Review Lee Palace - Melville

Best Asian food I've ever had! Thomas is a lovely man, prides himself on serving us the best quality meals.

It has been reasonable mostly. Last visit the food was too salty. For Chinese food you are better off going somewhere like Joy Kitchen for a nice dinner. If you just want a $6 lunch then yes this place isnโ€™t bad

Looks shabby from outside but food was excellent quick and great service we will go back when in Bicton

Just tried to order takeaway from here and was served by an *extremely* rude lady. I tried to order roast duck she told me they don't have roast duck (it's literally on the menu?) and then when I tried to combine rice and chicken, she said they can't do that and then said "I'm have something to do, can you just make up your mind?!". The menu literally states "please request any dishes not on the menu"... Instead of being rude, maybe just suggest something that you DO actually have. I thought I was doing a small business a favour and helping during these hard times by ordering from them but this was absolutely appalling, awful customer service, I could never imagine saying this to a customer. You've lost my business and I won't be returning.

Unexpectedly good quality food, need some work on the faded interior. Love the Japanese tofu and black vinegar pork.

Amazing food! Amazing value! The place doesn't look like much, but food was excellent. $6 lunch special laksa was outstanding. Highly recommended

The food are quite good & authentic but the portions are on smaller side. Quiet a few dishes that we ordered are not available. The pork intestine dish came out totally burnt so we sent it back. We were only told half way through eating that there is minimum charge. Didnโ€™t see it written anywhere or mentioned when we booked. Probably due to CNY. The air con wasnโ€™t running too good either as itโ€™s quite hot inside.

I have been coming here for years and IMO its the best Chinese around in this area, The Satay Beef is excellent and the Honey King Prawn is always generous and very tasty. The service is always prompt. There really isn't much to complain about this place. Its no frills just good Chinese food.

The place was quite busy for a weekday. Ordered takeaway and specifically asked what was in the fried rice dish as we did not want seafood. Shouldโ€™ve checked when we picked it up, but got home to find the rice had seafood. Had to take it back and they replaced it for us without a fuss. Food wasnโ€™t that great overall, ordered chicken fried rice, sambal chicken and beef with xo chilli. The beef had too much of soy sauce and the sambal chicken was just okay not really tasty.

After years back , I tried again today for a lunch on Singapore Mee Hung. Request a cut chili and they would like to charge me. Too much curry powder added, can't pick up veggie except onions , not caring for a slight decoration touch up, not same to my tasting out at others for 28 years. A week earlier at Warton Road, Huntingdale, a $7.00 lunch special would make me give a 4ใ€‚Will not go back again.

We had the set menu that was advertised on special for $22ph, 6th person free. The lemon chicken was great, the fried rice was good, the sweet and sour chicken was okay, the satay beef was not good. They didn't have green tea, which was an unwelcome surprise. The service was good, although that might have been because there weren't many people there. It was good value for the price.

First time here - we decided to give the Chinese New Year Banquet a go - meal was nice but nothing special, had better elsewhere - everyone agreed overpriced at $50 ph. Suggest better value just ordering from regular menu.

I've been going to the Lee Palace for years and it's still the best Asian takeaway around. Have always found the service prompt and the staff are always helpful. I'm a vegan, so a bit fussy about food. Have never been disappointed by my experience of this venue. My partner eats anything and always enjoys a meal from the Lee Palace.
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Authentic, cosy Chinese restaurant in Melville. The space is a little outdated but the delicious eats make up for it! Ordered one of four banquets for a party of six and oh my - so much food. Started out with the prawn toast and sweet corn soup. The prawn toast was sweet, full of texture and served with a really lovely dipping sauce. It was great. The soup was thick and wholesome, lots of fresh chicken and corn. Another lovely dish. Then onto the mains. My favourites were the King Pawns served in a rich garlic sauce, crisp Honey Chicken with a sweet, sizzling sauce, Lemon Chicken that was melt in your mouth soft and so zesty and the Seafood Hot Pot with delicate fish, beautifully cooked squid and fat juicy king prawns. Service was great and very good prices. I'll be back!

Disappointed chinese restaurant. Unfriendly staff and Pricy. <br/>Hot and sour soup - not many ingredients and too much starch. <br/>Peking Spare ribs - too much vinegar and too tangy. <br/>Sweet and sour seafood - Looks good, tastes horrible. <br/>Special fried rice - special "disgusting"<br/>But the parking is great, lots of room.

Takeaway pricing seems a bit high

Service could be better. The seats had stains on them. The food was above average, didn't use much MSG which was a positive compared to other Chinese restaurants

Dropping standards. Lee Palace is my favourite Chinese restaurant in the area but recently the food standard has declined! <br/>I have just bought Honey Chicken and Fried Rice - there is lots of honey and coating but little chicken which is unusual for lee palace and as for the fried rice its more like steamed rice with prawns in it.<br/>Last week: my chow mein was completely missing noodles.<br/>Please sort it out Lee Palace

Very Dirty. Went for lunch at recommendation from friend. Was told by staff that all meals contain MSG and they could not do any dishes without MSG.The hygiene was atrocious. Filthy chairs with food on them. Food remnants littered the floor which i can only s<br/>urmise was left there for any rodents to dine on after hours. Mould on roof around exhaust fans and the final insult was the waiter/Cooks apron. it was tattered and looked like it had portions of most of the meals on it (including the first meal ever served there). If he had of dropped the apron in a large container of hot water, it would have made enough clear soup to feed half of Perth. The other option would have been dropping the apron off to a research centre for the study of bacteria and unknown diseases. Absolutely disgusting.

Great value Great food. Amazing value and quality. Perth is a very expensive place to do business. At lee Palace you can have a great lunch for under $10 .Full size meals good menu selection. Friendly staff. Hard to find better value anywhere in Perth. Fussy eater.

HO Hum. This place is much the same as so many others. Despite booking no table available even arriving 15 mins late. Given a table jammed in corner normally reserved for the take away patrons. Food was average. I won't bother again.

Don't recommend. It wasn't the worst food, but not great ether. Meat they serve is maybe packed with some softening stuff which makes it completely loose normal meat texture. When i had laksa there, it was even hard to identify which sort of meat is in it.. Staff is nice.

Went for lunch, unpleasant experience, very dirty and uncleen place to eat, airconditioning not turned on, front door left open, no fly screen.
Chris
Utterly useless, food is terrible and I suspect microwaved. Chicken tasted suspiciously of rotten fish, didn't dare eat all of it.
Rhys
For $84 (that included corkage for 2), you cannot have asked for a better meal. Covered two entres, 3 mains, rice and bottles water.<br/>Great food. Excellent service and the owner came out to invite us back for Chinese New Year festivities. <br/>Can't go wrong!

Honey Chicken. Awesome! Always very fresh and delicious = )<br/><br/><br/>-----12 Dec, 2013-----<br/><br/>Great!. I don't know what the people below expect from a RESTAURANT but this place has unbelievable food, great prices and fantastic fast service. <br/>It's not fancy or ritzy but it doesn't need to be, the food is marvelous. so the table cloths weren't to your liking, get a life! its a restaurant it doesn't have to match the undies you put on that morning sheesh!

Dinner after ten pin bowling. Food outstanding , we ordered 10 dishes with fried rice and steamed rice, all dishes were delicious served promptly and in a friendly manner, we were the last to leave and highly recommend this for an inexpensive great meal, good tucker- we will return!

Food didn't have much taste. Restaurant was dirty and there were dirty dishes in the open as we walked in and were still there after we ate. Not sure why I still ate there after seeing and smelling that :(
Timmy
Food is ok but nothing special. Prices same. Service is rubbish. Won't be going back.

Bad Customer Service - UNPLEASANT visit. We had lunch for 15 people. They squeezed all of us onto a 10-person round table, instead of giving us to tables.<br/><br/>Our table was setup next to the front windows. The afternoon sun gave our back facing guests bad sun-burns. And guests facing the windows have to wear sunglasses to keep from the glares.<br/><br/>The aircon was not functioning. Have asked waiter to do something but nothing was done and not even a suggestion to move us to different table.<br/><br/>Dishes serving order was all a mess. We were served fried rice as the first dish after our Entree, then waited 20mins for other dishes to come. Totally wrong. By the time third dish was served, we had finished with all the rice and had to eat dishes without rice or to order extra rice separately.<br/><br/>Waiter/waitress look like under-age kids with no customer service experience.<br/><br/>Food wise was slightly below average and our 15-dishes meal has lots of leftovers (6 takeaway container).<br/><br/>The worst Chinese restaurant even visited in WA. NEVER TO GO AGAIN!!

Gone Downhill - Disgusting Service, Food and Decor. My family used to dine here all the time. It was known in the Asian community as a great place to go. It used to have top notch service, excellent food, and a great atmosphere. My cousin even worked there for a stint.<br/><br/>It is no longer the restaurant it used to be. We weren't even allowed to order off the "real" menu because the waitress told us it would not cook in time and to just forget it! Seriously. Well, I tell you what, the $4.99 menu is such a joke - my mum had tom yum soup, and it turned out to be the equivalent of cup noodles. They put in one prawn, four thin slices of fish cake and two bits of kai lan. And the rice dishes? Tasteless meat. They also charge $2 per cup of Chinese tea. <br/><br/>The tabletops now have orange and black plastic so they don't have to do any laundry of the linen underneath. Also, when we tried to get up to pay, they had shoved a big trolley full of dirty dishes (soaking in disgusting water) in the thoroughfare. What the hell? <br/><br/>Sure, you may think this is a cheap meal, but this restaurant used to be of respectable quality, not some cheapo place to save a quick buck. The Financial Crisis isn't that bad. Walk down the block and order Hungry Jacks instead. That way you'll actually get fed, taste some flavour, and not bump into their clean-up station. Or better yet, cross the road and buy some 2 minute noodles from Coles. It'll be the best decision you'll ever make.

Lee's have a great lunch special, the servings are a good size and the food is very tasty. Consistency seems to be something they can work on but in general the food is great. Luksa is a full Luksa complete with prawn heads left on (in my view - how it should be) but not always the case.... That said for $4.99 it's really hard to go wrong (lunch time special price) The Decor is a little dated, staff are always welcoming and happy to serve - this is a good place to try , I will return.
Jess
Really good. With the cost of eating out in Perth skyrocketing, their everyday lunch time deals are definitely worth a try - the $5 laksa is highly recommended! Dinner is fantastic, really authentic Chinese - with regular Asian customers you can't go wrong!

It is a good honest Chinese restaurant go there all the time. I like the live tanks for the barramundi very nice.

Good prices, service & food.. These guys are great and reasonably priced. They used to be my local, and after moving I decided to try them again as a cheaper alternative to my neighbourhood Chinese take away. I was very happy with the whole process and several of their dishes were better than my regular places. Try the Satay Beef and the Mongolian Lamb!

Tofu cubes with Chicken mince <br/> This was yummy, or maybe I'm just biased because I like tofu. I like tofu a lot, but not enough to convert me into a vegetarian so I can eat tofu everyday. Tofu is like the grown up version of jelly, but not as exciting cause it doesn't have the flavours or colours that jelly is loved for. But tofu does has the wibble-wobble quality and fragility of jelly that I love, and is probably the same reason why I love tofu too.<br/>
