A cosy yet charming place with first class service and great food with an awesome selection of tequila - it is a must to visit when in Middle Park.

Ignore some of the comments below as they were obviously for the Spanish restaurant at the same address years ago. Mexico City Tequila Bar has been operating for about 10 months (as of Oct '17).
The service here is warm and friendly, caters for everyone - families, couples, dates and get togethers. The food is always tasty and they have a good list of drinks.

Burrito tasted like ... cat food? Not very pleasant. It looked good though. Lovely atmosphere and fast service though. Couldn't finish my food. It was pretty bad. Cozy restaurant interior and magnificent bar available.

I absolutely love this place. The owners are absolutely wonderful, they always make us feel welcome and take a good care of us every time. The food is great, as well as the famous margaritas :)

Apart from the in-your-face argumentative waiter/owner/manager, the food was substandard. 3 of the 8 course Xmas-in July special menu was made up of grilled prawns, butter and garlic tossed mushrooms and small cubes of potatoes with aioli.... is this really the Spanish cuisine? I can make them better at home and I'm not Spanish... the roast lamb was so tough it was inedible, with the exception of the smokey flavor the Xmas soup was tasteless.
There were 10 of us there and that makes 20 thumbs down.

This place is my local and I love it. I admit I'm not a great judge of Mexican cuisine but everything I've had here is tasty with reasonable (if not large) servings at a good price. The sangria is really good; a little pricey but I suspect given the effect there's a good serving of different alcohol in it. It's usually busy and they seem to cater to families and kids well. I think it caters well to almost any group - couples, dates, families and groups. The menu is varied and there's something for everyone. The service is really friendly, the decor great and not too noisy to enjoy yourselves.
