The new location is a tremendous upgrade over the previous one, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere has been retained. The food, too, is just as delicious as it always was. WereWe're looking forward to introducing friends and visitors to Al Shami.
The best place in sydney to offer shamy food , excellent service and tasty food.
Very nice new spacious restaurant . Food was amazing!! Reminded me of being in Syria. Great customer service. I'll definitely be returning with the family.

Delicious food and fantastic service. Great family restaurant.
The best food ,very good family restaurant and very good customer service.
Located just across Merrylands station, this Syrian Restaurant is easy to reached. Seating area is very spacious and can easily accommodate 100+ guests. We had three dishes and all were amazing. My favourite is the Broasted Chicken. One of the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted. So crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Served not only with chips but also with creamy, homemade garlic dip. The Alshami mixed plate is definitely a must try dish if you go there. All skewers (chicken, lamb and kafta) are awesome and the falafels are yum! (crispy on the outside).
Last but not least is the Alshami Shawerma. Like chicken wrap, but much better and packed with flavours.

Where can you eat Syrian food in Sydney? We're glad you asked. Head to Al Shami in Merrylands where they’re serving up dishes from both Syria and neighbouring Lebanon to a non-stop arrival of ex-pats. Couples? Friends? Families? They’re all here. The first thing you need to order is the muhammara, a spicy dip traditionally made from the Aleppo chilli pepper. Grab a round of soft Lebanese bread from the ready-packed bags on each table and savour the subtle chilli kick that builds slowly on your palate, its spiciness tempered by the sweetness of pomegranate molasses and the scattered crunch of crushed walnuts.
The new location is spacious and the layout is great. Thanks Al-Shami team for a great experience. The service is exceptional and the staff are very friendly

A lunchtime feast at Al Shami in Merrylands, where the daily special is a drawcard that can't be beat.Merrylands is the food suburb that just keeps on giving. We dream of the lamb choppan at Kebab Al-Hojat, the monto at Walli Asr and the fresh wholemeal Afghani bread from Golden Wheat bakery. Recently we've added another favourite to the list with Al Shami, a Lebanese and Syrian restaurant with a cracker of a specials menu.
Boosted Shawarma BBQ Jordanian Mansaf. Brosted is crispy chicken with chips I love it
Wow everything we had was amazing.
The food was delicious ,the staff was very welcoming and friendly, quick service.
One of our favourite food is Al shami Kabsah cooked perfectly, Al shami mixed plate with Mazda was amazing, even the kids meal Kafta and chips 🍟 was fabulous 👌.
Defiantly will back again .
Highly recommend
By the way very easy parking
Went in for the iftar menu. Great food and tremendous service. The staff are very attentive and caring. It’s my first time going there as well and was impressed with the decor, very reminiscent of my beloved Syria. Would definitely recommend and I’d go back for sure. Thank you to the lovely staff!
The food is very tasty, the atmosphere is kitschy, the service is a little slow but the staff are polite and friendly. It's in the quiet area of Marylands but it's worth a visit.
They open at 11 over the weekend which means you can squeeze in a late breakfast and go through the lovely breakfast menu they have ...
Portions are generous... dishes are tasty ... and setting by the water fountain listening to amazing oriental music while eating is an excellent experience overall ...
Beautiful place! Great service and friendly staff. The food was delicious and they did an amazing job catering for a large group of all ages. Thank you for making us feel so welcome 🙏
