This is one of my favourite bars. Really good, cheap craft beer selection, excellent staff who are happy to provide recommendations and tastings, and the food is pretty solid for bar food. It's a small place and it's not super fancy. I probably wouldn't come here for a fancy dinner, but for a couple of quiet drinks and a pub feed with friends it's fantastic. They always have sport on and if there's something you're particularly interested in the bartenders will often put it on on request.
This bar serves a great number of American-style bar dishes like burgers, buffalo wings, and hotdogs. The burgers was juicy but lacking anything special. Buffalo wings are great and have a little of kick. You can play free pool and they have weekly movie nights too.
Golden State burger was great. So were the Corn dogs. So was the honey mustard sauce. Winner. Large variety of American beers on tap. 50% off food for the next month on TheFork
I had an absolutely terrific meal here on the weekend. Everything was spot on.
We had the steak and bourbon style sauce which is heavenly - the steak was juicy and plump and really well seasoned.
I loved the buffalo cauliflower! It was a great low carb option. The macaroni and broccoli was delicious too.
The food was outstanding...! So much I’m craving it now as I write this!
Came here to meet a few friends. Smallish place with a nice atmosphere. Only had one or two drinks before we went to the next place so can’t comment on food here.

So I thought these were bar snack teeny bites. They were not. I loved the chicken wings and the fish tacos and mozzarella sticks. Bonus points for being able to watch the basketball. Good portion sizes and well seasoned fries and just overall a great experience. Staff were really lovely. Would definitely return!

We went here for steak night on Thursday, I wasn’t expecting much considering it was $25 for steak, chips, sauce and a beer...but wow!!! One of the best steaks I’ve ever had, great service and overall experience was 10 out of 10!! We’ve definitely found our new Thursday spot!! Can’t recommend highly enough!!!
Came here late on a weeknight after a couple of previous attempts (couldn't get in due to private functions). Really dig the idea of a pool table nearby (I've rarely been able to find this in Melbourne besides pubs). Food quality was pretty good, definitely hits the spot. Seems like a great place to hang out for a big feed and a drink with friends
The red velvet chocolate cake is rich and delicious. Great combination of flavours and thickened cream served on the side to pair with the richness of the chocolate cookie the cheesecake sits on.
The traditional cherry pie is nice. It’s cooked nicely however I’d say soda rock cafe does a better cherry pie.
Desserts and meals at silverlake social are reasonably priced. It’s good quality for money in my opinion.
I wouldn’t say it’s amazing but it meets expectations.
Went there yesterday, ordered chicken wings there as well as kale Caesar salad. The salad was really fresh the drizzle on the top was so nice. N the chicken wings was well flavoured n crispy

The Silverlake is my chosen local. My friends and I come here every Thursday (despite there being dozens of other bars nearby) because it has the friendliest vibe on all of Chapel St. They've got some great beers on tap and a bunch of interesting cocktails and boilermakers if you're feeling like something different, plus mulled wine during winter. From the menu I've had the burger, the kale Caesar, and sweet potato chips. All of which are really tasty. My boyfriend swears by the buffalo wings and my friends absolutely love the veggie burrito. The music is always on point and the atmosphere is always the perfect mix of chilled out yet lively. Thanks for always looking after us, Silverlake 🤗
Yawn. Got to say, there's nothing to see here, people. The concept and decor played out, unoriginal, food and drinks nothing to tell your friends about. Are you trying to be something you'll never be? Yes... Not that cool here, though they'd like you to think so. By this I mean no offence... I give the 3.5 cos it's unoriginal but satisfactory. Take it how you will, if you are sensitive to design like me, you'll find this place grating
Silverlake Social is a Chapel Street bar from the people behind nearby White Oaks Saloon and swaps the Southern-style saloon theme for a Southern Californian one. It’s named after the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Silver Lake, which is an area full of trendy restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.
Surprisingly good steaks, $20 and perfectly cooked as requested. Excellent, friendly service and a great selection of US craft beers, highly recommended!
Dropped in for something to eat and a couple of beers during the week. Good variety of drinks and food on the menu!
All the food we ordered was good, rated the devils on horseback! But wouldn't be able to eat a side of them by myself - they're pretty sweet after a few!
Service was pretty good, there was only one front of house person there but then they weren't busy at all.
The only negative would be that it lacked atmosphere because there was hardly anyone in there but I'm sure that was because it's fairly new and we did come in during the week. Would recommend.

Awesome little new little bar on Chapel Street. Great selection of beers for everyone, some of the more expensive craft beers for the beer aficionados and a few lager's for those looking for a quick after work beer. The burgers we had were really good, nice and juicy and a decent amount of cheese! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Lovely staff who are happy to talk about their product and are quite attentive. Really did feel like an American bar, also nice to have the cushion running along the bar to lean on and one of the few places that has installed hooks along the bar to hang your bag.
Heard about this place from a couple of American friends who said it was as authentic an American bar they have found outside the United States - boy were they right! American sports, beer, food, music.
It was great to see beer from Stone, Deschutes and Sierra Nevada on tap (hard find in Melbourne!). Plus a large array in the can and bottle! Best American beer list in Melbourne!!
The Buffalo Wings are also to die for - so good!! Will be back again soon!
Named after a neighbourhood in Los Angeles, Silverlake Social offers a menu that celebrates the all-American taphouse with Yankie-inspired craft beers, cocktails and comfort food. Owners Byron Barrowclough and brothers Thomas and Nicholas Welch (who also own The White Oaks Saloon) have a real love for American style food and this is clearly reflected at Silverlake Social. The menu boasts items such Silverlake Dog, Buffalo chicken wings and Apple Bourbon pulled pork mini.
Silverlake Social is a place that is worthy of taking the space of the previous tenant Ging. A wide selection of drinks and food on offer. On the mark bar staff prepared to adjust a cocktail for sweetness to suit you. Looking forward to trying out the food next time.

As someone who has spent a LOT of time in American sports bars, there's nothing like being able to prop yourself up on leather elbow pads at the bar, hurl abuse at ESPN on a big screen and indulge in good buffalo wings with the perfect ranch sauce. Silverlake offers all this with the added bonus of an amazing selection of local and imported craft beers and the menu to back it up. My favourite Portland beer - Deschutes' Fresh Squeezed IPA is on the menu, almost impossible to find this side of the river.
A personalised pool table to greet you at the entrance and bespoke neons under a dim red lighting makes you feel automatically at home. But foodie note* this lighting can suck a doz when it comes to taking food pics. Who cares though because good beer and wings make up for everything. Perhaps it's just me but I'm immediately comfortable at any place serving hot dogs in a basket where I can talk to the bartender and the lighting doesn't effect my 14-hours-later makeup.
With all the favourites you'd expect on the menu, we of course went with the buffalo wings and Silverlake dog; smoked chorizo with house made relish and special sauce. I admit to giving up on the bun half way through, the chorizo though - sensational. The buffalo wings were the perfect level of messy and spicy, and I'm a picky wing eater. Devils on Horseback!! If you've never had these, it's an absolute must: Gorgonzola-filled dates wrapped in bacon... GORGONZOLA... BACON. I can't stress enough how important it is that you eat these. Mozzarella sticks and to seem somewhat healthy, a good Caesar salad with kale topped off what was a an awesome throw back to some of my favourite American bars. Not that Silverlake is just for the cap wearers and NFL fans; the service is as good as any restaurant in Melbourne and the staff are probably some of the nicest dudes ever, who happen to know their booze.

Looking for an American food in Melbourne? This place may fulfill the crave. Sits in a prime location at Prahran area, I find it was easy to spot on. This restaurant provides indoor and outdoor seating area, and yes they have one pool table to play.
I ordered one of the popular dishes which was buttermilk chicken burger with free add on fries, and a Kentucky fried chicken with BBQ sauce as starter. As usual, during these days, online reservation through barcode is applied. However, drinks can be ordered directly at the bar. Overall, I enjoyed to dine in here.

10/10 would watch sports there again, the new local! great group of lads beers are decently priced food is fantastic. cant say enough good things about this place.
