Probably the worst meal I've had in sometime. My first time at the Merriwa RSL Club.You visit small communities to support them and expecting a great country steak instead pay $27 for an overcooked steak tough as bootleather about the size of a cigarette packet served with about 50c worth of chips.
The Merriwa RSL has the best bistro in town by far. Meals are affordable. Servings are generous. Highly recommend the mushroom gravy. The rich and delicious flavour compliments your steak/schnitzel and chips extremely well. Salad serves are generous and not just mixed lettuce leaves.
Great for a overnight stay, need to be self contained. Drop into the RSL for a drink and meal. Walk up the street and see sights.
Food was very a generous serving. Beers where good value.
Nice little club good value meal at bistro.$6 pint on Wednesday 5pm till 6pm,nice stopover while car repair.
Food is beautiful and very well priced and service is fantastic. Huge thumbs up.

A terrific small town RSL. Merriwa lost over 100 men in WW1. The drinks were cold, and the food hot....and plenty of it!
