Staff, Amee and Jennifer r wonderful. food was good until the fried ice cream arrived. Chef; if u don't know how to do something, don't put on the menu.

Went there for a group lunch. Half was good and the other half was bad. We wanted a refund on the poor salad but they were big on refunds so had to order an alternative meal. The salad had dry chicken, the corn was canned corn and the lettuce didn't look properly cleaned, just a very poor salad for how much it was. The wait was quite long for the food even though it was very quiet. My burger wasn't very nice either.

We dined here as a small group of 3 on the 5.10.2019. We first ordered some entree dishes and they came out fairly quickly and were very nice however a little expensive for what you get. We then ordered our main meals and one and a half hours later and still no meals. After complaining two times our meals finally came out. This was a terrible dining experience and would not even consider coming here again.

Food was great, but the service needs to improve. 1st they half our table's deserts we not sereved and whenwe as we we told they forgot to serve it. The 2nd the staff kept on taking away our drinking glasse even though we had jugs full of drinks, they were doing it all the time we where there. The staff also needs to smile more ask ( "are you finished with your glasse" etc not just take them ) .

Parma night at the bistro, spicy Spanish parma was really good, and they are supporting the farmers affected by the drought with every parma purchased in August.

Shriveled up T-bone steak served cold and raw on one side. Expect better for the price.

The best, cheapest (if you're a member which is free to join) and delicious buffet breakfast for 50km.

Home Straight Bistro is part of what is like a "Superpub / mini Crown". The venue is huge, along with the sports bar and gaming room, and looks out onto the trotting track with the hotel adjacent. Went on a Friday night with a group from work, and whilst watching the races live while having dinner was pretty cool, some of the punters watching you have dinner was not as good. Had the Ribeye with chips and mushroom sauce. The steak was good quality, and cooked perfectly medium, juicy with a nice char. Mushroom sauce was fantastic, a rich gravy with plenty of mushroom, but the chips were disappointing. At least twice cooked, they were overdone, and to be honest i'm not a fan of skin on (a la wedges) when i'm ordering chips. Cheesy garlic bread starters were delicious, the service from all staff encountered was excellent. Prices were good for the size and quality of the meals, and the ability to cater for large groups as well as small, makes Home Straight a good local option. Quality of the steak just edged the score up to 3.5.

Had lunch today and it was really great, even had some horse trials on so that was a bonus. We had the curry and pie, plus dessert of waffles and banana pudding and it was hot, tasty and delicious. Staff were really nice.

I've come for dinner many times and although the service is average the food wasn't bad. I though won't be coming back. Nearly 20 of us went for dinner. We waited between an hour and an hour and a half for meals. The entrée came at the same time as the main. The food was over cooked. When we asked questions we were told they were too busy. We had to ask for the kids ice cream 4 times before it arrived.

The food was quite nice, Ambiance terrible, service met the most basic needs. The steak was lovely, rare and with that pleasant charcoal grill flavour. I was somehow expecting warm chicken with the Mexican salad but it was at cool room temp. All dishes were well presented. The dinning room reminded me of an upmarket IKEA cafeteria, the service was slow from the kitchen ( We went towards the end of service 1pm ) We ordered a side of Chips and got Veg instead, they quickly supplied the chips. The floor staff were always busy and quick to serve when food was to be delivered. Otherwise no staff interaction. Just a glorified cafeteria with ok food.

Ordered the rib eye medium rare, it came out quite quickly but unfortunately the steak was a little over cooked for my preference, regardless it was still delicious and the red wine jus was a great accompaniment.

After much hesitation and considerable convincing I went there for dinner with my partner this evening. Can I just say, how pleasantly surprised we both were. The food was awesome and definitely not what we were expecting considering previous reviews and the fact that it's a Bistro. We were also very pleased with the attentiveness by the staff and their help with answering questions regarding my dietary requirements. We will be returning.

Thurs night deal. We visited this venue for the first time tonight (Thursday). They have a great deal for members for half price meals, I wish I had known sooner as our bill was quite expensive by then end of the night for 4 adults. Tonight I ordered the veal scolappinni with veggies and mash. The sauce was delicious, the serving of the mash was very generous as was the sauce and great to mop it all up with, could have added a few more pieces of steamed veg and they were nicely cooked. The veal was a let down, it was too tough and not well tenderised also found little grissly bits that got stuck in my teeth and it was hard to chew. The pieces of veal were piled onto one another (that is fine) if it was soft but trying to cut into it when it's tough and you have saucy marshy items on the plate is a challenge, I had to do some food manoeuvring on my plate. I think the prices on the standard meals are too high and not worth it but if you do go on the half price night and get the deal then I believe it to be good value. We also ordered entree calamari some pieces were rubbery and some pieces soft and the rocket on the plate had little black spots on it so I don't think it was at its freshest. Our waitress was nice and I liked that they had a play room for kiddies with a nice glass window allowing supervision yet blocking out too much noisy ness from any noisy kids.

Mind on buffet and ignored lunch customers. My family had a meal here at lunch-time about three weeks ago. It was sadly woeful. I think staff were pre-occupied with setting up the evening's buffet and really made us feel like a distraction for coming to lunch. our son ordered bangers and mash which was not right....we would have done better buying a $2 meal outside Bunnings. My vegetarian noodles were very amateurish too. We used to come regularly and became members. We suggest the Bistro close for lunch when staff are pre-occupied with setting up the evening Buffet.

Best Service. As regular diners at Tabcorp Park, especially on race night, the way to go is the ribeye, cooked to perfection every time and melt in the mouth tender. With a new chef on board, the specials menu is also very tempting. Looking forward to Friday 6 June with a special dessert on the menu. From entering the venue everyone one is friendly and the service from the staff on the floor, Tom and others and behind the bar, Heather, makes your experience fantastic and makes you feel very special. We look forward to every Friday night. Thanks Tabcorp Park !

Gluten free friendly but no gluten free dessert available. Took a great effort for me to order a coffee at the bar. When I got to the front of the line the guy ignored me and served the lady behind me. When I paid for my coffee, the lady took my money and walked off without giving me my change. I had to ask another staff member to give me my change. It wasn't even a great coffee. Fail.

I had the barramundi for dinner. It was okay but the portion wasn't very big considering the price.

The kids lasagne came with about 5 chips. Again portion size was small, even for a kids meal.

Not a fan.

First time diner. Wow what an experience, we ordered our dinner at a 7pm and about 40 minutes later it arrived We never received our garlic bread that we ordered so I thought that I would just use that money as credit to get some deserts, after 30 minutes of waiting for that we decided it was time to go so we asked for a refund. The staff were hopeless and the waitress just kept saying it was such a busy lunch time. There was maybe 10 tables of people there, so it wasn't busy and I can't say if the fault was with the girl that takes the order or the kitchen. While we were there 2 other tables asked for refunds. It was a joke, never again. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Should of dined locally in Bacchus Marsh.
Nearly 2 hours for 1 course meal !!!!

Great experience!. My partner & I eat here regularly - and would definitely recommend it for an inexpensive night out at a venue that is kid friendly.
The staff are always welcoming & attentive and we cannot fault the service received.
The menu is down to earth and good value for money.

Worst meal I had in my life.... I can't believe qualified chefs can't get a simple Parma and fish and chips right... My Parma was raw and didn't even get to eat a quatar of it. My wife's fish and chips was soggy and tasteless which she also left most of her meal... For the prices that we paid it is not worth it at all and would never go back even if it was for free... Mc Donald's serves better meals!!!

Been to Tabcorp bistro a few time and even after they had a new menu. All I can say was that for the over priced meals I did not receive what I paid for. Our table received uncooked parmas, over cooked steak and the meals in general were not up to standards for the price you are paying.
Staff were friendly and on the ball.
Overall would not go back again even if for a free meal.

If they wish to get regular customers they need to seriously pick up on the quality of food.
