Girl Next Door is a new café located in front of a boutique hotel, within walking distance to St Kilda beach. The owners are no strangers to the restaurant industry, having expanded their successful business, Sauced Pasta Bar, across a few different locations in Melbourne. Girl Next Door was originally meant to be another Sauced Pasta Bar, but plans changed to open a daytime café when it became apparent that the required changes would not be able to be made to the heritage-listed building.

Saint Kilda recently welcomed in a new neighbour, Girl Next Door, who resides in the arty Tolarno Hotel on Fitzroy St. It’s owned by Sylvan Spatarel and Benny Thompson, also co-owner of Sauced, and head chef Alex Thompson has previously worked under Gordon Ramsay. Green Breakfast Bowl - Coconut cream, vanilla and basil infused ricotta, pistachio, chia crumble, kiwi fruit, grapes, bee pollen, coconut
Great little venue with a nice selection of food. We were treated a platter of different foods but the smoothies and pulled beef sandwiches were our favourite! If on the strip do check it out.

Girl Next Door is serious about breakfast and they have a range of delicious and healthy options. I had a chance to try their Chia BreakfastBowl, Homemade Roasted Nut Granola, Cornetto, Pulled Beef, Sandwich and Beans.
We started with the 3 breakfast board and even though the board is not available in their menu, you can order the Chia Breakfast Bowl and their daily muffins separately. The breakfast bowl is different, and one of my favourite!
The Homemade Roasted Nut Granola is probably one of the healthiest option in the menu. As the chef is heavily inspired by healthy fitspo food in breakfast, this light menu will be perfect for those who love a hearty breakfast but without the guilt.
The Cornetto is an Italian Croissant served with any of the two - Strawberry Jam, Nutella, Honey, Peanut Butter or Vegemite. The crunch and the soft buttery centred was unforgettable. My kind of breakfast!
Their Pulled Beef Sandwich is to die for. With their 8 hour roasted beef brisket, melted, cheddar, chipotle and spinach stuffed in sourdough, this is no ordinary toastie.

If breakfast is your thing, make sure you head down to St Kilda and visit the newly established breakfast cafe along Fitzroy St. Make sure to spot the striking magenta sign at Tolarno Hotel. Girl Next Door is serious about breakfast and they have a range of delicious and healthy options. They have proved that breakfast can be different and interesting. During their influencer's breakfast, TwoPaperPen had the chance to try some of their bests and also some of the exclusive menus just for this event.
The Best Beans Around certainly held true to their name. These slow-cooked fagioli beans were probably the highlight of the breakfast for me. Cooked in a rich and exceedingly palatable rich tomato-based sauce, the beans had flawless consistency, providing a beautiful texture without being mushy. Combined with the generous chunks of mozzarella cheese, this went extremely well with the lightly toasted sourdough. Fantastic!
That Pulled Beef Sandwich was absolutely stunning and I’d grab loads more of that, balanced out with some healthier Breakfast Bowls of course!
Great little cafe on St Kilda's lively Fitzroy Street.
Was invited along as part of a blogger event to try their new breakfast menu. Favourites were the pulled pork sandwich and chia breakfast bowl.
