Review Adonai Foods - Melbourne

Worth stopping by if you're in the area to try some Nigerian Cuisine. Staff were friendly and seating was comfortable. Got the plantain and beef, which was satisfying albeit a bit on a pricier end for what it was at $20. Will probably come back to try some of the more unique items on the menu. Get the puff puff, it's a delicious donut that's not too sweet

First time having Nigerian food and my tastebuds were in for a pleasure! Had jollof rice with beef and plantains with chicken — all were super tasty and perfectly spicy. The owner/man behind the counter was super friendly and helpful in explaining everything too. Will certainly be back to try more from the menu!

Being a Nigerian cuisine virgin - I couldn't have asked for a better first time. The owner/chef of the place was so gentle, helpful in her service and offered us the whole gamut of what I should be eating as a first-timer. Boy was I surprised, the amazing smoky tomato flavor of the rice and the hidden spice that kicks in when you least expect it to. Limited menu items, but done right....my taste buds were happy and I hope this establishment grows more through word of mouth to a wider audience.

OMG! This place took me back to my childhood! My grandmother's jollof, moimoi with my cousin's in Ibadan, chinchin treats in the office when I was supposed to be dieting 😅. Being so far from familiarity Adonai is a rare and very appreciated oasis. Anyone curious about trying out some West African cuisine... You're very fortunate to have such an ideal opportunity on your doorstep!

I'm a huge fan of Jollof rice and have attempted to cook this dish several times to no avail. I was over the moon to stumble upon this place so close to my home. I ordered the tomato/Jollof rice with chicken for takeaway and it was so reminiscent of my Nigerian friend's home cooking. It's not fancy, but it's great home cooking and at a fair price. I'll definitely be back and excited to try the fried plantains.

Walked into this place and was greeted by the nicest lady that helped me with my first order of Nigerian cuisine. We settled on the fish stew and it was amazing filling, and homey! LOVE.

Delicious Nigerian food. Everything is cooked from scratch in the premises. If you like goat meat and don’t mind eating all parts of meat including organs, you’ll enjoy the food here. I love it. The food here ticks all the boxes for me. Yam eaten with the goat stew is out of this world, in term of flavour. I’d love to try the plantain next time.
