Review Pure Boba - Melbourne

Anahí Bock
My favorite is caramel milk tea with creme brulee and pearls. Open till late and they prepare it really quickly. I also tried the new chocolate milk tea with pearls and Oreo.

Love their matcha milk tea with cheese foam. One of the few places where you can actually taste the matcha. Not heavily diluted like most other places nearby. My favourite local for milk tea ❤

I love this place. Tried multiple drinks my fave is the peach sparkling drink. Friendly staff and they go out of their way to make sure your drink is made the way you like.

My two go to orders have been their fresh taro milk tea and matcha latte. Good service and friendly staff.

My favourite place to get tea on Koornang Rd. The owner/manager(?) is full of energy and everyone who works there is very polite. I’ve gotten hooked on their Milk Tea with Cream Brulee and Pearl. Definitely try them first if you don’t know which tea shop to go to.

The staff are super friendly and the drinks are delicious. I know the owner as well and he is super nice.

Finally a bubble tea place in the area! Despite what I had read on other reviews the service was reasonably quick, taking into account how busy it was and the number of staff. Had the roasted milk tea with red beans (they sold out of pearls). Taste was good. Will definitely be back.

Terrible drinks and unprofessional conduct. Just read the other reviews and the owner's reply. The mango pudding tasted like leather. There was no flavour. There was barely any crème brûlée in the drink. Also, I got abused for giving feedback. I have never been treated like that before. Never ever will I spend my hard earned money on an establishment that abuses its customers, writes nasty responses to reviewers and seemingly treats their delivery drivers unwell too. Perhaps boba business isn't for you? Or business dealing with customers? Take the reviews as a sign that your attitude and your food products needs to improve. I will sure as hell not support a food business that is this unprofessional.

I love this bubble tea store, there a variety of drinks to choose from. I also really like the logo on the bubble tea cup, it’s so cute! 😍

I ordered the Oolong Macchiato which has a sweet milk foam and the Ovaltine Milk Tea. Both of them taste good!

I like the flavours of the drinks. I got the creme brûlée milk tea and also the passionfruit tea. I ordered extra pearls but didn’t seem to get that much extra and the creme brûlée was all dissolved by the time I drank it. I wish they were more generous with it. Good overall. Would order again

There are no shortage of bubble tea shops in the area, but Pure Boba stands out for it's friendly, personal service and it's delicious iced teas. I love that it isn't a chain store, and the variety of drinks is really good. The store itself is clean and bright, with fun touches all around.

We ordered a lime sparkling tea and a pineapple smoothie tea, and both were very refreshing, and not overly sweet. They are great value for money, and the staff that work here are lovely. Definitely my go-to for a fun drink when I'm in Carnegie.

3.5

Craving for bubble tea strikes again. This time the goods were from Pure Boba. Albeit lacking the smoky toasty notes of a roasted black tea, the Roasted Milk Tea with golden pearls and egg pudding was still pleasant to drink. The robust flavour of the black tea paired well with the hint of sweetness from the egg pudding and the chewy pearls.

The Taro Smoothie with red beans reminded me of the iced red bean from HK-style cafes. As taro paste and not taro powder is used in this drink, the flavour of the taro is very subtle but an enjoyable drink nonetheless. If you’re after the taste of taro, I suggest to order it without any toppings.

3.5
Pure Boba has a great menu with some newer products. I haven’t tried many of their options but the mixed berry cheese tea I had was really nice. It was not really sweet but well-blended. The service can be a bit slow, but the staff are making the drinks with care. They serve desserts and cute little cakes as well.

Unfortunately, I wanted to try the brown sugar milk, but it was only available on Thursday and Friday (I think..).
Inside is really cutely design with a small seating area.

Found the cutest bubble cup place located in Carnegie. The idea designed behind a dog which is cute. The cheese froth on these were yummy and I'd definelty go back for more. **attended on own accord

Ordered Mango smoothie with ice cream. The worst smoothie I had ever. The crushed pieces of ice were so big. The price is quite okay, but you can take a little longer and make the service worth the wait.

My family love this bubble tea shop. The shop is cute and clean. The service is always friendly. Our usual order is Premium Milk Tea with Pearls, Grape Yakult Tea with Strawberry Popping Pearls and the Ice Cream Mango Smoothie. We never change our order but I’m going to go rogue next time and try the Brown Sugar Jelly instead of the Pearls! Hahaha.

The only negative would be for some people the menu is limited. But why have a wide range when you’ve got the best options?

Tried their taro fresh milk tea with brown sugar jelly. First time I’ve seen brown sugar jelly as a topping. It was mildly sweet with a caramel taste and crunchy - nice! The taro was fresh taro which they cooked until soft, not the bright purple powder type, which I like. The milk tea was OK but I wanted the tea taste to be stronger. The tea is quite pricey here - I paid $6 for a 500ml cup excluding toppings which looked quite small.

One of my favourite bubble tea places in Melbourne

My favourite is the premium pearl milk tea

Does generally run on the sweeter side compared to the usual chains

Haven’t had any service issues the others have spoken about

I never understood why the rating is so low. One of the best boba shop in the area. milk tea w cream brulee is sooo good.
U can tell they are using fresh ingredients
Junonia
Ordered a Caramel milk tea, the taste is fine but nothing special. Cute packaging. Big minus: it takes ages for them to make one caramel milk tea, especially because they keep prioritising other orders that come after mine.

Ordered a premium milk tea but it is way too sweet even we asked for half sugar.
My friend ordered a grapefruit black tea, he said it taste like there is a lot of artificial thing in that. Not very nice.
And also, staff is not friendly at all.
Although we like the decoration of the store, but overall it was a bad experience.

Ordered the Premium milk tea with pearls and Oreo bits and was told that the pearls will take about 40 more minutes to be cooked - had no choice but to grab something to eat nearby and come back again.

Looked around the shop later and discovered they use fresh milk in all their milk tea series which is a big plus! Though it may not be as creamy as milk powders like other bubble tea chains, the fresh factor is definitely a bonus and the price point is about the same as other franchises - $7.20 for a large milk tea and 2 extra toppings. Service is not bad, not much to nitpick on. I might drop by again if I’m in the area!

Positive: Strawberry oolong milk tea tasted nice and light, doesn’t taste artificial, the place has nice aesthetics
Negative: The service felt poor, they still mixed up my order even when I verbally and physically pointed out on the menu which tea I wanted. Informed me that the pearls will take 30 minutes to make which I didn’t think was worth the wait. The staff at the counter didn’t look like she knows what she was doing. Found hair in the tea (I had to ask them to remake it anyways since they gave me the wrong tea). I received an apology but not a refund.
In hindsight, I won’t be coming back here again. Such a shame because the tea was nice, but the service was a letdown.

It’s about time that Koornang Road finally got a bubble cup joint! Very limited menu and strange little cakes but definitely fantastic milk tea with pearls. Could do to have some fruit teas.

This place is nice looking and cute. However, my partner and I ended up having food poisoning the day after drinking the Roasted Milk Tea. We will be avoiding this place.

I think that Pure Boba’s teas have great flavour. I enjoy coming here once in a while when gong Cha is out of reach. The drinks are great but service is a bit slow. The menu doesn’t have a large selection but still good options. Sometimes the menu is inconsistent. Example, I got a Oolong tea with milk foam but instead of milk foam they use whipped cream which makes it a completely different drink.

Absolutely love this place! Very cute and the staff are lovely! The drink are all amazing and have some unique flavours that are interesting and tasty. Definitely recommend for a drink after drink or a day snack.

I haven't tried the tea yet because I ordered Coconut milk with mango pudding but it turns out that they mixed it with fresh milk and I have lactose intolerance so I had to throw it away. It is an important info which should be written on the menu unless they
don't care if someone gets sick.

*Update
There is a sign mentions about lactose intolerance now. Good work.

Best bubble tea place in Melbourne :)
They use fresh milk, not the powdered chemical ones other bubble tea shops use.
Fresh tea and fresh ingredients!
