Every dish I’ve tried so far has been amazing, it’s hard to pick a favourite! 😋I usually get it’s matcha latte too (I prefer kyo tea house matcha latte better though) - this is probably the best work lunch you could get in the area if you love Jap cuisine 🤩 If you want a filling lunch, I’d say go for the curry udon or beef steak don - you won’t be disappointed. I had doubts about cheese hamburger curry udon initially due to its unique combination but it was surprisingly good! Pork maze udon is a good refreshing option if you don’t want something too heavy. Price is fair for what you get, and friendly staff - the only downside is how busy it can get during lunch hour.

A cute little Japanese cafe. Staff was friendly and polite. I had their orange matcha thinking to try something new with no high expectation but I turned out the scent of orange really enhanced the matcha taste to a next level. Their chicken karage was nicely fried. The rice bowl only came with rice, salad and the katsu so I topped it with an egg and you should try it too. My friend had their steak don and it was nice too but the portion may not be enough for a guy without an extra bowl of rice. Overall, I will definitely come back to this cafe to try their other menu especially their special latte.

We finally got to try this place out after been meaning to come here ages ago. On the humble end of marvel stadium is Ilza, modern japanese fusion.
We opted for the steak don which was grilled well to medium rare with an onsen egg on a small bed of rice and seasoning sauce accompanied by some salad and sweet potatoes. Really tasty! But a little more rice would be nice.
Their barista pumped out consistently eye catching drinks. Orange latte which is matcha with milk, topped with seared cocktail like slice of orange. My foodie friend in crime had the peanut butter latte with almond milk. We were both impressed by the frothy layer and presentation.
Well done guys. Next time we're gonna share halves on the karage or katsu sandwich. Tip of advice is to come early as I believe they don't take reservations.
Ilza is my kind of cafe although the hike is so far from work. On the other side of marvel stadium (gate 6), Ilza is cute, quaint and delicious.

Fresh salmon steak don - I can see why others have been getting this dish. The fresh salmon don had an awesome layer of crumbling and the juicy golden onsen egg made me weep. Rice also had flavoring, making this a very savoury memorable meal.
Timing was good and quantity was glorious. I left feeling like a beluga whale!!
Been here many times and never disappoints. The karaage chicken is the best! I love the idea of a mystery drink. The one i got was the orange matcha late.
Located gate 6 marvel stadium , u need find your effort to look for it , lastly we found the cafe , firstly the customer service is great and very friendly , and the dining atmosphere is great , secondly the food very yummy . And very presentable way , thumbs up , lastly the price reasonable # will come visits again . Cheers
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD is this small café. The food and ambiance is amazing along with cheap prices.

We had orange latte, beef steak don, dried udon with mince pork (? cant remember its name sorry) , and their daily nigiri in chicken flavour. They all were so good till the last bite. The nigiri was kinda grilled to semi-crispy in the outer and inside was sort of pickled thingy that created a little pleasantly sour which balanced the food, made it less greasy. I think I can eat 2, 3 because it was so good.
Definitely will come back to try more dishes.

Although the meal doesn’t taste authentically Japanese, I really liked everything about here.
The seasoning of each don was spot on, and I really loved the smell of charcoal grill. I can say they hang up on the details.
Sophistication in both smell and taste made their serving sensational.
As a Tokyo gal myself, atmosphere and interior made me feel like I was taken to Daikanyama.❤️
Love that cozy artistic looking café.
Only thing I felt māmā was their latte, taste less of coffee.🤔
Anyway, definitely will visit again soon.

This place is hidden behind one of the buildings at the marvel stadium stop. But anyhow, really cosy and homey which I love. The staffs were lovely and food came out after a reasonable amount of time.
The salmon don was delish. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was a generous size. It was well seasoned with a bit of a spice, which they didn't inform me beforehand (japanese chili powder). Rice was perfectly cooked, and the size of the portion was just perfect for me. There were some salad on the side to balance the dish with some tempura bits on top.
Tofu udon salad was also so good. It was refreshing with a bit of a yuzu flavour to it. The components were fresh and works really well together. It wasn't tofu but sliced beancurd just fyi. The noodle was so chewy and had such good texture, very impressed
They also both came with glazed sweet potatoes on the side which was lovely.
Overall, really impressed with this place and would definitely recommend people to check it out! ;)

This is the type of restaurant Docklands residents have needed for years. Exceptional food, great atmosphere and outstanding service. I attend everyday during school holidays and sometimes I want to call in sick so I can eat ! My favourite dish is the Salmon Don. Highly recommend!
Ilza is a slightly hidden cafe with a cozy atmosphere that would be the perfect go to place on any day. Friendly and prompt service coupled with chill tunes, what's not to love about it! The food presentation was not only on point, it tasted delicious too. The beef steak don was probably my favourite among all the dishes I tried, not surprising at all with the winning combo of char + addictive sauce on the beef. Definitely coming back again and again.
So happy that Ilza has opened and it is now one of my favourite lunch spots in the Docklands area. It is located on the La Trobe side of Marvel Stadium - if coming from Southern Cross just keep walking around past Thor’s Hammer and you’ll see a little doghouse sign on the right hand side.
They serve a compact menu of authentic Japanese dishes with a page of snacks like katsu sando (pork or chicken), hotdog on a stick and cheese, rice dons and udons. So far I’ve had or tried the:

I love how fresh, flavoursome and authentic the flavours are and the presentation is so cute with the massive bowls they’re served in. Will definitely be returning to make my way through their menu!
Quality Korean/Japanese style. The limited menu means every thing is fresh and tasty. I'll be back for sure. Great food, cute venue, highly recommend.
Awesome place for lunch. Had the pork udon which looked to be in small in portion but very filling actually and nice flavors. The onigiri was also very nice on the side. Will definitely be back again to try other menu items!
Amazing, super tasty bowls of delicious goodness!! I absolutely love this place (so much, in fact that we went 3 times this week)! Twice for food and once for a Matcha Latte.
So far, we've had the Beef Steak Don, Chicken Karaage Don and Beef Menchi Katsu Don. Beef steak is amazingly tender, Karaage is super crunchy and the Menchi Katsu is just a delicious ball of yum!! The sauces on the chicken/beef and rice is so full of flavour and the salad is nice and fresh.
Matcha latte is nice and matcha-y. I had the hot one, but you can also get it iced!
The service is exceptional. The people there are so lovely! I cannot wait until I eat there again!
The food quantity is good. The beef and chicken are cooked just right. The restaurant is nice to offer two of their desserts, sesame and matcha favoured desserts for our group of 8 people to share. I felt if they could have changed their white canvas curtain to some Japanese printed fabric designs will be great. That will make our group photo looks great. So far it looks a little plain for that background. The restaurant is difficult to find in my opinion. Directional signs around that stadium will be helpful.
A little pricy, but surprisingly filling. We ordered dishes to share and they were awesome. Fast service, homey decor and nice people. Desserts were a little too sweet for my tastes, however.
The toilet was a little difficult to access, but otherwise very worth it.
The best food I've had in Melbourne thus far. Highly recommend the strawberry matcha latte: it was life-changing. The mazeudon was impeccable, as was the katsu sando and baos. My friends really loved the matcha panna cotta too! I wish I could live in that restaurant, it was just that good :") <3

Loved this place! The food is absolutely delicious! Had the grilled teriyaki chicken don, the chicken itself was slighty crispy, melt in your mouth with the sauce being just the perfect match. The rice and the salad were the perfect combo. I would say the dish was the perfect size for me, though if you are usually a big eater, this may leave you just satisfied but not overly full. Would definitely recommend for lunch!
Would give more stars if possible. Fast service, fantastic + comforting food and a great atmosphere to top it all off. The strawberry matcha latte was perfect in terms of flavour and sweetness. The strawberry puree made it taste extremely fresh, and the crumbled freeze dried strawberry on top created a very pleasant aroma from the first sip alone. The fried tofu skin curry udon was unbelievably satisfying.
The texture of the sweet tofu, the perfectly chewy udon and the incredibly comforting curry made for an amazing and filling meal. Will definitely be coming here again! I can't believe it took me so long to dine here.
Classic dishes executed nicely. Worth popping in if you're in the area. Location can be a bit difficult to find, so here are some directions: enter through 673 La Trobe street, head straight and exit down the steps (you'll see gate 6), turn right and it'll be on your right.
Arrived on a rainy day and we were the first sit-in customers. The drinks blew our mind. The orange matcha 🍵 was refreshing, sweet, with subtle tangy notes of tangerine, a little overpowers the matcha notes - but still, flavoursome!
The cheese hamburger curry udon was hearty. The beef cutlet was so juicy and tender, the meat juice was oozing when I cut it into half. The onsen egg definitely enhances the mouthful flavour and smoothness to the curry.

Delicious food served in a cozy little cafe. Highly recommend the maze udon or the cheese hamburger curry udon. I’d also recommend the matcha strawberry latte. Although the orange latte is unique, the orange flavour wasn’t noticeable and tasted mostly like a regular latte.
It’s tucked away in a corner outside Marvel Stadium and can be a little hard to find. Signage outside isn’t great.
