. Probably one of the few good Pakistani restaurants in Melbourne.

Overall it is a value for money restaurant specially on Wednesday and Thursday. The curries are really good in taste and quality. The naan bread felt more like frozen ready to eat rather than house made and freshly baked, which was disappointing. Otherwise it’s a best value for money restaurant to try Pakistani and Indian cuisines.

The most recommended dish from my experience would be the samosa chat.

If you’re looking for a $20 feed with a healthy serving size, you can get two currys each with either naan or rice! The chicken archari was the best curry with an awesome kick 🌶 !! The naan bread was great too, we recommend the garlic naan. Service was above standards, the people working here are so catered to the customers we left with big happy bellies. Con:
- would prefer a greater variety of currys for the deal.
- vegetable curry was too sparse on the vegetables ! (Was only carrot, potato and capsicum)

All in all, you will be leaving with a big smile and a big belly ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

One of the Best Indian Restaurants at reasonable prices

Food was rather average, not as good as their Carlton branch. Had ordered chicken and goat karahi along with Sahi Tukda (which was just toasted bread in Luke warm coloured milk) simply tasteless. Food took forever to arrive although we were only customers at the time
But the staff was really good and very helpful

Standout dishes were the achari handi and butter chicken. The most authentic tasting butter chicken I’ve had. None of the overly creamy and extra sweet many restaurants tend to serve to appeal to non-desi palates. This is the real deal. The tandoori platter was good but I wish they did lamb seekh kebabs as well. The mutton karahi was a bit disappointing, was quite bland. This was the dish I was most looking forward to so will not be ordering again. The naans were ok, garlic naan just had garlic paste out of a bottle instead of fresh garlic, which was not great. Hoping to go back to try the chicken karahi and the nihari.

Kadhai chicken and saffron rice ..... bliss.

Will say naans are free but will charge you if you order garlic naan or butter naan and would only tell you when you're about to pay.

Great food with great ambience. Service is top notch and the deals are amazing
The food tastes extremely authentic and delicious
By far the best indian/pak food in melbourne, MUST TRY!!

OK food and service, the menu said that serve size for curries could cater for 2, that was just barely though, naan size was very small and at $2 a pop, no value for money whatsoever, the garden salad was basically half a cumber and quarter of a loosely chopped onion. Something that I won't recommend to friends or would like to go back myself.

Chicken biryani , chicken bharta, and galic naan, all these i had... and it was lovely. No complains what so ever.

This new Ziyka Restaurant opened 3 months ago. I ordered 1 roti, 2 plain naan and Mutton Karai. Mutton was very tender and not extremely spicy. For my opinion, I tasted the Karai better than Carlton one. Very enjoy my late meal.

Ziyka brunswick is by far the most authentic and delicious Pakistani/Indian food I’ve come across in Melbourne
Food feels like home, the ambience is amazing and the staff is very welcoming
Great service ! Great food ! Great deals
What’s not to love ❤️

What a rip off. I love their Gajar halwa and often get take away and he overcharged me saying it’s a bigger box so he needs to charge on top of the menu price (I didn’t ask for extra) and it was actually the same size box as earlier..no different and no bigger or any more than usual quantity..like they want to take advantage for being busy. Happy to pay the price as long as it’s on the menu. I didn’t argue and paid the extra but no ethics...no business. Not going back at all.
