Got the veggie burger. Bun was nice and soft. Veggie patty had great flavours. Could do with some more sauce though. Great service, real quick
The chunky chips are possibly the best chips I've ever had. I'm a regular to this store and they never disappoint.

The burgers here are delicious been many many times I guess I'm sort addicted but the good thing is I have tried them all and can't pick a favourite.The brisket is soft smokey gooey and totally moorish the barramundi is fresh and tastes like real fish the chicken burger is healthy grilled buttermilk breast and the veggie burger is the best I've had also love the house cut chips with cheese and bacon
We were very surprised with how good the food was. We've always passed by it but only recently tried it for the first time. I had the brisket and bacon burger and the salted caramel milkshake. The burger was tasty and the salted caramel milkshake was the best I've had. My husband had the barramundi burger and he said it tasted amazing. Will definitely be back. Glad we live nearby!

Never had a bad burger from here, always full of flavour. Always get the popcorn chicken, so yum!
The venue its self isn't anything special but it does the job. No need to book in advance, yet to see this place full, presumably a lot of take away orders I guess.
Regular for lunch, love the salads, always tasty and quite filling. The chicken is one of the tastiest I've ever had, and no meal is complete without it.
They also deliver with Uber eats, and it's filled in for dinner on more than one occasion.
Good burgers, good price, could you ask for anything more? Chips were to die for, barramundi was fresh, and the brisket was brilliant. Definitely recommend, a standout which is hard to do with the thousands of burger shops these days! I will be returning!
Really awesome, simple burgers. Keep going back to the zigzag because it's just really well done with good ingredients, great service and even delicious free water!

Great burgers and friendly service. Probably the best vegetarian burger I've had in Melbourne - love pickles and relish with a crispy/soft patty! My partner had the brisket burger which he thought was great, and he was pretty happy with the thick cut chips as well. I also really liked the lychee, strawberry and orange infused water :)

Zig and Zag were a clown duo from Melbourne who were known and billed professionally as Zig and Zag, who appeared on Australian television from its inception in 1956 to 1999
But enough with nostalgia,
I find myself in the inner north-western suburb of Ascot Vale,
am hungry for burger and the beef bacon deluxe burger what catches my eye on the menu
the burger is actually pretty damn solid.
Nicely grilled and not too densely constructed, this was probably one of the better tasting burgers I’ve had recently. It had a surprisingly complex beefy flavour, and was obviously made from higher quality beef, as for the toppings, there’s a fairly lengthy selection to be had; I went relatively simple, with bacon melted cheese, pickles, tomato relish, and zig zag sauce, the sauce added a creamy tanginess, though no actual heat, the pickles were fine.
The soft sesame seed bun was fresh and complimented the burger well. I took my first bite, oh my goodness! Let the good times roll!, if they’re serving food of this caliber then I clearly need to check the place out again

The burgers are very good at this place! Also tried the popcorn chicken which was delish. The only thing to improve is that sometimes the house cut chips are over done and taste terrible, but when done right are very tasty!
Juicy, juicy briskey burger. Deliciously crispy seasoned chips. While the brisket was not BBQ smoked, it was still delicious and generous. I'll be back when I can to try some more fare.
Had the beef and cheese burger which was quite impressive. A juicy burger with good sized meat patty, melted cheese and pickles. Was a little messy to eat as you'd expect but very fresh and tasty with prompt service. Would definetly come here again to try more of the menu.
Overall, this place is actually very good. It doesn't look great from the outside, but the quality of the burgers is excellent - comparable to some of the best in Melbourne with affordable prices and excellent service. I have had the beef brisket with cheese which has very tender beef and the veggie burger - also delicious.
The salads are good too.
My wife and I consider zig zag our go to for our burger and chip needs! Their beef brisket is just amazing, the popcorn chicken is tasty and their milkshakes are just great. Service is always fast and reliable. We've taken lots of friends here that are visiting us as we're confident they'll be impressed. I can't see a reason why we'd stop coming here at our current rate - about once a fortnight.
found this place by accident, every time I go in there I am the only one there, so I am not waiting in line, and can seat anywhere I want inside or outside.

My personal favorite burgers in Melbourne. The bacon burger with traditional patty is the best. Home cut chips and speedy service makes this a great lunch/dinner spot.
The burgers here are some of the best I've ever had. Classic burgers with modern fresh ingredients. Fast friendly service too. Highly recommend!
We've been here multiple times now. The burgers are great. Barramundi, Chicken and Beef all delicious. And the thing is, it's never that busy. You don't wait in line, there's always plenty of spare tables and food comes out quick.

Zigzag burgers are awesome! As somewhat of a self-acclaimed burger aficionado, I'm always on the look out for a new burger joint. Enter Zigzag! Fantastic burger menu. Not an overly big menu, but covering all meat loving basics. Either you choose the traditional beef patty or the super tender slow cooked brisket. Both are delicious, but personally I prefer the traditional patty as I believe you get more meat and more taste. I would rate the bacon cheese deluxe burger as one of the best in Melbourne. Chips are great too, as is the service.
Had the beef burger with the pickles, delicious and great buns, loads of flavour, good amount of sauce. Generous serving of chips too, will definitely be back!!!

Beef burgers generally good and the house cut chips are amazing! Good value for money. Pretty quick for takeaways. Had the fish burger which was a bit of a miss, so stick to the traditional burgers

Do yourself a favour and get the house cut chips. It feels like you're eating 10 whole potatoes but they're so tasty you won't even care! I ate them all before I could take a picture.

Awesome in all aspects. Came here with a few friends and was instantly greeted by the really friendly staff and offered a table with menus and water brought to us! Was totally not expecting this sort of service and wasn't complaining. I ordered the Fire Breather burger and a side of popcorn chicken. My friends ordered the same as me with a side of chips and a milkshake. The presentation of the food was great, really appealing to the eye. The burger was awesome, the patty wasn't oily and all the ingredients inside, as well as the bread seemed really fresh. I'm definitely becoming a regular here!
Always great food plus the service is excellent, even with takeaway I got a drink poured and a newspaper to pass the small time It took to receive my order

Great food and fast service. We phoned in our order and it was ready when we got there. Friendly staff met us and had our order of Brisket burger, hand cut chips, pop corn chicken and beef burger ready. We highly recommend you try this burger Joint the food was just delicious.

Original beef burger and brisket bacon deluxe. My wife and I, both keen burger lovers, visited Zig Zag the other day. I ordered the brisket bacon deluxe (which was to die for!!) and my wife ordered the original beef burger which contained a succulent black Angus patty. Overall, we were both extremely pleased with our purchases and on a personal note, I highly recommend the brisket bacon deluxe.
Awesome - a must visit. I have been twice already and it has only been open 4 days.... the Brisket Bacon Deluxe burger is to die for, so soft and juicy. The prawn popcorn is delish, the hand-cut fries are actually potatoes not just factory mashup and the chilli mayo you can't get enough of (make you asks for extra dipping source because you will want more). Staff are very happy friendly people
