A quaint local bakery with cute pastel pink signage, Simon brings back a sense of nostalgia with his simple and unpretentious baked goods.
The Carrot Cake Loaf is beautifully spiced, a tad crumbly, and frosted with a layer of sweet and tangy cream cheese frosting. It could definitely do with a bit more of that delicious frosting! No complaints whatsoever with the sausage roll. Chunky and meaty, with a flaky crust, it was an honest to goodness afternoon snack.
With such delicious goodies, I’ve already put in an order for more cakes.
Feeling peckish I called into Simons Cakes looking for something for brunch. There are cakes galore in this place you are definitely spoilt for choice.
The service was really friendly and welcoming too.
I ordered a plain croissant which looked amazing. The croissant was crispy on top, it was really fresh and buttery. Yummo.
For some reason which I assume was intentional, the croissant wasn’t crispy on the base. This is the first time that I’ve had a croissant like that but it didn’t matter too much, it was still crispy and really tasty.
I’ll be back lol.
Paid a visit to Simon’s and bought a most tasty cake. It was rich and sweet; the owners were very helpful when I was picking it out. Also a regular purchaser of the spinach quiche here- you can’t go wrong here. Everything is delicious!

Popped by this place after hearing good reviews from locals. I was really impressed with the friendliness of the staff and variety of the goods. They've got heaps of lactose free/gluten free options and even low sugar superfood balls! Definitely recommend.
Another one of North Roads little secrets.
A very pleasant place for a coffee and an excellent muffin.
The latkes are really good and the cakes are always a hit at home.
Simon's Cakes is a wonderful little Cake Shop that serves traditional recipes of some classic favourites as well as a few of Simon's own recipes, the Cakes are really nice! The Coffee is brilliant, and I have to say that I love the little Sausage Rolls That Simon makes, this is a great place to grab a Coffee and a slice of Cake or to grab a Cake for a celebration, I Highly Recommend Simon's Cakes on North Rd in Ormond.

We asked Simon to make us a very simple chocolate cake for my 2 year old daughter's birthday. It was delicious, not so sweet. It was a good size for a $40 cake. My husband and I just added a few toys to decorate it. The kids love it. :-) Update: May 12, 2018 Ordered a smaller chocolate cake ($28), asked Simon to put "Happy Mother's Day". So yummy!
Simon was very helpful in creating the ideal edible icing image which was quite tricky for our daughter's birthday cake. I also highly recommend his gluten free cakes, they are delicious! So glad to have found a place that has affordable cakes (including gluten free) that taste great, the friendly service is an added bonus.
On the recommendation of a friend I contacted Simon's to arrange for a birthday cake for a large gathering. I ordered a 12-inch gluten-free chocolate cake which was also lactose-free and it was delicious! I had many compliments from the attendees
