Visited Burgerlove to try out their new Breakfast menu that had just started at the South Melbourne outlet. The new menu has a fixed amount of items - ranging from grilled cheese sandwiches to cheesy fries and hash browns. We tried: •Bacon cheese sandwich •Egg Bacon cheese sandwich with grilled jalapenos. •Burgerlove fries -When you buy any breakfast item, you get a regular coffee for just $1, how cool is that! So we took a cappuchino and a mocha. -Here's another tip: Ask for their secret menu and order the Cheesy bacon chicken nuggets! The sandwiches were really good. Well toasted brioche buns, the eggs were fried really well and generous servings of bacon slices in the sandwiches. The burgerlove fries were thick chunky fries loaded with a special burger sauce, cheese and finely diced onions. Our absolute favourite was the Cheesy bacon nuggets! Each bite was coated with melted cheese and bacon bits - guilty indulgence! •Will definitely visit Burgerlove again in the future to try out their burgers.

Used sosure app for the first time. Staff was helpful. Burger size is good, bun was good. Just a little bit too oily.

Seriously naughty! I enjoyed the beef burger here it was a major flavour flave. Lots of drink flavours I chose the pasito. The chicken burger was good, but the beef was much better. I also tried the jalapeño poppers which were nice and cheesy. The decor is fun with a mr packman game in the corner. Flashback to the 80s

Tried the $5 burger with fries on the side (additional charge) which was a good deal. The burger was good and full of flavour. Street parking is available. Will return to try out other burgers on their menu.

Fantastic burger. Lovely atmosphere. Easy to park as well.

A burger joint tucked away in an industrial area.

Caramel shake is thick and creamy and perfectly paired with a burger.

Hamburger had the softest milk buns with a tender meat patty and fragrant cheese. The burger was were light yet flavorful.

Chicken wings - crisp crumbled batter with smoked bbq sauce.
Chips have an oily after taste but crisp.

Love a burger with an egg inside. This burger is huge! Having 2 beef patties, cheese and bacon! And one of my favourite parts was popping the egg yolk! So satisfying!

I visited BurgerLove for an event hosted with Canon Australia and if it wasn’t enough to combine my endless passion for photography with burgers, there were even some special treats thrown into the party (both food and non food)!

BurgerLove is located in South Melbourne in a little side street and although it may miss the eye of many (as it is not located in the main road), once you spot it, there is TRUE love radiating from it indeed! Not only are the walls decorated with the most beautiful and iconic drawings of some people dancing and singing, but the whole inside is equally decorated with remarkable and outstanding colorful drawings! From a simple burger drawing to a more complex and huge stack, filled with unlimited toppings, to distinct and famous characters such as Darth Vader from Star Wars, this place is A BLAST! Still sophisticated and elegantly decorated with some bubble lights and a very pleasant and uplifting music, your heart will certainly start beating faster indeed! It is love? Maybe, maybe 😂

I was kindly welcomed by Emilia, one of the BurgerLove staff, who was not only herself so gorgeous and kind and but made me feel so loved and happy right from the start. She showed me the table where the diverse vegan food items were being brought in and where… some very special cookies were already much appreciated (as you ‘ll see) sitting on the center of the table. I introduced myself to the people sitting on the table and since we were still waiting for a few more, I had a little chat with some of the other invitees as well as took a little trip inside the venue.

Not only do they have a very open kitchen, where you can see the burgers being made, but they have so many interesting things that I wouldn’t finish this review today even 😂 . Trying to make it short and highlighting what I found more interesting, they have a huuuuuge arcade machines located towards the end of the venue, a spinning wheel where you can win prizes (from socks to desserts, fries, burgers, drinks, ... basically everything!) and make your experience even more incredible and they have the whole wall decorated with $100 notes (that on a first sight look real and very tempting 😂)

Since this was an event launch I got to try all their vegan items and trust me when I say that there was a lot of food. And I mean a loooooot of food. As this was a different experience than a brunch/lunch/dinner I will describe my opinion about the different items.

Their vegan menu includes:

- Vegan patties: there are three types of patties that they have and we got to try them in different types of burgers and with different toppings.
1.There is a Vegan Beef patty, which has an amazing juicy taste and although it doesn't really taste like meat, the flavour is quite interesting, peculiar and pleasant! Well seasoned, moist and soft it was my second favourite! It came paired with ketchup and yellow mustard and I think the patty could be a bigger and I would definitely love to try a burger with multiple patties - like vegan version of a 'big mac' but obviously much muuuuuch better!
2. Then there was the Vegan Chicken patty which was my least favourite because the versions that I tried were along with sriracha and hot chilly and my tolerance to spiciness is close to zero 😂 The burger itself it like a giant chicken nugget but with a thinner crumble coat and more soft and a big soggy. I think in this case (and I left my opinion as a friendly suggestion) a bigger patty and a thicker coating would would so much better and not only give more taste and that crunchy feeling to the burger as it would make it more 'instagramable' and mouth-watering. This can easily be made as they make the burgers themselves (yes, everything is homemade!) and I think it would be very much appreciated! 🙌
3. Finally the Garden Veggie patty. My absolute favourite! The veggie combo is so good with corn, peas and other vegetables that I am not really sure which ones but it was a true pleasure to eat. It was soft and well seasoned and of good portion and the herbed mayo with it was AMAZING! They strike a perfect balance of savoury + sweet and it made me think that next time I need to find the recipe to recreate these patties myself!

- Ingredients/extras - the burgers came with different ingredients such as vegan cheese (soooooo good, always so good!), pickles, diced onions,coleslaw, jalepenos, grilled onion, tomato, lettuce, tomato and even pineapple and even beetroot!

- Buns: they also have 3 incredible buns, one which is similar to your usual milk bun patty (and coloured yellow/orange) and two others with very vibrant colours. I liked the matcha and beetroot bun thee most as I found them more soft and with a subtle special flavour, but all of them are pretty good!

- Vegan nuggets - if vegan burgers weren't enough, these guys are really in love with providing good ingredients and products to their vegan costumers and they created a vegan version of their usual chicken nuggets! YEY! They usually come in a pack of 6 but we obviously had more than that due to the event purposes and WOW. Possibly one of the highlights of the night! They are made with no artificial colors or artificial preservatives and they were so tasty - again, they didn't taste like chicken but the flavour was incredible and with an incredible crunchy coating. Good in size and served with two different types of aioli vegan mayo (one with herbs and the other without herbs) those dipping sauces make these perfect for an easy snack to enjoy 🙌 It is indeed a great piece of chicken! 😂 (vegan pun intended).

- Loaded fries - we tried a new version of their fries and it this case the fires were crispy and crunchy, topped with what it seemed a refried beans paste (similar to a non vegan version with chilly con carne mix) and a few jalapenos on top of that. I wasn't personally not a huge fan of the combo but on an objective perceptive I think maybe people will love this, specially as a snack while watching the footy game or even as a side for the burgers. I suggested to Emilia another side that I would personally find a lot more interesting: sweet potato fries with aioli vegan mayo and I hope they can consider that as I am sure a lot of people would appreciate it!

- Nachos fries - this is a similar version to the previous loaded fried but in this case they add guacamole and nachos to the fries too and if you are a Mexican lover you are definiteness going to enjoy the combo. Because there was a significant amount of dressing and toppings, I found the bottom fries slightly soggy and not crunchy due to the moist environment from the toppings, so I also left some suggestions to Emilia about how I thought this could be slightly improved.

- Blue heaven shake – this was just terrific! Seriously! I didn’t know at the time which smoothie/shake to choose because I was told that the taste was amazing from all of them. I ended up choosing the ‘blue heaven’ for me and… didn’t share it with anyone 😂 it is SO GOOD! Besides the interesting colour, it is surprisingly and possibly one of the best shakes I have ever had. After having it I obviously had to ask how they made such a magical mouth-watering drink and I was told that all their vegan shakes are made with a mix of soy milk and soy icecream - which gives it SUCH a creamy consistency (definitely the highlight here and what makes you want to have more and more!) and then depending on the flavour they add some syrups or extra ingredients. About the taste itself I don’t know how to describe it besides just the riiiiight sweetness and iconic taste - it certainly does not taste like chocolate, caramel or honey, nor vanilla or anything in particular, but at the same time it tastes so good. Sorry I cannot be more explicit here but just saying that you need to try it 😂

- Vanilla, Chocolate and Caramel shakes - even though I had my own smoothie I actually tried a couple more of the vegan flavours and all these ones I can attest that they are so so incredibly good that I seriously don't think you can go wrong with any of them. The only one I didn't try was the strawberry one and I was told by another invitee that they found it too sweet, and not a very strong strawberry taste. If I were to choose one, I would probably go for the chocolate as the taste is not too intense and enjoyably sweet! And besides, everyone loves chocolate 😂

- Butterbing cookies – it was my first time trying these and… if eating 5 of those doesn’t tell you something, then I don’t know what does 😂 . The cookies are of great size and there are two chocolate semi soft cookies with a filling in the middle of either a mint dough or a peanut butter jelly dough. SERIOUSLY, OMG. Actually I was so excited at the first glimpse of the cookies that I just picked one randomly and even though I am not a huge fan of anything mint, I took the first bite, got surprised to see that it was a mint flavour and… LOVED IT. I barely have words to describe how decadent and gooey this was and how the mix works so well, having the ideal amount of gooeyness with crunchiness and with that subtle and nourishing sweetness that settles in everytime you take a bite. It is to die and cry for more – SO MUCH LOVE. And just imagine, me being so overwhelmed by the mint one and only THEN being told there was a peanut butter one. WOW. My heart almost missing a beat even 😂 . Of course that I had huge expectations for that and it surpassed everything I ever though of it – it is so perfect that I just wanted to eat a batch of them 😂 for real! And again, the surprise stroke again and not only did I find the most delicious peanut butter dough filling but actually there was jelly inside it too! WOW. I have never been a huge fan again of the peanut butter jelly combo (just more peanut butter, peanut butter salted caramel or peanut butter chocolate 😂) and let me tell you that I cannot think of another thing right now. SUCH a perfect combo.

Regarding the event itself, Rob, one of the staff members from Canon South Melbourne store was incredible and showed me the different cameras and lenses and even let me play around with some of my dream lenses (those very expensive ones that cost waaaaaaaay more that they should 😂). It was any photographer dream. I am so grateful for this whole experience and I cannot thank enough Steve and all the Canon Experience team for such an unique vision coming true 🙌

Walk down an alleyway and you never know what you will find in Melbourne! #🍔♥is a funky burger joint in South Melbourne, well worth a visit. My partner ordered the dirtyb**tard and a salted caramel milkshake and I got the canuck. Juicy and tasty, and just a little messy, we will be back! As for milkshake lovers, you won't be disappointed.

A generous amount of food was given to us and it was quite greasy but it still had a great taste. We used Zomato gold making it a bit cheaper though the combo was no allowed, the waitress was quite helpful. The atmosphere had a cool groovy vibe to it with an arcade machine and a wheel of fortune to get different rewards.

A really funky and hip burger joint, with various outlets in Melbourne. The South Melbourne store is located in a quiet lane, but the interior is what you’ll fall in love with. From colourful graffiti art walls, to hanging pot plants, and even fun props like a mini Groot, food plushies and a Game of Thrones throne!

They have so many burgers to choose from, and plenty of sides too. The amount of vegan options here is outstanding - from burgers to milkshakes to even vegan chicken nuggets!

I was feeling hungry at the time and decided to go for one of the most popular burgers - the MeatAxe. It was humongous - with both fried chicken and a beef patty (great for those like me who can’t decide which to order...)! The burger was stacked so high and it was impossible to eat without breaking it apart! Although the chicken was on the drier side, the beef patty was super juicy and delicious. The jalapeño poppers were so nice and filled with cheese too, but the best part would have to be the onion straws - so crispy and addictive! This is definitely a burger you don’t want to miss!

We also had the Disco Fries which were really good too. The fries were so thick and crispy, and the cheese and gravy was the perfect combination. Just make sure to eat it quickly!

The vegan strawberry milkshake was also divine! Made with soy ice cream, but I didn’t taste any aftertaste! Super thick, sweet and refreshing!

Overall, it’s a great place to check out for burgers! They have plenty of other outlets around Melbourne which are worth a visit too!

Impressive burger, easily one of the best burgers I have tried in Melbourne. Had the juicy Lucy which was exactly that, nice and juicy and cheesy, a verry good burger. Mac and cheese bomb was ok, probably need them a bit smaller.
This joint is tucked in the middle of nowhere but definitely check it out. I would give the burger 4.5/5 I think.

Holy hell. This burger was IMMENSE. Could hardly even hold the entire thing. Really great cook on the meat, juicy and tender without being overly greasy. Not for the faint of heart!

Super stoked it had plenty of vegan options that could also be GF.
Hubby had the burger with the lot - I’ll probably grab that next time.
I ordered the veggie patty naked (no bun) and enjoyed it.
Also ordered the fat fries but the fries were a little over down for me.
Kids had the max bomb which they liked.
We also ordered some choc tops (I couldn’t eat the cone as it has gluten but hubby said they were super soggy) so I wouldn’t recommend them.
Food took a bit of time coming out but at least the kids had some colouring activities to keep them occupied.

Had such a great experience at Burgerlove! Not one to review, but just had to say the food was on point this time! Great burger pieced together with a wonderful bun, fries were delish, only downer was there was no alcohol! 

Highly rate this joint. If you're looking for a quick juicy burger which actually stays together, then this is your place to go!

Came here after golf with my mate around 8pm. Wasn't expecting a burger joint in an allyway, but glad we came here. I ordered the Dirtybastard and buffalo wings, which were all very good. Chips were good as well. Reasonably price, will definately be back. If they only served beer!

The go to burger spot in South Melbourne. Have been a satisfied customer for over a year with a great experience through any interaction be it take away, uber eats or dining in. The burgers are Melbourne renowned and deserve to be! My order - cheeky cheesy with grilled chicken bacon and pineapple!

I am never disappointed when I come here. Love love this cute place. The burgers are amazing. It is always my first stop after arriving in Melbourne

Food:
Dirty Fries - Very value for $, gr8 serving! Chips were crispy! Generous with the bacon too!
Juicy Gigi - Won't say it tasted fantastic but it was OK. Agree with previous reviews about the cheap bun but other than that, satisfying meal for the price!

Service: It was OK. Just unfortunate that they use plastic cutleries/ paper cups here instead of greener ones.

Ambience: Cosy, walls were fun-ly decorated.

I'll rate it 3.75 but it's not possible so here's a 4.0 hahaha.

We came here with 10+ people and completely took over the restaurant and the staff reacted amazingly and very graciously. The food did take some time to come however, we were highly impressed with the quality of the food.

The patties were delicious (at least in regards to what I ate) and when the review says all the burgers are good, believe me, the reviews are right. Some of my mates said the burgers were a bit too salty.

Perhaps my only disappointment were the fries with the sauce (wasn't that amazing, would not order again), being a bit of an environment freak, it kills me that they don't have reusable cups but paper cups.

Would love to try the milkshakes and the MeatAxe. (It looked absolutely delicious!)

Was a Friday afternoon, typical time for lunch and ordered CFK. Was the best burger ever but the service could have been better so 4.5 instead of 5. Will surely visit again

When I first saw the Juicy Lucy ($10) burger in the 51 days, they advertised it as “The Ultimate Cheeseburger”, and I have to admit, that’s pretty bang on the money here. Aside from a generous helping of cheese in this burger, the patty itself- which is actually two patties molded together- contains a little reservoir of cheese in the middle, which oozes out as you bite into it.

When you want to know where you'll be having your last burger before you die, Burger Love is one of them. Try not to get the normal burger, rather the crazy one like the Paralyse.

I have visited burger love two times. Both times I ordered chilli cheese fries and 'burger love' burger. Both were really nice and value for money. 
Tried their Chicken burger - which was not up to the mark. Chicken really tasted the one you get from mcDonald's. 
My daughter loved her blue heaven milkshake and popcorn chicken (which comes with yummy cheese sauce)

By far the greatest burger place you can find in all of Melbourne. Burgerlove formally known as Cafe 51 boasts some of the most filling and outrageous burgers out there. If you're up for the challenge try any of the instagram burgers.
I got the Hulk and my life has not been the same ever since.

These burgers are amazing, cant get enough! Love the atmosphere and servive was great. All in all best burger shop around. This place never disappoints, thank you burgerlove! 🍔❤

One of the best value burger places in Melbourne. love it. Tucked away in alley in South Melbourne in a commercial area so not really near any other eateries. The burgers are massive and tasty. $4 upgrade for a combo is a bargain. The chips are always crisp and fresh and come with a nice spicy seasoning. Only criticism is the burgers are so big that the bun cannot hold it together and things can get very messy. Guess they give u a wet towel to clean up after.

Great taste and exciting burgers, friendly staff, a cool place to go individually as well as in a group. good value for money and definitely worth going back to.

Perfect burger for a hangover. Big portions with plenty of flavour. We got loaded fries which were very disappointing unfortunately. I probably would return but just for the burger. Also my friend got a paralyser burger and it was pretty impressive.

BL is in an alley/side street. Hidden gem. Worth a visit. And no joke the team there are pretty entertaining, fun and super nice.

To be honest, I found it a bit overrated, basing my expectations on the reviews and ratings on here. But perhaps I just didn't order the best dish.

I found the "Dirty Fries" (chips covered in cheese and bacon) to be subpar compared to other loaded fries I've had elsewhere.

I also have a pet-peeve about burger places that don't care to use decent bread. I know that the focal point of a burger is the meat, but it's just one of those added details that really rounds off a meal. The buns they use here are very average indeed; cheapest of the cheap.

I was pleasantly surprised with a very decent coffee though, considering it isn't this place's specialty.

Fantastic value and more ingredient options than any other place I know of

AND they pride themselves on going big!!

Nice little shop in the middle of an industrial area, inviting decor, very friendly and welcoming staff.
Ordered a Gigi, CFK and a HSP.
Chicken in the CFK was juicy and flavoursome BBQ and Chipotle sauce worked well together.
Gigi took a bit longer to come out but we received the HSP in the mean time. DELICIOUS!
Will be back to try more burgers and another HSP is a must.
