Review Ace Poke - Melbourne

Jack McCardel
I had an excellent chicken poke bowl with edamame corn rice and to my delight avocado! Tasty meal and great flavour. Bright place and nice staff

Amazing Poké here! Get a loyalty card, because you will be back! I usually order the salmon bowl, and pay for extra salmon. I love the taste, the portion and how customisable it is. It’s quite pricey but I think it’s well worth it.

So tasty and fresh! The prices were cheap too compared to other poke places I’ve had.

Good variety of toppings, proteins and bases. Service and staff were a bit slow/average.

LOVE LOVE this place for my weekly poke bowl. i go here often and i love it. its always delicious and flavourful, love the little seasoning they put on top and the salad dressing. i love the option of brown and white rice and how it comes warm and not cold. i love how fresh and simple the ingredients are. i sometimes think they are a bit stingey on the portions and it varies depending on the person serving you.

Slow service.. Very limited choices for toppings. They don’t make it in front of you like at other places. I don’t mind paying extra money for good poke’ but this was just not a good experience for me. No sauces on top and just not a whole lot of flavour in general. I was disappointed and was not overall excited to eat it... which is how I usually feel about eating it.

Tried the Chicken Banger bowl which is one of their recommended options. Chicken was rich in flavour paired with teriyaki sauce, it goes well with a brown rice base and my selection of toppings. Also got recommended to try a 62 degree poached egg on the side, which was a nice addition and complimented more flavours into the bowl. I’d say poké bowls like this one are great lunch options as you get a variety of ingredients all in one go, and there are a good range of options as well, will definitely be back again to try other fish options!

Ace Poké is a newly opened poké place located in the heart of Melbourne city - just across Emporium. You have the option to go with their set bowls or to customize your own with desired toppings. Their range of protein is diverse - from seafoods like salmon (sashimi and flamed), tuna and prawns, to slow-cooked chicken, as well as vege/vegan flavors like egg roll and tofu. I personally really like their flamed salmon bowls, you have the option of a soy or spicy mayo flavor, it tastes delicious coupled with a rice base that leaves your cravings satisfied. There are also a wide range of vegetable toppings - edamame, corn and seaweed salad are popular options and go well with any poké choices. Price-wise, I think it’s very reasonable considering the portion size and the amount of fresh ingredients on offer, they do give you quite a good amount of the poké! It’s a very good lunch option for on-the-go or if you’re looking for a healthy meal!

I’ve had the salmon + tomatoes, seaweed, tofu skin and cherry tomatoes. Was kinda let down that there’s never any chicken left (3 out of 3 times here) which was why I went with Salmon.
However, the food here is fresh, tasty and I was not disappointed (:

I customised my poke bowl for lunch today. My rating is average mainly because the portions were small (especially salmon, I counted like 6 mini salmon slices). I asked for wasabi mayo sauce but it tasted quite bland, as if they forgot to put in the sauce. Price is also quite steep at $13.50 ($2 for extra egg, which is my own fault and craving). The good parts of the dish was the great tasting pineapple and seaweed - but really, any poke restaurant shouldn’t screw that part up! Sorry - have tasted better poke bowls in this city!
The Honest Glutton
Came here after craving a good poke bowl! Definitely satisfied my hungry soul. The ingredients were fresh. They happily switched my white rice for brown rice free of cost too, making it healthier.

My friend had the unagi and i had the seared salmon. Really good and filling! Loved the fresh veggies, was a lot tastier when I added a ton of shichimi and some soy. Wished there was more salmon, but still would come again. Overall very tasty with friendly staff!
Crabapples For Lunch
Had their Ace poke (salmon sashimi) bowl for my Mealpal lunch today. This outlet is pretty small, no doubt primarily for takeaways and deliveries, but there are a few 2 seater tables, bar stools and one communal table of 6 here. I came 10 minutes after they opened and the place was quite warm, warmer than it was outside, but I'm not sure if they just hadn't turned the air conditioning on yet. There was only one person manning the outlet at the time, and he was busy preparing bowls for a delivery person, so service was a bit slow.

The poke fad is pretty strong in Melbourne at the moment, but I haven't really gotten caught up in it, but I do like my salmon sashimi so I decided to give it a try. The bowl came with edamame, salad leaves, corn, wakame and avocado, and the salmon had spicy mayo on top. Overall, the dish was quite nice to eat. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the rice was warm. The spicy mayo was quite spicy, but once you mixed it through the dish it was quite pleasant to eat. The salmon was cut into a good size, large enough that each piece with a bite felt generous, but I had to ration it a little with the other ingredients and would have liked slightly more. However, considering the usual price of $11.50 I think it's passable. I would have liked a bit more avocado as well.

All other ingredients were prepared well, but I feel I have to point out: they aren't exactly difficult to prepare. Poke bowls are kind of the Hawaiian/Japanese equivalent of Subway - even sushi rolls require more effort to put together to be honest. And considering the amount of rice you have in there, I agree that it's a decently healthy option compared to fried or oily food, but it's not exactly the super dish or weight loss wonder that proponents of the fad would have you believe. And it certainly doesn't demand the high prices that some places charge for it.

That said, at the usual price of $11.50, it's reasonably good value for money for a filling meal. I haven't tried many other poke places but I'm pretty happy with this one.

Ace Poke served a variety of poke bowls, and you could also mix and match, building your own bowl. I tried their Soy Ahi salmon bowl which came with the usual poke vege; the vege were fresh, the salmon was tender and juicy. However overall it was a bit dry and lacked a bit of flavour and texture. Nosh’s were much better.
Edison970206
The food is so good here and healthy, salmon is fresh. Especially the flamed salmon, I love it so much. I will definitely be back again and try the other bowl.
Some Bunee Loves Food
The flamed salmon is marinated and really flavorful. It arrived warm as you can see in the lid. I did a custom one with corn, edamame, pineapple and inari (tofu skin) on brown rice. Added the spicy sauce and it was really spicy. There wasn't any other sauce choices so it was a bit plain.
Sesame Eats
Ace Poke is indeed pretty ace; it offers very tasty options compared to other poke places and at a good price as well.

The meats come with an option of sauces - the spicy mayo salmon in particular is very tasty - while the rice comes with a mild soya sauce so it never gets too plain. Also, the seafood mix here (usually advertised as crabmeat at other places) is a tad better than its competitors in my opinion.

The price is slightly cheaper and the service is quite decent. My only complaint is that the interior is a bit small and uncomfortable, but it is primarily a take-away store so that’s the way to go. I highly recommend coming here for your poke cravings.
SJFU
The Tuna Tartare salad is really delicious, a bit small though. Neither the service nor the decor of the cafe are anything special but they do good Poke (with unique options like unagi and onsen egg) in a prime location.
Melbourne Food Monkeys
Flamed Mayo salmon bowl in picture.
Compared to many other poke bowls, the flavours are really great and all the ingredients complement each other quite well.
The only negative is that while the portions initially look very generous like in the picture, it’s actually a bit of an illusion created by a great deal of rice underneath.
Manu
Not sure if it’s what I got but not the best Poke I’ve had especially for what I paid. It was definitely missing a lot of things. The only sauce was on the salmon, could’ve done with a drizzle of something over it all. Probably could’ve done with more toppings but 4 is max and you pay for any additional topping. Also, you’d have to pay extra if you wanted two different proteins which is understandable but yeah.
Alice
Ordered:
------------------------------
Flamed Mayo Salmon Bowl - Didn't know that they were going to fully cook the salmon, which ended up tasting a bit disappointing. (Thought they were only searing the outside.) Regardless, wish they gave a bit more protein. Also, they only put sauce on the salmon making the rest of the bowl very dry, so we asked for more sauce. Other poke places usually mix your toppings in with the sauce and even offer to put sauce in the rice.
Daisy Duck
Simple and healthy lunch. U can either order from the menu or u can personalize ur meal by choosing the type of rice , toppings and meat u want. Which is really flexible. Short waiting time as most of the ingredient are prepared in advance and the meat is flamed on the spot. Recommend flamed mayo salmon. Feeling healthy 🤭

I am extremely disappointed with my meal I received on Uber eats from ace, we ordered the large bowls which came to $20, firstly our order was wrong and secondly the food was 1/3 of the way full, we finished our meals in 3 bites we were shocked as to how little food there was. For an expensive meal that probably costed you 3$ to make as there was such little food I wish for a refund.
Kerli Kerli Kerli
I ordered flamed mayo salmon bowl while my friend ordered soy ahi tuna bowl.. ingredient was fresh and tasty.. however, you can make your own bowl by choosing the protein, toppings, base & seasonings..
JoSong
I have tried many pokes in town but this one is the worst in terms of serving portion. As you can see, only half of the small bowl is filled with food and it costs $19.5. Won’t recommend this one to others.
Affogato Addiction
Nice poke options, build a bowl or set menu items.
Free soy milk was a nice add (for month of August 2018).
Inari bowl, $9 small size, with extra egg $2, satisfying and filling.
Flambe salmon mayo, good flavour.
Very clean fitout. Bit disappointing that eat in its also in disposable bowls but I guess this it "fast food".

4.5

Ace Poke provides fresh and delicious Poke bowls with a point of difference. Their signature bowl which has a torched salmon is one of the best poke ideas I have come across. The ingredients are also very fresh and you can see it in the vibrant bowls they pump out. Flavour wise , the fresh ingredients with the sauces provide a beautiful healthy meal

The interior is very modern and the seating is very cute and suitable for this quick meal. The service we experienced was also very fast, attentive and lovely .

Thanks for having us!

I had Ace Poke Bowl with spicy mayo as takeaway. Biodegradable container is a plus. Very fresh ingredients and it is definitely a lighter lunch or dinner compared to other takeaways. I will go back and try their flame grilled items next time when I have time to dine in.

Best poke I’ve ever had. So good that I scoffed it down before having the chance to take a photo so here’s a nearly finished photo. They use very little plastic so it minimises waste. I always order the salmon poke with flamed salmon, 2X avocado, seaweed, tomago egg and white rice. It’s the most mouth watering and filling meal that’s perfect to have when you want to be a little healthier. It’s always fresh and flavoursome and if you ask for extra sauce, they’re more than happy to give you soy sauce or something else. The rice comes soft but chewy and the raw salmon cold and the flamed salmon warm, which is EXACTLY how I like it. Every texture and flavour is perfect.

Thumbs up for these guys. Ace Poke has gained one more regular customer. I usually went to Poke on Little Lonsdale but since I moved house it was a bit far for me to walk there. However I found this place today when I tried to search for poke around me. The portion was generous, the flavours blended well together. I will definitely come back to try more dishes from here.

By the way, I gave a 4 not 5 because I went there at 7.30pm and after giving the meal, I asked for the soymilk which promoted to be free with any bowl purchased, then the staff told me they ran out since they were closing in 30 mins. I would of been happier if they informed me before I ordered or maybe gave some extra topping otherwise :)

It’s like eating sushi in a plate, very healthy actually. Even the smaller plate very full. The place look really fresh and clean with minimalist style.

really hard these days to find affordable healthy food! that being said, this place is an exception. i got the spicy salmon one and it was really yummo! can’t wait for my lunch breaks and try out their other poke dishes! :—)
Dine And Dash
Ace Poke (pronounced Poh Kay) is a relatively new eatery located at 231 Elizabeth Street in Melbourne’s CBD – right near Melbourne Central so it’s handy if you need a break from shopping! We were invited here to try their Hawaiian Poké bowls. The restaurant was quite small but aesthetically pleasing with bar stools along the street facing window and along the wall with a large table in the middle. The decor is clean, fresh and inviting. Although this isn’t somewhere you’d come for a long leisurely dinner with friends it's more of a quick tasty meal at lunchtime, before an evening movie or in between shopping as they close at 7.30pm.
This place is quite unique as the proteins can be torched on request to enhance the flavours. They actually use a blow torch but it’s amazing what a difference it makes to the flavour. I thought this was quite interesting and was eager to try it out.
Tonight, we went for dinner at 6pm and we were greeted by a friendly and most helpful server. She explained the menu to us and told us what she recommended. We both chose to build our own bowls - one with chicken and the other with salmon with white rice for our bases. The chicken was cooked (torched) well and the salad ingredients, for example, avocado, edamame, and cucumber complimented the meat very well. The salmon as well was exceptional and the overall presentation of both dishes was tidy, meticulous and very generous.
A 62-degree egg is available for $2! They have loyalty cards, where you get stamps and different freebies like a free drink, poke and bowl are on offer. One of the better loyalty cards around. The bowls are cardboard (environmentally friendly) and you can just ask for a lid if you want to take it away. Handy.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will most definitely be back to try another one of the protein selections.

I visited Ace Poke this week and really loved their variety of choices. I feel their bowls are a little more refined than some others poke restaurants around.
These people have fish options with a difference. Yes they have delicious fresh salmon in a glorious spicy mayo but the standout here is the Flamed Salmon and the Flamed Prawn. Served warm they are super tasty. The prawn in particular had this delicious sweet miso that really made the flavours stand out. A must try.
They have all the normal choices to fill the rest of your bowl (white rice, brown rice, salad, quinoa) and a mix of protein and veggies. I went for the seafood salad, edamame, corn and avocado. Hear all mixed well with the prawns.
I really enjoyed these bowls!
Thanks for having us!

Soy ahi tuna bowl! A bowl of healthy and fresh meal~ the Tuna is so fresh :) a bit of wasabi mix in the sauce. Not a big fan of Wasabi, luckily it is not that strong. The portion is quite big as well

Flamed mayo salmon bowl was definitely a bomb with the brown rice option!!! A heart warming and healthy lunch option for this kind of weather.

Great and friendly staff, clean and welcoming environment, will definitely visit again soon!!!

After trying the Teriyaki Chicken poké last time, I was glad to see a variety of options available on the new menu. I opted for the Chicken poké with black pepper sauce and it did not disappoint! The sauce is drizzled over the slow-cooked chicken pieces and also goes well as a dressing for the toppings and rice. It was a nice and filling meal - perfect for lunch and when I was looking for something which had protein, carbs and veggies.

The staff were very friendly and had great customer service as usual, I was also offered a loyalty card, which is handy as I’ll definitely be coming back to try other Poké Bowls! :)

Pictured is the Teriyaki Chicken Poké bowl with an extra serve of Flamed Soy Ahi Salmon, a pretty nice combo as I couldn’t decide between the two proteins. I received a generous portion of the chicken, which were succulent and tender, paired with the salmon which had just the right amount of soy flavor and were a little softer in texture. The combination of teriyaki and soy sauce goes hand in hand with each other, not to mention the rice was also well cooked, and I also liked how each of the veggie toppings had its own flavor and texture, the bowl was enjoyable in the way that you get a variation of flavors that goes well together, will definitely visit again!

I was keen to try Ace Poké and had the signature Ace Poké bowl ($12.5) - it has salmon sashimi with spicy mayo, edamame beans, seaweed salad, salad leaves, avocado, corn and rice. I had the regular size, and at first I thought I could easily finish it and plan to have dessert later elsewhere - I already started to feel full halfway into my bowl!

I couldn't detect any heat from the spicy mayo, but it's a nice flavour. As you can see from the photo, you do get a generous serving size of the salmon! All the toppings were fresh and healthy. My only criticism is the rice was very heavy and sticky, I would have preferred a more 'fluffy' textured rice to go with all the toppings. Or, if they start offering sushi rice as one of the bowl options, I will definitely have that instead. But overall, it was a lovely, affordable and healthy lunch option, I look forward to trying other Poké bowls!

EDIT - I have since gone back again to have Ace Poké bowl, this time with brown rice instead of white rice. Much better since their white rice was a bit sloppy. They currently have a winter special, where you get a free cup of warm soy milk with every bowl purchase. They also have a loyalty card program now. Nice!

My friend recommended me to here and this place was great! I love the tuna sashimi and taste so good with their house make soy sauce. Their sell the miso soup for 1 dollar and definitely worth a try, warm me up during this cold weather!

Recommend by one of my mates to come over to this relatively new poke place. Was surprised by the freshness of all the ingredients available. Definitely will come again and would recommend this place to anyone seeking a healthy and quick meal option.

Tasty and fresh, this bowl was so well put together. I loved the spicy mayonnaise and the edamame beans. It was pretty reasonable for the price and the decor of the restaurant was warm and comfortable. Would be returning if in the area

Tried the ace poke bowl and it indeed is an ace. The warm of rice makes this cold dish suitable for this chill weather, and all tops match nicely. A lovely fresh and healthy experience.

Loved the poke bowls here. They are so fresh and healthy with a variety of toppings. They also torch your salmon to order and it was soooo tasty. You can pick from set menu items or create your own bowl.

Yum! So glad I stumbled upon this place, oh so very randomly. It’s fresh, delicious, a range of flavours to choose from and fairly priced. Can’t go wrong with a loyalty card program they’ve got going on as well.

Ace Poke was a great experience. We tried the chicken and the flamed salmon and both were absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we washed it down perfectly with a couple of Kombucha's. Would definitely recommend

Another Poke to tick off my Love for poke bowls.

The flamed sashimi salmon was the bomb! It’s full of flavour and that flamed tastes hits the spot. The rice is perfectly seasoned with some soy keeping the meal fresh and tasty. Unlike some poke bowls that are dry this poke bowl has the perfect balance. We also had their special unagi bowl which was delicious and another unique variation. They also have a 62 degree egg for $2! But we didn’t realise!

Jumping into the Melbourne poke scene is Ace Poke. They've got a similar concept to others in the CBD, a pre-constructed bowl or create your own poke. Since I was rushing back to work I got their Ace Poke Bowl.

The regular bowl at first glance looked small but they really pack it in there and turned out to be quite filling. The chilli mayo with the salmon was mild, I'd like for it to have a bit of a hit. The toppings for all the pre-constructed poke bowls are the same (wish they were more creative), I think I may have enjoyed it more if I created my own but it sure was healthy. The rice itself was okay, felt it was a tad too sticky and made it difficult to mesh all the ingredients together.

Overall decent bowl of poke, cheap, healthy, filling.

Forgot to put chilli mayo on our first trip but still so good that we had to come again!

Tried the seared salmon, salmon sashimi and the tuna with soy ahi dressing. All were filling and delicious.

Such a cute an vibrant little eatery! Loved the Flamed Mayo Salmon Bowl and the Flying Miso Prawn. Fresh ingredients and great flavours. A healthy and satisfying meal at an affordable price. Will definitely be back!

Ace Poké has just joined the Melbourne poké bowl scene. Ever since coming back from Hawaii, I have been obsessed with poké bowls, so when I heard this place had just opened in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, I had to go check it out! With a variety of topping to choose from, it is so easy to create a custom bowl just like we did! All the ingredients are so fresh and are perfect toppings for any poke bowl creation. If you’re in the city, I highly recommend trying this for lunch or dinner!

Such a good poke! The ingredients were super fresh, I was given a lot of tuna and that was just the standard portion! I'll definitely be back.

Poké was good, nice choices for toppings. A bit disappointed my special request for no mayo was not carried through though. They said my request was okay with them and yet they proceeded to put mayo on

This is one of our 2 favourite poke places. We love their prawns as they put some asian sauce and sear them, hmm so delish! I also like their toppings just more interesting than other places (more asian)

However ,it takes longer time for them to cook some ingredients if you are in a rush I recommend order something like raw tuna or salmon so you dont have to wait for them to sear the meat.

An excellent Poke bowl place near MC - If you enjoy poke bowls then you next stop should be Ace Poke. It's a newly opened poke bowl located in the city that offers variety of different dishes. Having the option to either pick their popular choices or create your own poke bowl gives this place an edge. Our favourite poke bowl was their Flaming Mayo salmon which was super tasty and delicious.

We noticed their ingredients were really fresh and unlike other poke bowls we have tried, they are generous with their ingredients. Again, it's a great option if you're looking for a healthy and guilt free meal - definitely a place to visit again if we are in the city!

Thanks again for having us!
www.instagram.com/dailyfoodnews

A brand new Poke store popping up near the intersection of Elizabeth and Lonsdale Street, Ace Poke is the latest to the healthy salad bowl trend. Poke bowls are the tasty, guiltless craving for university students and office workers alike. This store is sure to be a go to option to put on your list if you’re keen for an affordable, delicious and efficient meal that leaves you feeling healthy after. An enticement of loyalty cards also makes this a local, budget-friendly option for those working in the area.

This is the the best poke bowl I ever had in Melbourne, especially the flamed salmon, other poke restaurant don’t have this. I go there a lot of time and the chicken is also very good, it was so tender, and now they have loyalty card, when you get 3 stamp you get a free drink, I will definitely be their loyalty customer.

After hearing that a new poke place had opened up on Elizabeth St, I couldn’t wait to go check it out! Unfortunately, however, I was left quite disappointed after my experience.

Ace Poke offers a variety of proteins, with unique ones like tamago and inari, but I was most excited to try their seared salmon, which I’d heard good reviews about. I opted for a create your own bowl, with seared soy salmon, edamame, seaweed salad, tamago and inari, and furikake seasoning. As I was hungry, I decided to go for the larger size (+$3), which I definitely regret doing as it really didn’t make much of a difference in terms of amount. For an extra $3, the portions of toppings were still very small, and I was left still hungry after my meal! I was hoping that the large bowl would allow you to pick more toppings (as what some other Poke places do), however they only really increased the amount of lettuce leaves in my bowl. I did like the seared salmon though, it was nice and fatty and melt-in-your-mouth - just the portion was too small! But, I think that the overall bowl lacked flavour and needed more sauce.

However, the interior is very modern and clean, and pleasing to the eye. There’s tables built-in to the wall, which is pretty aesthetic, however it’s not very comfortable as you have to be twisted to face your table. But I did like how all the cutlery and containers were environment-friendly! And the staff are very nice too.

Overall, it’s a decent place, however there’s still lots of room for improvement!

Ace Poke is delish delish delish!! Got myself a delicious fresh bowl of poke yesterday, and it hit the spot perfectly on a hot, sunny Melbourne day :-)

I got the regular bowl with white rice, sashimi salmon in mayo dressing, cooked salmon in the soy dressing, and the 4 toppings I picked were avocado, edamame, seaweed salad and cucumber (I love my green poke!!). All the ingredients were fresh and delicious - I felt really satisfied yet light and energetic after I ate it. Perfect size!

They also have a good selection of drinks, ranging from water, to kombucha, to Coke. They make good use of the space they have - a good fit out where a decent amount of people can fit, so you can eat your poke on site if you like.

The takeaway bowls are practical and a good size and I like that they use cardboard instead of plastic bowls. It's also nice that you are given the same bowl when you eat in; because if you get halfway through and are getting full (like I did), you can ask for a lid and take it away with you!

They have loyalty cards, where you get stamps and different little freebies - a free drink, poke and bowl are on offer. One of the better loyalty cards I've seen!

A great location on Elizabeth Street right near Bourke St Mall, Emporium and Melbourne Central! A perfect lunch to have prior to a big shopping trip! Definitely recommend this cute little gem in the CBD :-)

Soul food at it's finest. Ace poke is all about inexpensive meals using fresh ingredients. We had the Vegan lover with no corn and the Soy Ahi (tuna bowl) The sashimi was so fresh and flavorsome marinated in a soy dressing. Loved the crunch of the edamame beans and the texture of the brown rice. In addition to the delicious foods, all meals are quiet large and are biogradable, yeah for helping the environment one poke bowl at a time.
@twogoodtoresist
Ace has jumped on the poke band wagon and serves delicious and fresh poke with some great variations on your everyday toppings including cherry tomatoes and pineapple. We loved the seared salmon poke, we’ve never seen cooked fish on poke and loved the change!

Best pole bowl in CBD for sure. and the location is also conveniently right at the heart of the city :)
Their recipe is somehow modified and therefore definitely better than other somilar stores. And it's also thoughtful to provide all kinds of seasonnings.

It called me and my boyfriend’s attention because we love poke! We were offered a sample and loved it. Had a salmon sashimi poke with kimchi that was one of the best I’ve had!

I'd actually give it a 3.5 but with the update in this app, I have yet to figure it out.

I tried the tuna ahi bowl (#6) for the first time today and I thought it was one of the better poke joints around the cbd. The poke bowl was nice and filling. All the ingredients used were fresh and refreshing with each bite. It was also quite tasty. I was also glad they didn't have edamame and offered me cucumber instead haha, but maybe have your ingredients prepared before hand for customers who actually want edamame? Also, the interior of the restaurant was simple yet aesthetically pleasing.

However, the only downside of my visit was when I went to order, apparently they weren't open yet, even though I went at 11:55 am and on Zomato it said they were open at 11:30 am. They had asked me to wait 5 mins until they took my order, which would make it noon. One of my biggest peeves about restaurants is that they advertise that they'll open at a certain time but don't stick to the schedule that's posted. Regardless, the workers were friendly and allowed me to wait until they opened. I understand that the restaurant just opened but these little things do have an effect on how customers view a restaurant (: There's room for improvement and I'd love to come back to try the other options when they're better established.

The food is always amazing here. Probably the best Poké bowls in Melbourne 👌 the staff are friendly and the decor is mint. Would recommend their salmon bowl!!!

Had the Ace Poke Bowl coincidently coz my friend brought me here and he wanted to buy his mom dinner
Seeing the tempting pictures and I couldn’t help ordering one haha
The serving was quite good looking and my favorite aspect in the dish was salmon, which was served with unknown sauce and Japanese sesame toppings
I even didn’t took the photo coz I almost finished it in no time when it was served😂
And the stuffs are very friendly and talkative

Ace is about right. This is the best poke bowl I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. Thank you to the owner Liam for inviting me down to try them. The torched salmon elevates this to the absolute next level. With the addition of avocado, corn, tomatoes and pineapple on a bed of brown rice this was super healthy, filling and flavoursome and I would happily eat it all day every day. This was my own creation and you can chose to do that or select from set options.
Given they’ve been open less then two months I anticipate they will become crazy busy when word of mouth gets out as they’ve got the ideal location and a high quality offering. It’s quite a pleasant spot to dine in too if you aren’t having to rush back to your desk. It’s fun to watch them flaming the seafood and it creates the most intoxicating smell!
I love the concept behind this too with the owner wanting to bring fresh and healthy food to the city having experienced the not so nourishing options available. If all food that was good for you tasted like this I’d never eat a burger again!

I was so lucky to be invited to try their poke bowls!! And this was actually my first time trying poke bowls (from a poke bowl place and not from a brunch place)

They're very generous with their servings, I couldn't even finish it! Everything is fresh, well portioned, although I wouldn't mind more of the seaweed and avo (hehe)

Flamed salmon mayo is defs a good one to choose and the tuna is defs very fresh!

I also got half brown rice and half white rice which I'm glad I did because I loved the combo and the diff textures of rice :D

Bit healthy for me but defs filling and satisfying!

TLDR: bright restaurant, clean tables, and fresh ingredients make for a healthy lunch!

I was fortunate to be invited by Ace Poke, which was quite timely because I was looking for new healthy lunch options in the CBD.The restaurant was recently opened and renovated, and is now bright, clean and inviting, with the use of neutral colours.Plenty of flexible seating available: couple-benches, shared table, and a window-facing bench.

You have a choice of creating your own bowl, or choosing a set bowl, which has a common base of white rice, avocado, corn, seaweed, edamame, lettuce. You can then select your topping which range from flamed & raw tuna/salmon, chicken, egg, soy and vegan.

I went for the tuna ahi, which is the raw tuna sashimi, marinated in a really tasty soy dressing.Ace also finish off the poke bowl with furikake seasoning, which I think gives the bowl an added dimension of “umami” – love it.I also like the use of eco-friendly biodegradable bowls and utensils

These are just some of the little touches that sets themselves apart from the competition.Ace Poke have only been open for 5-6 weeks, so it still feels like there are opening nerves, but looks like they are picking up to operate with full confidence and efficient processes. Good luck, and thanks for the filling and delicious poke bowl!

If you’re into healthy living, this is the best place to dine. They whip up varied tasty poke bowls that is rich, appealing and meets your health needs. I ordered the salmon sashimi topped up with beetroot, seaweed, corn and lettuce with garlic seasoning. It was an explosion of flavors. The price is reasonable and the place itself was cosy.

Stumbled upon Ace Poké on the way back from work. Ace Poké is among the many Poké places scattered around Melbourne CBD.
Customized my own Poké bowl which consists of flamed salmon with soy ahi, kimchi, cucumber, seaweed salad, and edamame.
It's by far the best Poké I've tried: aburi salmon is perfectly flamed and goes really well with the soy ahi . The portion is just enough; not overly filling like most poke bowls.
Looking forward to come back to try the other selections on the menu.

Poké bowls are one of my favourite lunchtime options, so I was thrilled to be invited to try the poké bowls at Ace Poké opposite Emporium on Elizabeth street.

Co-owner Liam spent time as a student in the CBD and wanted to bring fresh and healthy food into the CBD where so many venues offer oily and unhealthy lunches.

The menu has a range of Poké bowls to suit everyone. There were raw and cooked fish options on the menu and plenty of options to suit individuals who may not want sashimi. There are chicken, vego and vegan options too. You can go with a set menu or choose your own mix.

For our first bowl we tried the flamed mayo salmon and chose the accompanying ingredients from the list including edamame, seaweed and corn which are essential imo. If you get a chance to watch the fish being lightly flamed it’s worth a peek.

We then went 50/50 on the next bowl with the spicy mayo salmon from the Ace bowl and the tuna from the Soy Ahi Tuna bowl. Both of these raw fish preparations were flavoursome and delicately textured. The tuna had been delicately marinated in a flavoursome and refreshing soy and wasabi mix. The salmon in mayo was creamy without the heaviness. It had a hint of chilli without being too hot. (There is also chilli spice available to add to your bowl, if you want to ramp up the heat).

If I had to choose a favourite it would be the Soy Ahi Tuna but KD and myself disagreed on this vs the Salmon.

If you want a pokè with actual flavour, this is the place to go.
