Despite visiting here before it appears that my review has disappeared off Zomato.
So lucky I went here w my partner and a mate again. The service was good, friendly enough. There isn’t much seating so the restaurant focuses on take away, mainly because the kitchen takes up 3/4 of the internal space.
The food cooked to order, no pre made food here, and it was delicious, there were several highlights.
The spring rolls were really good, both the prawn and mixed spring rolls. The massaman beef was a highlight and the meat was really well cooked, it was soft chunky pieces of meat, in a nice sauce.
The thick rice noodles or chicken pad sie euw (I hope that’s the right spelling) was delicious, and I really enjoyed this as it was one of the best ones I’ve had in some time. Everything was exceptionally well cooked and the chicken moist.
The BBQ chicken was pieces of moist chicken pieces and very yummy. Although the sweet chilli sauce was far too sweet so I skipped that.
The roti bread was ok, but I wouldn’t order it again.
And the watermelon at the end of the meal was very nice thank you. Overall this was a solid meal and I will definitely go back again.

Really decent food, some dishes are a bit small but the flavours are good.
Recommended the fried fish and pork shank set, which comes with a jug of delicious milk tea. Worth it.
The fried fish in tamarind sauce is always a good pick.
The massaman curry is a pretty decent serve compared to other curries.
The salads are a bit small and I'd probably skip the crab salad next time as its not soft shell crab.
The roti also seemed a bit sub par. So stick to coconut rice.
All in all a really decent place and will be back again!
The shrimp paste fried rice was very tasty!! Especially if you combine it with the belacan sauce ;)
Delicious Tom yum broth! Possibly the best I’ve had! However the seafood in it was over cooked - rubbery calamari. Easy to fix though. The Chinese broccoli with crispy pork was delicious! Red curry lacked seasoning so seemed a little tasteless, but the main flavours were there. It was also very spicy so make sure you like hot spicy food if you’re going to order it!
Authentic Thai restaurant that have been around for many years with it's original branch in Glenferrie. The Tom Yum is sour and tasty. The som tum is tangy and a little spicy. All in all the dishes are cooked really well and the complimentary dessert is great plus! Unfortunately we came with a baby and the restaurant is something we would call not too baby friendly. They have high chairs but the overall space and table is really small which makes it hard when you have a baby.
For Vegi Hatersss – You will start loving vegi once you go to this place.
Deep Fried Kangkung is your hero. Is it health? Maybe not so much, but hey, it’s VEGETABLE!!
My other recommendation would be their crab fried rice, crispy pork with spicy sweet basil, soft crab with curry sauce, pork knuckle, and the steamed fish.
FYI - They have a bundle for pork knuckle for a free punnet of teh Tarik!
I have been coming to place with my family for a very long time and it hasn't disappointed me. Absolutely love their famous pork shank and the Som tum. Simply amazing.
The go to Thai whenever ikea or the children farm drags us to this part of town. The flavour are punchy but not too overpowering; they do most things well but the highlights are the deep fried items, pork shank and Kang Kung, the latter has to be tried to be believed. Amazing!

We have been here several times and haven’t been let down once by their service, food, prices or cleanliness. Such a great place to go for lunch or dinner.
Would be 5 star if they would always alert their customers when they aren’t going to be open as we have been twice when they weren’t open, but there was no sign indicating why.
Great experience, small and humble shop front, but definitely has a lot to offer. Authentic Thai food with flavorful dishes, the chef definitely did not make the spicy dishes too mild to 'accomodate' to western tastes. Bloody fantastic and worth visiting, great price too!

One of my go to restaurant for any occasions! My mum and I discovered this years ago for Mother’s Day, we thought the place was small and going to be not a good experience. Turns out we are completely wrong. THE FOOD HERE ARE DELICIOUS EVERY SINGLE MEAL. I’ve been here so many times and everytime I came nothing on the menu has disappointed me. Came here for the Thai street food snack of sweet potato balls, deep fried. While waiting it to be cooked, around 20 minutes, we ordered Thai pork salad. Tasted intensely sweet and sour, pork was sticky, pretty nice snack to be honest.

One of the best things my boyfriend did was introduce me to ISpicy! Having spent my early years in South East Asia, I appreciate authentic, rustic Thai cooking and ISpicy ticks all these boxes. It's a no frills restaurant but the food speaks for itself. Our go to dishes are the crab fried rice, kangkung crispy chicken, papaya salad and tom yum. Try it out, you won't regret it!

One of my old time fav thai joints. The place is normally really busy but they have plenty of seats upstairs. We went crazy when ordering yesterday, as a result we had 11 dishes for 9 people. Everything was great as usual except the stir fry squid with salted egg, too runny and a bit weird.

They had less staff yesterday so the service was a bit slow. They forgot to put prawns in our seafood tomyum and they gave us another tomyum with a lot of prawns afterwards.
I will want to be back ASAP! OMG! This awesomeness of mild spicy coconut prawns on a coconut shell was the best sauce dish I ever tried! To my likings of course...you should try! Other dishes were very delicious! Had them with coconut rice, a little different than the Malaysian ones but nonetheless great too. Casual dining place but worth it once you try.....went around almost 8pm so service was very attentive.
Went 2nd time around and had their crab meat fried rice. It was...outstandingly delicious! $14 I feel is quite worth it for what what my tummy says lol...
Thai restaurant serving authentic cuisines. The pork shank is one of their specials and it was initially a shock for me when it came out as it was huge! It tasted great though. The Tom Yum and the Crying Tiger was also one of the better Thai food I've tried in Melbourne.
Outstanding Thai food. Decent pricing but well worth for the food you are getting. The space is a little cramped and tends to get packed out.
A surprise find for us as we decided to have some spicy Asian food for dinner. We have passed by the place countless times and never thought much of walking in. We ordered the pad thai which was tasty and cooked well where it's noodles did not clump together and neither was it bland nor dry. The garlic soft shell crabs were yum especially with the two choices of chilli accompaniment. We also had the green curry, I haven't had a decent green curry in ages and this one takes the cake in taste and spiciness. The tom yum soup that we ordered did not falter either. A nice balance of sweet, sour and spice left me wanting more. We also were surprised as the waiter passed on a small container of blended chilli which has a good kick of spiciness and shrimp, which could go well with anything; even plain rice. Great and quick service.I would definitely be back for more and was not disappointed.
It is a very busy store and I love their fried vagetables and tom yum soup！So delicious！Even though their environment is not very good，but dishes all good！

Better than average Thai food on the busy Victoria street strip. What the service is lacking, the kitchen makes up for with generous portion sizes. Three plates, three drinks and still change from $80. Not bad for a casual weeknight dinner.

After a time at Bunnings Richmond doing the hard slog, sometimes we just need some good food served well. I Spicy is definitely one to deliver on the great food which is also pictured on the walls in a cool painting. Overall interior design definitely on the plus side! Atmosphere here is relaxed and cool. Makes you want to order a lot of meals which I can recommend you do. At lunchtime the lunch special is unbeatable for value. I love to order the chicken mince fried rice (hot) with a fried egg on top which is just SO tasty. One of the best rice dishes to ever grace the streets of Melbourne IMO. Crispy bits really yummy, lots of chicken and veggies. Egg is unbeatably crispy and frilly, very gorgeous. Still wet in the middle.. Quite a feat. At dinner time go a bit more wild with the tasty options on the full menu. If you ever see the pork shank you will want it.. What a decadent sight. The whole pork shank is sooo big and slow cooked then deep fried to order and wow, this is just so delicious. It's fall apart tender and so deliciously flavoured. Believe it also comes with a vinegar dipping sauce. Serve it with some good rice, fried or normal and if you're really hungry have a go at the noodles. Pad Thai, I know it's hard to go past. Massive servings all round.. Expect a takeaway container, but never see this as a defeat ;) Drinks Menu is really good as well, something for all tastes, I think I just usually have tea? Honestly, I could recommend this place to just about anybody. It beats a damn Bunnings sausage sizzle anyday.
Cheap, okay, bit of a wait. Pretty average Thai food, we haven't tried any Pad Thai or Pad See Ew here so we can't comment on their noodles. However, here we tried the omelette with crab meat with rice which was great, the taste was balanced, however the egg was just slightly oily and the accompanying sauce was monotonous. We also ordered the pork shank which was tasty too but nothing too special. The skin was crispy but a bit fatty as well. The meat inside was moist and soft which was nice. The accompanying sauce was a bit too herby and spicy for Luke. The price was cheap but we needed to wait for a while before we were served.
Update Dec16: Well their crispy pork roast and stir-fried veggies on rice is actually pretty good. Crispy and fresh veggies with well-marinated and tingling pork roast - cracking dish for lunch. We bump another 0.5 for this place. 3.5 now
I had the red curry with chicken rice dish. I also tried a bit of the crispy pork with Kai lang veggies. The curry goes very well with the Vietnamese mints. I skipped all the bamboo shoots as it smells funny to me. The Kai Lang veggies was very crunchy very tasty. A good choice to try something different other than Vietnamese pho on Victoria St.
It's too hard not to like this place ....
All your traditional Thai fares, well cooked and presented, always consistent.
The front of the shop, the place and the location might be dubious for a Thai restaurant, but all is good and easy to enjoy.

Have been to this establishment a couple of time. Love their dishes! Must order here; papaya salad, and tom yum soup. Favourite dish will be the BBQ STUFFED CALAMARI; the meat is so soft and tender and the stuffed mince chicken vamped up the overall savoury taste. I also ordered their durian sticky rice for dessert; it was authentic an delicious.

Came here with a negative mindset for some reason but I was very wrong. This place is awesome and I will tell you why:
-When you go to many thai places here, they lack something. Like somewhere has som tum but no whole fish or no soft shell crab. This place has everything you want to try and the Pork shank is a great addition for people like me who want a bit of westernised food on the side. Now the review:
*Prices vary from what is shown in Zomato (unless they fix) it prices are actually higher* I got the deal Pork shank Whole fish fried with apple sweet and sour sauce 1 jug of tea for $55. So pretty much you get the jug for free with this deal and this combo is enough for 3 people or 2 very hungry people (like us). We also ordered som tum $12 with crab (3.5/5) nothing amazingPork shank was nice and well cooked and I give it a 4/5 because the real 5/5 is when you go to German restaurantFish was flawless, well cooked golden brown, nice mix with sauce and tasted fresh 5/5!Rice- I ordered coconut rice and it was marvellous, it even had pieces of coconut in it and I could really feel that I am eating coconut rice. I enjoyed every part of this dining experience, the food is great, really well balanced, one of the best Thai restaurants i've been to rated on food alone. We just kept ordering more and more, the pork shank was a stand-out, but I really liked every dish that was served, especially the curry, it was amazing.. (couldn't grab a photo in time before everyone tucked in lol)
The service is quick and the staff are polite. The decor of the place is average, but that's it's charm I think, it feels very comforting there and you do feel quite relaxed when the food starts coming out.
I'll be going back for sure, will go easy on the food this time though, I was busting at the seams after that enormous feast!!
A little on the more expensive side, but absolutely phenomenal food. We've been there a bunch of times for family birthday dinners and such and love it every single time.
One of our favourite Thai restaurants. The food here is very authentic and tasty. We really like the pork shank and refreshing som tum. Their second floor room can accommodate large groups. Highly recommend a visit.
Delicious fresh non pretentious Thai food! Felt very comfortable eating there and the pork shank was definitely a stand out. The soft shell crab with garlic packed a punch but a little overwhelming to be eaten alone, however well accompanied with some coconut rice.
No question about it, best authentic Thai food.
I highly recommend the Pork Shank with the amazing sweet, sour chilli fish sauce that accompanies it. Spicy yet so fresh.
The fried barramundi with Sour green mangoes is the most tastiest fried fish you've ever had.
The sour green mangoes compliments the fish very well,my mouth is watering while writing this review. I do have a pic but I can't find it. Lol

this restaurant i believe is under rated, it sits on 3.3 where Ying thai and Jinda are 3.7 and 4.
Although their restaurant is not as big or nice compare to other 2 Thailand restaurant, but they have amazing taste of local food. Definetly will feel you are in thailand.
I had their seafood tom yum, bbq stuffed calamari, som tum (papaya salad), and their amazing soft shell crab curry (you need to ask for this, as it is not in the menu).
They also well-know for pork shank. However, personally I prefer with the Thai flavour rather than this deep fried pork.
Richmond’s Victoria St may be better known for its inexpensive Vietnamese eateries, but you’ll also find a number of Thai establishments in the area that are worth exploring. Some of the more notable casual Thai eateries in the area include Jinda Thai, Thaiger Rabbit (formerly known as Ying Thai), Tom Toon Thai Noodle Café and newcomer Rustic Thai.

We've been to iSpicy quite a number of times when we're craving some good Thai food and each time we go they never disappoint! The restaurant is always bustling and staff are very friendly. It's not a big place so I recommend booking in advance if you've got a group. They are BYO too so we normally bring a bottle of wine or two to enjoy the delicious food!
We always order their whole steamed fish with garlic and herbs in a chilli and lemon sauce. It's served up on a plate in a shape of a fish over a little fire. It's the best! The soupy sauce that the fish is in is so tangy and appetising, I can sip on it all night and it brings me back to Thailand when we were eating this same dish almost every night there.
I also always have to order their red duck curry which is my absolute favourite. Their pork shank is also really good but make sure you're hungry if you're ordering it with other dishes. The skin is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. To eat with the curries we either order the Thai fried rice or the Pad Thai, both really flavoured and nice. The Pad Thai in particular has a lovely tang and sweetness to it.
You can order fresh young coconut juice and if you're in the mood for beer, they always have deals on their Singha beer - 4 beers for the price of 3. Highly recommend if you're craving some Thai, especially if you're craving a good whole steamed fish!
A place I always come back too and am never disappointed. The food is consistent and every dish I have had was great. The coconut rice, penang duck curry and the pork shank are a must try.

The dishes here are true to the restaurant name and all pretty much super spicy, so if you can't handle the heat, you have to tell them MILD.
This place is a cheap and cheerful. The wait staff here are all super friendly, but not attentive at all. Sometimes there's some serious confusion in asked questions, not sure if it is because the kitchen is busy or language barriers. The standout dishes here are the Pork Shank and the Eggplant Basil and for dessert their little pancakes. Those little pancakes are little puffs of yummy paradise. Just be careful as they make them super (temperature) hot.

Having only just tried this place a few nights ago my thoughts are fresh in my mind. The service was ok. Pretty much what i expect at most places of this nature, somewhat shy staff that don't have a great grasp on English but enough to be helpful all with smiles.We ordered the chicken spring rolls, thai green curry with steamed rice and butterfly chicken and coconut rice. Honestly i was happy with everything THe chicken was fantastic.I was a little pricey but i left full and happy with NO issues with the food at all. I'll definitely be going back until i have a reason not too.
Great little Thai restaurant in Richmond. Authentic Thai food from starter, street food, main and sweet. Had the mango deep fried whole barramundi with mango salad. Very refreshing sweet & sour minty flavor. The other highly recommend dish is young coconut prawn curry. Thick curry with shredded young coconut, bean, prawn and hint of kafir lime leave in the curry. So yummy!!
Don't eat here on a Friday night and you will be fine. During the week when it is quieter it is wonderful. The currys are fantastic and well presented.
Long wait for food but flavours were good. I have been to i Spicy 2 once and enjoyed the flavours of the food. The paw paw salad was authentic and the crying tiger (Thai style char grilled beef) was delicious. However, we did wait a long time for the food despite the restaurant not been busy (it was late at night). The waitress did know we were waiting a long time but avoided eye contact with us or gave us an update on the food (she was also very difficult to understand). So I'd say the service wasn't great but the food makes it worth it, will consider going again next time I'm in the area.
NICE TASTE BUT A RUDE WAITRESS. This restaurant recommended by one of my girlfriends. Taste is nice for most of the dishes that i have tried there. However, there is a waitress was very rude. She didn't really talk to any of her customers politely which is strange because most of Thai are really friendly and polite.
We started off with Yum Moo-Grob ($15) - a crispy pork salad. The salad was refreshing with the tangy and spicy Thai dressing along with red onion, mint and coriander. The Moo-Grob was nicely cooked, and did the job of still being crispy!
iSpicy is a Thai restaurant located on Victoria Street, Richmond. This particular restaurant is called iSpicy 2 because there is another one located on Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn. As the name suggests, it specialises in spicier Thai dishes which I love. There are quite a few Thai restaurants around Richmond, and in particular, Victoria Street which is great because I really can’t get enough of Thai food. I ordered the Spicy stir fry crispy chicken with sweet basil, fresh chili and green beans on rice which was marvellously spicy. It packs a lot of heat. It’s definitely not to everyone’s tastes but the crispy chicken was soft and light in texture but also crispy. Really nice. It was complemented by the spicy beans and chilli. It’s hard to describe the taste, it is mostly spicy but has a bit of salt and sweetness to it so that the chilli isn’t too over powering. Their other dishes look just as lovely and again lives up to its name of iSpicy. Compared with Ying Thai, I still prefer Ying T
If I were on death row, I want my last meal to come from here. Hubby and I ordered the Pork Shank, Crying Tiger and the Tom Yum in Young Coconut.
The Pork Shank was crispy on the outside, and the meat soft and delicious, perfectly seasoned, with the fat melting in your mouth. The Crying Tiger was done perfectly, with the meat still slightly pink and juicy. The tamarind sauce that came with it was magical. The Tom Yum soup was also very well done, with a natural sweetness from coconut flesh.
I can't wait to try their other dishes. From what I've tasted so far, I could say it's one of the best Thai food I've ever had. I travelled to Thailand often in the past, and this is one of the most authentic Thai food I've tasted in Melbourne. I'm surprised at the bad reviews from other diners. We were there at 6.30pm on a Tuesday and the service was friendly. The flavours were right - not too sweet like many other Thai restaurants catering to local tastebuds. I'll definitely be going back.
Just OK. The food here is very tasty though sometimes when busy they are not consistent. Pricing is reasonable.
The best Tom Yum soup!. Went twice already to this restaurant. The Papaya Salad and Tom Yum soup are the two most delicious. Tom Yum soup in particular is so different to the other Thai restaurants, it tastes more original then just the clear tom yum soup.

Authentic. I love the fact that it serves Thai dishes that I be never seen in other restaurants. Food was tasty and unique . The pork leg (tip is to pre order when you reserve the table)simple melts in your mouth. The deep fried kang Kung with special sauce was amazing. My personal favourite was the stuffed grilled squid. The special Thai pancakes in coconut sauce just brings you back to Thailand. Only wish is that the food could be spicier!

Bangkok street food here in Richmond. Turmeric chicken, grilled pork and squid... Just like in Thailand. We loved the duck curry in young coconut and the wok tossed Kang Kung with crispy pork. Coconut thai pancakes were like the ones we ought off the food hawkers in old Bangkok - we'll be back for more.

Delicious. Went here for the first time the other night and it was amazing. Ordered the panang duck curry which was absolutely divine and also the chicken pad thai which was also delicious. Would definitely come here again. Highly recommended.
Have eaten at ispicy many times. The food is excellent and reliable and a nice change from the monotony of Victoria st. Highly recommend. Only criticism is the beer is NEVER cold. Seems all Thai restaurants run their fridges 5 degrees warmer than everyone else. Why??? Turn the fridge down! Beer is supposed to be cold!!
