My husband and I went to doot doot doot to celebrate our first year anniversary and it was an amazing experience ! The food was surprising and exquisite all the way through the five course menu. We chose to get the wine pairing and we seriously think that if you want to get the all experience you have to go with it !! The food took a different dimension ! The service was impeccable and the staff really friendly ...A real treat ! The bar proposes great cocktails in a really cosy and sophisticated ambiance ...We will come back and recommend to all our friends :)
The food on Saturday night was absolutely amazing and the service fantastic! It was great how each course was explained and loved every bit of it Breakfast was excellent and was very impressed with the service provided by TataniaI requested a caramel latte to which she replied that they don't do flavoured lattes so she made a special request to the chef and he made up some caramel sauce for me. The following morning I came in for breakfast and she had already organised some caramel for my latte! Thank you for your amazing service and the hot chocolate bounty Will definately be returning to Doot Doot Doot!
Always amazing. Our favourite place to dine on the Peninsula. You never disappoint. Thank you for making my mothers birthday dinner so special again this year. See you again soon.
We had an amazing experience last night at Doot Doot Doot. The food, wine pairings and service was excellent. The staff were well informed about the produce and wines!
I can't wait to dine again and experience next months menu
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary there tonight doing the 9 course degustation menu
5/5 to the staff... the food and the ambience!
One of the best restaurants we have been to
We took to friends to dinner at Doot Doot Doot last night and it was excellent. Each course surprised and delighted us. We were very impressed by the whole experience. Thank you to chef and staff.
So amazing!!! Brilliant food, great atmosphere and attentive service!!
Beautiful food, beautiful wines, impeccable service. Fine dining worthy of the title.
Excellent service and food. Could not fault it 👌
Again another beautiful experience with such gorgeous and friendly staff - well done!
Amazing food, fantastic staff, awesome experience!
Fantastic place and very pleasant stuff!
Amazing and a Wonderful addition for our Mornington Peninsula Tourism
What a lovely experience! I would recommend any foodie who enjoys full or adhoc wine pairing this wonderful degustation menu.
Attentive staff, big tables and comfortable chairs. We were greeted warmly (even though the air conditioning was very cold in there) to our seats.
Detail menu with the option to order suggested pairing (instead of the full pairing) is also a fantastic option not too many others allow. I had a cocktail to start and then chose one of the pairings with my main. Can’t fault it!
We ordered extra oysters which were a little tiny but then I suppose it depends on where it’s sourced on the day. All the ingredients used were fresh and suited for summer. There were quite a lot of mint being used in our menu but I enjoyed it thoroughly. A special mention is worth for their potato bread. We love the texture so much we had two serves of it.
They also cater for our food allergies / restrictions beautifully. I would love to come and try their menu again when the season change.
The open kitchen is a little far from us so we could see the bustling but it wasn’t as close as we could see our dishes got done.
Very enjoyable experience - recommends all occasions including celebrations, dates and also family outing. it is degustation so please be mindful you can’t choose your dishes but what was served was absolutely fascinating.
A lovely afternoon at Jackalope enjoying a delightful degustation at Doot Doot Doot, absolutely delicious. Décor quirky and inviting, unfortunately single chairs are not made for curvy bottoms.
Definitely on the favourite list.
DOOT DOOT DOOT - had the pleasure of dining at this one hatted restaurant (twice). Service, atmosphere and food was absolutely amazing (it was hard to pick a favourite dish!) I’m in awe of the feature ceiling. Great experience, highly recommended, 5 stars from me. Can’t wait to go again

Dining here and having the degustation menu with matching wines is seriously next level.Amazing service, wine knowledge, food and decor. Couldn’t fault the place. Thank you for all the added special treats on our wedding anniversary.
This restaurant is beautiful! The 5 course degustation was to die for, we also added some oysters and the cheese plate to that. I can’t even describe each meal there were a lot of flavours and ingredients I hadn’t had before. The hotel looks stunning I will stay there one day. I can’t fault it. I can’t wait to go back.
I was lucky enough to visit this famous restaurant! Not often I get to have such fine dining food, but was it was amazing! We were served a degustation of amazing fresh cuisine, and I got to try caviar for the first time! Would recommend if you have the $$$ to visit, but it’s pricey!

It’s a hit and miss menu with some dishes elevated by the wine pairing...was playing with a 3 or a 4 because food was 3ish but we had excellent customer service especially Rob the entertaining sommelier who got us on to Harry’s mussels at flinders pier! Romantic ambience and beautiful ceiling but tables along the couch are close together and unfortunately we were seated next to loud, foul mouthed guests arguing at the table and yelling which interrupted most of our evening. Dessert was an absolute stand out - well balanced. Prawns and carrots was also a deliciously surprising pairing.
Superb all the way. Amazing service, knowledgeable staff, exceptional food. Excited to go again with a new menu every 5 weeks. Well worth the drive
Thanks to young hotelier Louis Li, owner and creative force behind Jackalope, Willow Creek Vineyard reopened in 2017, following a major makeover. It now boasts a luxury hotel known as Jackalope, a mythical animal depicted as a hare or rabbit with horns. Doot Doot Doot (the leader of a flaggerdoot, the collective noun for a group of jackalopes) is a fine dining restaurant, Flaggerdoot is the hotel’s bar, and Rare Hare is casual dining overlooking an 11-hectare vineyard. Zomato Rating 4.5
Lovely experience at DDD celebrating our anniversary at the Jackelope.
The restaurant serves a five course menu but we were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary extra starters (palate cleansers), the delicious sourdough bread rolls and the pre-dessert. Service could be faster between courses, make sure to book yourself a good 2-3 hours for dining.
Ambience is darker and intimate than Rare Hare and without the wine yard views.
My Key Three Pointers
* Don’t have the vineyard views but look up and you get spectacular lighting feature.
* I definitely understand how this made 28 on the delicious guide for 2018.
* I love good food but when you get it paired with wine it becomes magical.
The service is exactly what you would expect when you fine dine. Perfection and attentive but not intrusive. You go for the experience , if you don’t like an explanation of what you are eating and drinking then maybe not for you. However, the knowledge the staff have about wines and the food is exceptional and I do find it fascinating.
Occasionally I love dinning in style and not having to order, just eat what your given and don’t stress your in good hands. I have this perception that there is a possibility we may need fast food afterwards but we had a great amount and left extremely satisfied. 5 course set menu and the option to add some things like oysters and cheese. The menu is seasonal and ever changing, I’m not going to say much about the food other than it was as fresh and delicious as you could imagine. The plates were so pretty I could have just stared at the plate and been happy. I’ll let the photos speak.
The decor is definitely elegant and at night the lighting is magical. I would definitely opt to go at night rather than during the day. The one thing I did not love is how the hotel guest including myself walk through the restaurant to get to their rooms. I found it a little distracting and uncomfortable, your eating then people are carrying bags to check in and out. Very small fault but if you were not staying at the hotel and paid good money you may feel a tad annoyed.
After dinner the fun does not end experience the cocktail lab and play some billiards. Overall it was a fantastic experience. We also got to have breakfast and that was also AMAZING
What an amazing experience at DDD! The most perfect five course dining experience + an exquisite cocktail pairing (and non-alcoholic pairing - yes that’s right) !!! With a seasonal menu you know that they only use the best of the best ingredients. I must admit though my favourite part of the restaurant was actually the toilets - completely blown away and impressed (but I’ll save that story for another time 😂). The restaurant takes attention to detail to another level. My friend and I decided to choose one of each mains to share as there were two options available. We did not mention this to the wait staff directly however they were able to pick this up from our indistinct chatter and brought us two share plates for the mains! (Again - impressed). All the wait staff were also very knowledgeable and the meals were very well paced! Honestly the place really speaks for itself - minimalistic, but sophisticated. Elegant and refined with the ‘just right’ low-lit ambience that is both warm and inviting. Can not recommend this place enough!
We had the pleasure of celebrating my partner's 30th birthday here and I still feel so blessed that we made the right decision on a restaurant beyond fit for this occasion. We feasted on the delightful 5 course menu accompanied by a few added additions compliments of the kitchen.
Every course was more delectable and complementary to the last, gradually building up to what was a perfect dessert in my mind.
To add to this, the service was the best we've had in the longest while, all bubbly and personable people working the floor and ensuring our every request was met. It really creates a whole new standard for fine dining on the Peninsula, incomparable to any others out there.
Thank you so much! We cannot wait to come back and try the other seasonal menus.
Went here for my anniversary dinner and it was simply amazing. From the minute we stepped in, the architecture, interior and ambience felt like a dream. We were greeted by friendly waiters and waitresses who were attentive, entertaining and informative. We had the 5 course degustation but couldn't help but add on more. It felt more like a 10 course degustation. The food was definately different with the menu changing seasonally but nevertheless it was still good. We enjoyed trying new foods and combinations that we would have never tried elsewhere. If you're contemplating on trying doot, doot, door..my advice...do it!
The setting of this restaurant is beautiful, the decor modern and sleek, and the service fantastic.
The staff were very attentive and knowledgable of the wine and the food. They also read us as the audience well and felt comfortable enough to have a laugh and a joke.
The six courses we had (optional cheese course included) were fresh, inventive and a great mix of flavours. I also think $110 for the meal without paired wine was very reasonable.
Definitely coming back.
One of the nice restaurant to try when you visit Balnarring, Mornington Peninsula. The restaurant looks very nice and clean. I would recommend this restaurant for couple who are looking for a lovely or romantic restaurant to dine out! The restaurant served 5 course degustation. Most dishes were delicious, especially the Murray cod and saltbush, it was beautiful and very delicious. The dried saltbush was tasty and fish was perfectly cooked! The duck dish was a little bit rare and it would be good to cook a little bit longer. Dessert was below average, because there were too much white chocolate, nuts and lots of crumbs! so it was too sweet! The service was very good, waitress was very friendly and polite. The food price is reasonable for 5 course degustation. This degustation menu is only last for a few month, so I would try it again once they have changed the new menu.
Went to Doot Doot Doot for lunch and had the five course degustation for $110, which went for approximately 2.5 hours. I was seated with friends next to the restaurant entrance door, which was distracting because i could see every customer walk in & out. Also, I had unnecessary bright head lights beaming directly above my head, even though it was daylight, and hence making it difficult to look up when ever I talked to friends. After a couple of hours whenever the restaurant entrance door opened, bright glaring light would be beaming at the corner of my eyes, making my vision even more difficult to see! For service, Doot Doot Doot needs improvement as water was not topped up frequently & a couple of waiters did not know how to smile. Hence I did not give Doot Doot Doot the perfect 5 score rating.
Food wise, it was above average for fine dining. We were served one of the best home made bread. Three starters were served before the mains, all were different but not impressive. I enjoyed each of the main courses and was impressed at how different flavours & ingredients were used for each dish. Portions appeared small but we left lunch feeling full so that was a relief for fine dining.
My partner and I had our 5 year anniversary dinner here Friday night (25/05/2018) and it was absolutely amazing. The venue was beautiful and the 10,000 light bulb installation covering the dining room roof was incredible.
Each course was explained to us in detail, was beautifully plated and most importantly delicious.
Service was 5 stars, very knowledgeable wait staff, shout out to Rob who even wrote down our favourite cheeses and where to find them. A perfect night out, we will definitely be back again.
What a delightful experience in an impressive location. Maybe it’s the wine talking , but I enjoyed pretty much everything about this place - including the stay. Yes it feels a little aloof and guess what, it is, but the prices are reasonable given this! Service was down to earth but sophisticated and enjoyable, the fitout and presentation is excellent with a few twists and the food - well we indulged in the degustation and matching international wines - happy days. Great selection of both food and wine and finished comfortable, but not ready to explode. The wine waiters verbatim recital around each glass of wine to the table next to us became a little dull (second time around) and certainly highlights a lack of interest in the guests - but really it couldn’t dull the shine of an excellent evening. Breakfast was also brilliant - the best bacon by far I have ever had (with the exception of my own of course)! I don’t know what it is, but the seating arrangement, while large spaces in between table sets, just doesn’t do it for me - rows of seats, while there is so much room behind you, still places you on top of the people beside you (being an introvert might be the problem). I do love the use of black and the Jackalope Hotel logo.
Absolutely amazing - beautiful interior and delicious food. Doot Doot Doot is an experience and I would certainly come again. I must say - it is not the most creative menu I have ever seen and the dishes were a little simple BUT for the fact that it was fairly priced considering it is in Mornington Peninsula which I haven’t expected as the venue is extremely fancy - it was fantastic! The only thing I have to criticise (and this may have to do with the fact that I went there on a work function) we have not been introduced in any of the wines we had which I found a bit unusual considering you are able to buy the wine there too.
My partner took me to Jackalope for my birthday weekend and booked us in for the larger set menu with matched wines. The food and matched wines were phenomenal. The space is so beautiful. The service is amazing. Highly recommend. One of the best dinning experiences I've had!
Visited Doot Doot Doot a couple of months ago and LOVED IT. Loved it so much that we went back again in January. The tasting menu is well priced - cheaper than a lot of other places around the area. The food was creative and delicious - even the ones without meat which can sometimes be bland - these ones were certainly not. The drinks were amazing as well, and the sommelier was adorable!! Service was great, very friendly and quick with the topping up of the water. We stayed the night and enjoyed an amazing breakfast the following morning, also served at Doot Doot Doot. The atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful, all the light globes all over the roof just looked incredible (10,000 globes I think they said?). We loved our experience - saving up for our next trip to Doot Doot Doot and Jackalope! 🤣
Stunning venue with amazing food and gorgeous views onto the winery but while the service was good, it needs to be excellent for a venue of this calibre. That's the only reason I'm giving them a 4.
Really enjoyed Doot Doot Doot the concept behind the food is great and the love is shown on the plate. The wine list was interesting and the sommelier was very knowledgeable and suggested great reasonably price local options. A big disappointment for us was the lack of view, which the bathroom had bags of?? Explained by staff it was to keep the focus in the good but when dining on Mornington Peninsula it’s what we come for as much as the food.
One word "amazing" I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy the "all stars" 5 course degustation and matching wines at this gorgeous place.
I was told on arrival that the "all stars" menu was special as it featured the most popular dishes from 2017 all together in one sitting!
I wasn't disappointed and can see why they are the most popular - each course was delicious and the wine pairing complemented each dish perfectly.
I would highly recommend this restaurant; nothing to fault - the food, wine, service and knowledge of the menu was outstanding.
Jackalope boutique hotel and its restaurant, Doot Doot Doot, opened on the first of April this year, and is the most beautiful art inspired hotel I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. There is no pomp and ceremony here, but the fine detail, and incredible wonder of design is breathtaking.
...
Bread made with cumin, fennel and linseed was a sign that the food was going to be good. After the amuse (a cracker with quail egg), the first course added to the intrigue. A deliciously fresh beginning of peas and broadens with goat’s curd, capers and a lemony dressing. After one beautifully presented dish, the scallops looking amazing was not a surprise. Thinly sliced into three pieces of sashimi, this scallop is served with ginger and finger lime, completed with a fabulous sauce.
Then came one of the highlights of the night. A generous serving of spanner crab sitting in a potato puree. Bottarga adds to the depth of flavour, with furikake used as a seasoning to further enhance the dish.
Pretty outstanding experience. Wonderfully friendly staff who made the experience un-stuffy and playful. We went on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was buzzy and charming all in one. We had the 4course only because we needed to get back to Melbourne. This was also the reason we didn't do matched wines. However the experience was just as special. The dining room lights are mesmerizing and dim and light different parts of the room throughout the night.
We had the:
-pumpkin, brown butter, black garlic, macadamia - that brown butter is nanna from the heavens. Matched with probably THE best bread I've ever tasted, this es superb!
- Spanner crab, potato, bottarga, furikake- to die for. I could eat that forever- again used the bread to sort the remnants on the plate.
-Lamb, celeriac, chard, freekeh- delish
- cheesecake with lavender semifreddo and blueberry Verne - subtle and delicious
Not to mention the surprise scallops at the beginning and a gorgeous happy birthday plate of delicious friande and fudge.
Wines were excellent, staff were attentive, great place for a special dinner. Can't wait to try The Rare Hare!
Simply amazing. When I came in we were told there was a 2 hour wait time but we were happy to drink cocktails next door and snack on a cheese and salami platter. It wasn't even an hour and we were advised that our table was free.
Everything that we had on the menu was delectable. It was all cooked to perfect and went down well with their amazing shiraz. From the food to the background and the service, I just didn't want to leave this place! I am going to tell everyone who also has a car how amazing this place is and unfortunately the wait time may be longer to get a table but they know it'll be well worth it! Well done!
Stayed at the Jackalope for the night and had the most amazing breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. The restaurant is absolutely stunning and was absolutely pumping for dinner also for their degustation menu. Breakfast menu was amazingly different, so creative which being in such a design focussed hotel was as expected. To start you are offered pastries which were of course amazing and then I had the lamb mince with hummus fried egg and asked for a side of the sausage... such incredible flavours and the service was so friendly and nothing too much trouble. Truly one of the great places for breakfast and will be back to tick off the degustation for dinner.
My fiancée and I dined here on Melbourne Cup day for dinner and it was an amazing experience. Our servers Kristi and Alistair were both very friendly and made the evening feel extra special. The food was delicious and presented very well. The experience, decor and food was worth every dollar. I would highly recommend this fine dining experience to everyone!
We came here to celebrate a lovely occasion. Greeted by friendly staff and as we were early, we head to the bar for drinks.
Stefan greeted us with politeness and explain on the menu, and a fun little game to play using a coin and menu.
We truely enjoy the dining experience. Great innovative food and cosy atmoshphere.
Loved their innovative and playful menu and the ambiance. The restaurant is both cosy and stunning, with the ceiling artwork the standout piece. Staff were all lovely. 5/5 - would love to return. Tip: stay at the beautiful hotel so you don't have to drive home and make a mini break of it - it's worth it (breakfast is also outstanding!)
We loved our dining experience at DOOT DOOT DOOT. Our server Gemma was kind and knowledgeable and we had an overall great experience. I think the price point of $125 per person was quite reasonable for the food and experience we received. Some of the dishes were experimental but not too much that they weren’t edible, they were exciting and tasty. We especially enjoyed the ‘bacon and eggs’ among other things. We would recommend to others :)

Very lucky to get a last minute booking at Doot Doot Doot. They're usually booked out weeks in advance but as soon as an available dining slot came up (I kept checking their online availability every morning when I got up and before I went to bed for about a week!), I booked in for dinner. I've heard amazing things about this restaurant and it definitely didn't disappoint.
The ambience, service and food was faultless. Probably the best dining experience we've had in a very long time!
Love the concept behind Jackalope and Doot Doot Doot which is all about mythical creatures with a bit of an Alice in Wonderland theme.
The menu becomes a bit of a scratchie game and along with a special coin and Morse code, you can crack the message on your menu while you wait for your food.
Plus the bathroom probably has the best views of any bathroom I've been to!
Loved everything about this place...worth the indulgence!
Outstanding meal at Doot Doot Doot featuring a divine chef’s menu of local produce and superb wine. Cannot fault the meals I’ve eaten here.
Amazing experience, busy place but staff were very nice and informative. Great place for a date
Great food. Portions are small which makes it easier to digest.
Came here for dinner.
