I’ve had the fish and chips here quite a few times now that I work within walking distance. The guy is super friendly and the food is always consistently good. Prices are fair as well. Love the potato cakes!
I buy fish n chips from here about once a month and it's consistently great. The fish is fresh, the potatoe cakes are nice and thick and the oil is always clean so you don't get that terrible dark color and taste on thur food.
Best tasting chips ever - real authentic taste and smell
Fish is always consistent too.
Genuine fish and chips without fancy quinoa salads that ruin the genuine taste of fish and chips
One of the better fish and chip shops in the area. We had fried blue grenadier which was lovely. Good chips and potato cakes and spring rolls too.
The fish and chips and other fried items are very good. Unfortunately no salads to choose from and burgers are no good. Bun is overpowering.
Consistently very good. There are two aspects of F&C joints that I think are underrated:
1. Consistency
2. Choice of hamburger bun.
Valley Seafood comes up with a gold star on both of these - which puts it in stark contrast to other places. I've been buying from these guys for about six or seven years now and I've never had a complaint with their food (although once a small tub of tomato sauce was past use-by date).
They also have a good handle on the hamburger bun - I don't know where they get them from, but the buns they use are an excellent choice. They're not crusty but they hold together even when some moisture from the burger contents starts to affect the bread - which is not all that common in my experience.
I drive past about four other places in order to get my F&C from Valley Seafood - it's probably the best in the area. Highly recommended.
It's good, fresh and fast. A former housemate from years ago would always drive here for fish and chips. I wouldn't drive specifically out of my way to go here - either then nor now - but as I was passing by I stopped in and I found my flake 'n' chips to be good! Look it's not a tempura coating like you might get in a cafe or restaurant, but the batter was fine - it wasn't too thick, the fish was thick and juicy, and the chips were standard fish 'n' chip shop chips but cooked well. A bit tight in the sense that you have to pay extra for a lemon wedge, but it is what it is. It was also very efficient and fast. There is a park across the road, it would be lovely to get take away on a nice day and enjoy in the park.
