First time ordering , everything was delicious . We ordered the dinner pack and were very pleased with quantity and quality of the order . The order was hot when delivered . We frequently order Indian of Uber eats but tried DoorDash for a change and found this little gem .
Janoon is hands down the best Indian in Melbourne. It’s my sons favourite restaurant in the world. It’s top class without the price tag. Even the restaurant itself looks like a hatted restaurant.
Everything is superb. Bitten chicken world class. But if your into your indian get some of the spicy vegetarian specials and ask if you can get the chicken special with cheese As a main. - it’s their signature dish you wouldn’t of ever had it before and it’s unbelievable. They have their own delivery but don’t do Uber eats I dont think. At the price they charge for the quality it would be impossible. Support local and get them to bring it or go get it.
As we are all trapped inside I’m trying out so many new indian restaurants and Junoon was absolutely delicious.
Firstly their breads were outstanding - garlic naan and a Kashmiri naan were perfect with the curries.
We had a butter chicken - very generous portion on the large serve. I do prefer breast meat and not thighs but it was still good. The korma chicken was also delicious.
Great delivery from DoorDash - the only company I use now as they are helping restaurants in fees at the moment so it’s a win win!
Beautiful Ambience, food was super delicious, very well priced, and the owner was very friendly to us. Wonderful 5 star experience and highly recommended.
I had a great experience over here. They serves the best food. It’s an amazing fine dining restaurant. Everything was super delicious. I can’t get enough of this restaurant. Everything is so innovative and so delicious. Ambience is very classy. Kudos to the chef and Mr. Rajan Bhatia. He’s so amazing and friendly and very sweet.
Would love to go back there and have some more amazing meals. Best Indian restaurant in Armadale. They have wide varieties of mouth watering entree and main course meals both in veg and non-veg.
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Couldn’t write something negative if I tried about this place. Delicious Indian food, highly recommend.
The aesthetics of the restaurant is what caught my eye while driving passed a week or so ago, so I thought I'd give it a go after then scouring their menu.
Be careful of the step when you walk in. It leads to a really pretty designed area that houses about six or so tables. There's a long passageway to go to the back of the restaurant where I think they have parties and buffets. The furniture is modern and bright and was a lovely ambience.
The entrees came out in reasonably good time; though one dish quite a bit ahead of the second. They were both delicious, each with a bit of a kick. The samosas pastry was really good, and the filling nice too, but a bit of spice in there. The onion bhaji were a bit spicy also, but tasted good. The Garlic naan was really, really nice. Very flavourful without being burnt or too garlicy. The sauce for the butter chicken was absolutely smooth and delicious. Everything was spot on.
The service was good without being too overpowering and parking at this part of High St isn't too difficult. However ... they do take out and Uber Eats etc, so food can come out slow, and there's really only six main tables in the front. So if you want to be sure to get . a table, I highly recommend you book. With that said, I found this to be a really good dining experience overall and would love to go back again.
Good food with amazing service. We had paneer khurchan and mix platter. Paneer was very flavorsome. Seekh kabab is a must try. I will go again at this place to try other things on the menu.
The customer service and ambience at this place is A1. The food is yummier. I had a Malai chicken and Kulfi while my friends had KaliMirch Paneer, Garlic Cheese Naan, Khurchan and Boondi Raita. The food was extremely rich and they have a very different take on their fusion food. I might have to go there a few more times to experience the place a 2nd time.
The entrees are a really delicious combo of tandoor and sizzlers. Loved it. The Khurchan reminded me of the streets of India :)
The Kulfi was soooooooooooo good. I wanted another one because it's filled with Khoa (which is made of dried while milk).
There's a lot for them to improve on:
- Flavour combinations
- Mocktails
- Food suggestions
Visited Junoon on a monday evening with my friends after work. This has got to be one of the most beautiful Indian restuarant in Melbourne who has managed to maintain the ambience and cosy vibes. Perfect for a date night or unwind your hectic long day along side of friends with some amazing collection of drinks at really good price range or for intimate conversations with family. We were attended by Raj and have to tell you this their staff hospitality and service is impeccable. We ordered for chicken 65 as a starter because we wanted to have something spicy and curries with naans. To be honest it was quite a journey through North India. Punjabi butter chicken was creamy and delicious. My personal favourite was the goat curry because the meat was perfectly cooked and with well blended spices. For vegetarians their Paneer Khurchan will be a good option it is different from your ordinary paneer bhurji. Ended with chicken biryani and dessert. I am a rasmalai fan and will always be my pick. I am definitely visiting this place again for yummy curries and the vibe! Ending with an important note: Their food is by default comforting for aussie or kiwi taste buds spice level and for all the not so faint hearted for spicy hot eaters don't hesitate to ask for your level of spiciness they'll make sure they make it precise and not mix red chilli powder in your dish like few other we usually complain about. A bit pricey but worth the experience!!!!!
Unbelievable food. Have not and never will have better indian food than this. The staff were super friendly and explained the menu to me. Will be a regular for sure!
It’s the MOST amazing indian restaurant in Melbourne ...the food is beyond your imagination...the food and ambiance is PERFECT...staff is very warm....
the owner Raj will make sure that you are well served and he looks after every guest personally...amazed by the quality of the food!!!! one reason to love indian food in Melbourne is JUNOON ❤️
Must try - goat curry, dal makhni, balti chicken, chilli garlic naan :)
Yummy spicy authentic flavours! Definitely coming back here and recommending this decadent restaurant to friends and family. I had the lamb Vindaloo with Jeera rice married up with an exquisite Pinot Noir, so beautiful I wanted more. Great wine list, first class service by the well informed and very talented Raj.
First class food brought to you by first class service. Just tell Raj what you feel like and he will deliver it. He’s also got an eye for 👌🏼 wine
Beautiful ambience and fantastic food. Our group of 8 had a wonderful evening with Raj and his team. The flavours were true Indian and portion sizes were perfect, we will definitely be back.
I went to this place to try their entree recommended by friend. It was extremely good and worth the trip. Great customer service. I will go again to try there other food when I am In the area next. Keep serving the great and tasty Indian food.
Loved the ambience... Loved the food. Authentic Indian flavours. The owner himself goes around and greets every customer making sure that they are having a good time. Have never experienced that before! The hostess was so warm and welcoming. They have an amazingly elaborate selection of wines. Definitely going back for some more!
Very pleased to have stumbled upon this gem. Tasty and delicious Indian food. Service was excellent - friendly staff and management. Will be back!
Food was delicious, spicyness of curry dishes were just right. Service and ambience was nice. Would definitely come again. However, we had to wait at least 45 minutes for our food, it was way too long. Thankfully food quality made up for it.
A very good service provided by the restaurant with great individual being looked after and great attention to detail.
*ahari paneer is a must try*
Chose this spot based on its good reviews and it was excellent. The service was very welcoming and attentive, with Raj being an excellent host. The food was also very good, I can never go past a delicious curry and naan bread.
Amazing food..exceptional customer service and fabulous ambiance. One of the best indian restaurants in town with offering fantastic variety menu.Highly recommended.
Junoon is an Indian Restaurant different from the other Indian restaurant in its ambiance and food items - it has sophistication along with presentation of food items. It has a large selection of both vegetarian and non-veg items on its menu to choose from. The owner Rajen runs the restaurant with a passion living up to the name which means passion in Urdu / Persian. It is for this reason service is impeccable.
Truely the Best Indian restaurant in Melbourne..After reading the reviews on Zomato we decided to try it out and honestly, it exceeded all expectations..The owner Raj and Manager Alina were soo nice, they made sure that the experience was awesome.. We left the ordering to them and I must say , the Malai Tikka was the best I have ever had, soo creamy and tasty and served on a sizzler... The Balti chicken was amazing!!! Not to mention the Butter chicken gravy they gave our daughter...yummy!!But what made things soo special was when Alina bought out a plate with three Gulab Jamoons with dried fruits all around and a little Candle for our angel to blow... That completed the whole experience...Junoon is one place you will love...Thanks guys...👏👏🙏
We had a great experience. We went to the restaurant because it was on eatclub, otherwise would have never thought to go tho, but so glad we did and will certainly go back. The service was amazing with Raj being a very nice and attentive host. The lamb vindaloo was my favourite, but everything was delicious. Certainly worth a visit
The food here is so amazing! Really attentive service as well. We love coming here. It’s a refreshing new Indian restaurant and provides a fine dining experience
This is a fantastic restaurant. The staff are very friendly and know the menu well and can offer many recommendations for whatever your mood. The onion bhaji is delicious. It's a quiet and intimate setting. I will be back as there's a lot on the menu I want to try, and all very fairly priced. They had some house specials too not on the menu, ask them and they will cater, very friendly.
Very nice Indian restaurant that offers personalised recommendations for menu items. Very good customer service which adds to an already lovely ambience.
Great dinner at Junoon. Amazing service from the lovely Raj, and beautiful food. Nice flavours and presentation. Will be back soon with friends.
From interiors to food and hospitality everything is just amazing about this place. There is a nice music playing in the back ground which takes you back to India. A perfect Indian fine dining.
What an Amazing place to dine in.
Excellent food and service
The wine list is amazing.. it has some great wines ..
The chicken malai tikka was amazing
Junoon is a testament of the hard work owner Raj puts in day in day out. Food - delectable, service - out of the world, ambience - eclectic. A must try for lovers of Indian food. Amongst the best that is going around in Melbourne.
Food: best Indian food in Melbourne hands down..
chicken entree was so tender it fell apart with the fork.. onion baji so tasty.. prawn masala yum and not stingy with the amount of prawns! Chicken tikka masala was the highlight so delicious.. other chikEn main also sooo tasty. Naan large serve and not too oily and not to dry! Just right. Only downfalls were the mains were fairly small servings but the 3 mains was enough to fill up my husband and I. (Note; we eat a lot of food) I enjoyed the food immensely and will be our new Indian go to resto!
Yummmmmm
Ambiance: fancy setting, beautiful crockery and glassware, comfy chairs, linen table clothes and napkins... really lux... felt right at home
Service: friendly host and considerate man serving us, very attentive and made our meal special. Well done 👍🏻👍🏻 this place should have a higher rating! Honestly no faults!!
QB 👸
Welcome addition to neighbourhood. Classy service with hands on owner Mr Raj. Ordered delivery to Toorak- prompt, well packaged and delicious - reasonably priced and generous quantity
Great food and great ambience! Couldn't recommend this place enough if you want some amazing Indian food, and the owner is absolutely lovely !!
Fantastic food and outstanding service!
Easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne.
Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed.
Was new to Melbourne and had super cravings for Indian food, went here and the food was just amazing. Loved the food, ambience and the service was great. What else do you look out in a restaurant? Ticked all the boxes for me.
Recommendations:
Butter chicken. PERIOD.
For vegetarians try parathas, or samosas these taste beter than the ones in India.
We had a evening meal it is a real find the food was very good buttered Chicken and fish which was one of the best Indian meals I have had you need to try the Menus looked good
Service was very good and helpful
If you like Indian food I suggest a must to try will be one of our ongoing places to eat if quality of food and service is maintained.
My husband and I went for dinner at Junoon last night and the experience was fantastic. The service was really professional; we've had the pleasure to speak with the owner, and he has an extensive background in hospitality management at top Melbourne hotels, which clearly reflects on the service you receive at Junoon. The ambiance is great too, with good background music.
Many times when we go to Indian restaurants we leave feeling heavy, as the food can be too greasy to our taste. This is definitely not the case with Junoon! Everything was fresh, well-prepared and presented. We had one of the prawn dishes and it was to die for; the entrees and my other vegetarian main were superb too. It made an amazing impression, and I can be hard to please. I'm happy I've found a local Indian restaurant to love.
Fine Indian dining is a term increasingly used, but rarely delivered, in Melbourne. Junoon impressed me far beyond expectation - stunning decor, brilliant food and stellar service throughout.
Owner/manager Raj was charming, attentive and informative, but the most impressive aspect was that this level of service was offered by every staff member - this sets an ambience of a true dining experience rather than the usual Indian two curry in and out. The chef stopped by our table to talk about the garlic chilli prawn dish; as recent bans had left them without their usual prawn order he'd driven to the west earlier that day to pick up some from the only spot he was able to source them. This spicy and tangy prawn dish wasn't your typical Indian fare (at least in my experience) but it was spectacular. The aloo palak was fresh and not overly oily as with too many places. We kept it simple either entrees and opted for murgh tikka and aloo tikki - top notch presentation and all very fresh and flavoursome.
Can't recommend Junoon highly enough. The owner comes from a hotel background and it's easy to see in the attention paid to all elements of the experience: impressive wine list, great music, stylish interior, food presentation, service focus. We often leave Indian feeling satisfied, but also heavy. The food at Junoon was so fresh that I don't feel like I need a 45 minute cardio session just to offset the guilt.
Will definitely be back very soon.
Indeed one of the finest Indian Restaurant. Now just Food, Ambience but the owner himself was interacting with each table and personally made sure that everyone is having good time there. New Achari Paneer Tikka was fab n Paneer Bemisaal was absolute stunner.
Overall one of the best experience in Melbourne dining.
PS: Review is based on Veg Cuisine
I think Junoon and Rajen are onto something here - being vegetarian Indian Australians, we scour around Melbourne looking for good vegetarian and good Indian restaurants. There are not many 'fine dining' Indian restaurants and Junoon is a serious contender for this spot. The ambience is stylish with a mix of east and west, with the east not too overpowering.
The food tasted very fresh and the spread was amazing. Rajen also makes sure that he gives a little introduction to the dish and suggests accompaniments (something non Indians will appreciate).
Somebody below had mentioned that the 'okra was fried to within an inch of its life' - not sure if you have Indian background, but the specialty of this dish is that okra will be 'tawa(pan)' or deep fried to within an inch of its life! This dish is meant to be crunchy. "Instead of a plump tender green vegetable bathed in sauce" is a very western expectation and one cannot score the restaurant down for not making it that way! Sorry, I am not taking you on Petit, I am just trying to explain why that dish may have been the way it was - perhaps Rajen can elaborate. What we need to realise is that this is an Indian restaurant, so dishes will be attempted to be made as authentically Indian as possible. For an aussie take on traditional Indian food, one must visit 'Lentils as anything' or perhaps 'Horn Please'.
Junoon is the one of the best Indian restaurant I feel in Melb !!
Not only just great food n staff .. service but the ambience is beautiful !
Most of the Indian restaurants here do not have good ambience which is unlikely as in India I have seen theme based restaurants which makes your dining experience a food journey .. but I felt junoon has that feel :) which differs it from just a take away place .
Food is exceptionally yumm .. methi chicken N fish masala is my personal fav .. good quality n I need to try more from the menu :)
Well done guys !!
This was our 5th visit to this restaurant. As usual great atmosphere, loved the decor, food was great. For entree we had malai tikka and it was too die for. My sister loved the amritsari fish, people in our group also loved the paneer Tikka and mushroom tikka. For mains we had butter chicken, Dal makhani and paneer kadhi. The food was tasty and had plenty of Oomph. Once again Compliments to the chef and to Rajen for creating such a beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend the kulfi, we tried both pista and mango. The drinks menu was extensive and few of us had the spirits. Overall once again a 5 star experience. Keep up the good work.
This is our first time here. Had lunch date with my hubby and the little one.
The food is absolutely divine!
Full flavour. Fresh. Very high quality.
The ambient is great too!
Great selection of wine
Service is 10/10
Tested and proven.
We will definitely come back again!
Wow! Such a beautiful restaurant. The decor is lovely. The service and food were both unbelievably good. The owner Raj was so personable and attentive. They even made us an old favourite dish which wasn't on the menu. A truly wonderful meal. Thank you Junoon for giving Armadale some great Indian cuisine!!
Good food, good ambience, great feel. Went there some time ago with family, the menu was quite interesting. It is difficult to find such awesome Indian restaurants around.
Delicious food. Lovely ambience. The service was efficient. You can enjoy a delectable meal at this place without being disturbed. Subtle music in the background is an added feature.
Went to this new Armadale Indian restaurant with friends at the weekend. Upon entering, we were greeted with the intoxicating aromas of Indian cuisine.
The host was very welcoming and pleasantly suggested he organise entree platters for our table. We had a vegetarian selection - mostly fried - and a meat selection from the tandoor. The selection was delicious & satisfying. After the entree, we selected a prawn dish, a fish dish and a vegetable dish. While the flavours were excellent, I was quite disappointed in the main ingredient of each dish. The prawns were plentiful but were small & rubbery. Perhaps less prawns of a decent size would have made this dish quite special and I would have happily paid more for this dish had they used King Prawns. The Goan fish curry, excellent flavoursome sauce but I believe they may have used frozen fish. There was plenty of the fish fillet but the texture was soft & mushy rather that firm & flakey. A big let down to an otherwise delicious curry. The next dish was an okra dish in a tasty sauce. The okra seemed to have been deep fried to within an inch of it's life. Instead of a plump tender green vegetable bathed in sauce we got tough shrivelled up tough green vegetables. The dessert selection was more pleasing. Not too sweet or sickly & thoroughly enjoyable. Overall excellent service, tasteful decor, good value, excellent flavours but need to ramp up the quality of the seafood. Will definitely return to try more if the curry selections.
Very elegant ambience and great food. Best new Indian restaurant. Customer service and hospitality at its best. Must try and recommend dine in to enjoy the ambience.
We went to this new Indian Restaurent located in Armadale for a birthday party. To start with there's ample parking so you are not looking for one and having to walk a long way. The Restaurent has a classy look and the interiors have been done tastefully. I would rate the ambience a 5/5.
About 50 guests were invited and there was ample space without anyone feeling cramped. There was a DJ and belle dancer organised to add to the excitement.
The bar was well stocked with a good collection of wine & spirits. The hosts had organised a massive feast. There were too many dishes to remember or mention here. For entree I loved the masala peanut(go well with a scotch), Stuffed mushroom, chilly prawn, chicken tikka, lamb chops.... for main we had daal makhani, Veg Tawa fry, Chicken Karahi, lamb & goat curry that really stood out. We had this with naan and flavoured basmati rice. For desserts the Ras malai was to die for.
I would be going back with my Mrs. soon for a nice dining experience shortly. Wishing the new owners all the very best.
