This is a great go to place when you are lazy to cook and just want to takeaway a good chicken meal. The portions are generous and huge and pricing is good too. For $30 we got a whopping big burger, fries slathered with bacon and an addictive mayo sauce and a half chicken! There was just sooo much food
I would avoid ordering the chicken breast just because it’s tougher and you would need some sauce to go with it. The chicken thigh is much better - love that the marinade with the roasted chicken just worked so well and it’s healthier than fried chicken too!!
Despite my intentions of wanting to eat healthy, I finished the fries in a flash! Reminds me of a halal snack pack, but with bacon. Just so good!
Suggestion to the restaurant - would be better if you took our names when we order so that you don’t have to yell out everything we ordered. Would be more efficient too!
I really love Chicken Central, although it might not look pretty, that doesn't matter in my eyes. These burgers are fabulous and the servings are massive, fit for a hungry family.
unreal feed for a friday night. great value for money. got the half chicken with chips and salad. salad was amazing- half broccoli and half rissoni plus peas. felt nutritious as well as satisfying. lots of delicious chips and good chicken. will go back!!!!!
Editing my review after tonight. Used to be 5 now a 3.5. The service at this store is actually quite awful. A young man working tonight took our order in an abrupt manner. When we asked if we could eat in his response was a rude “well we close in 20 minutes”. Also we saw a worker throw out corn, if you reduced the price as it was nearly closing time, I would’ve bought it. Not sure I’ll return, the Balwyn store is nicer.
Presidential fries, salad, cheeseburger and muchacho was my order. Absolutely amazing. Salad was fresh and made with quality ingredients which complimented each other so well. The buns on the burgers are actually real bread and not a revolting, sugary, glossy brioche bun. The presidential fries are always amazing. Chicken central is my favourite chicken shop.
Have ordered uber eats from here a few times always so satisfied. The burgers are so fresh and full of flavor! The chips are always perfect! 100% better than any other local burger place!

Food review:
⭐️ I rate the burger! Delicious, packed with flavor with the excellent addition of onions but a little messy to eat. Loaded fries: share them between 2/3 because there's a lot. But not a fan because the chips were plain and too soft.
Service:
My only complaint is that when we got there for our own dinner time, they were out of charcoal chicken. On one hand, this is a testament to how good their chicken is. On the other hand, we were limited in our options. But hey, the burgers were still pretty dope!
Vibrant, fun feel to the place. Limited seats, and food is cooked in a linear fashion (FIFO). Waiting time wasn't too long, and mates enjoyed their BOP. My chicken strips were a little dry and thicker than I thought they'd be. Chips were okay, not amazing. Might return to try the BOP next time, but strips are out.
Think your classic charcoal chicken shop on steroids. They do the classics like roast chooks, veggies and gravy as well as anyone but the point of difference is the amazing burgers and wraps not to mention fried chicken and delicious salads. Constantly running competitions on their Instagram page to reward their loyal customers, and always friendly service when you drop in.
The humble chicken shop done well. The chicken is juicy and not too salty, which is often the case in some lesser places, where they try to mask non free range, frozen chicken and/or low quality with salt. The salad accompaniments were fresh. I had the brown rice and Greek salad which were bursting in flavor. Can't fault this place for a nice, healthy protein fix.
Delicious burgers and wraps however, the salads would be better if there was a simpler options like a garden salad to choose from or at least could be made quickly on the spot.
Oh yum!! Just bought this home tonight as after a big night yesterday we needed chicken and chips - follow these guys on Instagram and food looks amazing - so I got a whole chicken plus gravy and chips and WOW.
Chips cooked to order and are crispy and salty - chicken was peppery flavoursome and so tender - no stuffing though (would have loved some) but was so good.
I over ordered as usual so the biggest chips could feed 4 people not 2 plus a toddler 😂 salads looked amazing too!!
This is one of the most amazing charcoal chicken shops in Melbourne! The staff are always very friendly and the entire shop has a great atmosphere with good music and entire shop being clean (unlike a lot of chicken shops you will come across).
The chips are always cooked to perfection. I could happily just eat the chips for a meal they are really that good, be sure to ask for chicken salt though! Standouts for me would be the chicken (obviously), chicken strips and chicken burgers.
Would highly recommend!
We eat dinner from here at least once a week. (Not gonna lie. sometimes twice.)
Legit the best charcoal chicken I have ever had - in all forms. Sometimes I get chicken on its own, sometimes in a burger and sometimes in a wrap.
It's always delicious, succulent and well basted. The chicken burgers are the best chicken burgers I've had from anywhere - even better than restaurants where it might cost you $25 for a burger.
It gets pretty crowded on Thurs/Fri/Sat nights though, so you want to go earlier to risk missing out!
Hands down best Charcoal Chicken in Melbourne! Big statement? Yeah I know but it really is! Succulent, tasty and perfectly seasoned ! Excellent value- using large chickens! Staff are awesome and friendly. This is more than just a job for them. Salads are fresh, and tasty and more than just your standards! Been stalking these guys for years and at least they are a little closer to me now- but my 20 minute drive for their chicks are well worth it!

So many varieties of chicken burger! It's a great idea to put extras on the menu and at a good price. Allows you to make a perfect chicken burger.

Quick service, nice staff. I got the president burger the chicken was really nice however it was a bit saucy. The mini chips were very big for $2.50 and were nice standard chips
Good food and friendly service but they continously forget to add extras to the burgers when you get take away like jalapeños or cheese etc.

Amazing. Super delicious chicken burgers!! So much filling and the marinade on the chicken is incredible. Tried the brown rice and the tabouli salads and both were delicious and full of flavour. Chips were great with lots of delicious chicken salt. The lady serving was polite, efficient and very helpful. Will definitely be back.

Parking can be difficult but otherwise definitely one of my go to's for chicken.
I got a "heavy weight" and it was definitely one of the best chicken burgers I've ever had !! Really tasty and good and very quickly provided
I don’t eat much meat but was craving a fried chicken burger, so wanted to make sure it was free range. Had the BFF and it was absolutely delicious - the fillet was clearly good quality and still juicy inside the batter, and the burger itself was simple with not too many ingredients shoved in there like many burger places do these days. Will definitely be back next time the craving hits!
The food i got there was pretty good but pretty pricey. And was told a regular chips would be fine for one person, was way too much chips.
BFF burger was amazing.
Big crispy chicken breast bursting with flavour.
Chicken so tasty to the bone and yet so tender. Serve either with rice or chips. Not a lot chicken place has that option. Salad was fresh really goes with the chicken. Serving was fast. It was busy and we only wait for 15 min.
Always great service here and their chips are amazing 👏 I'm loving their CC chicken strips, so addictive 😍
