The food is good, the staff are amazing, it's just such a relaxed place to dine out.... Don't let the location or exterior put you off... Once you have dined here you will regularly be back... It's very much a hidden gem amongst Gold Coast restaurants.
My hidden gem is Miami Rice! Owner Allan & staff are very friendly. Always remember my favourite order! No where else matches quality or taste of my salt & pepper prawns & "special" fried rice. Never miss an opportunity to visit when we are on the Gold Coast!
This place is amazing! We live locally and visit often. No other place on the Gold Coast stacks up to the amazing food, the wonderful staff/owners, atmosphere and price. We always walk away with a pep in our step �

Lovely meal with my friends here recently. Excellent food, great value and a good selection of beers and wines. The owner has a fantastic sense of humour. His staff could not be more helpful. A great position too, on the Gold Coast. Well worth a visit.

Great chinese food a hidden gem. Staff excellent and the head man great keeps checking to ensure everything is OK. Laughs with the children. First visit my daughters live up the road will definitely be back to work our way through the menu.

We really enjoyed our meal at Miami Rice. Fast efficient service, cute decor, nice staff and great Chinese food. We had spring rolls, Mongolian lamb, chicken and cashews, rainbow steak and fried rice. All the meals were really delicious. Recommended for great Australian Chinese.
We decided to go to Miami Rice because it was right next door and seemed to be full every night which is always a good pointer.
The staff were really friendly, the Place was clean and the ambience was good. The food was excellent, I had pork and vegetables and my wife had a seafood combination and we shared a special fried rice.
My dish was very good, it was spot on for flavour, there was plenty of meat and vegetables, the fried rice was excellent. My wife really enjoyed her combination except for the fish which she said could have had more flavour. Overall we rated the experience as a five and we will be going back.
✔The Nasi goreng could of used more sambal taste and spice levels could of been increased since I'm a spice lover, if your a very mild spice lover; you'll enjoy this dish!! Next time I just have to adjust the spice 🌶🌶
✔The duck was a bit 'too skinny' hence the meat was a teenie bit tough, could of used more fat on the duck to make the meat more tender, hence have the melting in mouth action. But on the good side: the gravy salinity was altered perfectly. ✔ Delicious Malaysian & Chinese cuisine. ✔ 40minute wait but with good company, time isn't an issue.
✔Friendly staff members. I loved how the chef came outside to greet and ask "how was the meal" etc. Small gestures like this really made our dining experience more enjoyable!!

Excellent Australian Chinese food right near the beach. We stayed in the adjacent hotel and were pumped that we had this restaurant right downstairs, a block from the beach. Love the name. The owner even stopped by our table for a chat, he is a great host. During the day there is a cafe out the back serving excellent brunch and cocktails in a lovely garden courtyard.
I came here for the first time and was surprised by the atmosphere inside compared to what i expected from seeing it outside being right below a small motel. Lots of seating, bright and helpful employees, old pop karaoke. It felt like I was in a different place!! I think the only downside was that it got really hot inside especially after eating hot and spicy food.
The chef came out a few times and would talk to everyone and showed us our HUGE mud crab alive before taking it into the kitchen.
We ordered the malaysian chilli mud crab, chicken chow mien, mongolian beef, and hot and sour soup . It was a really great meal, i loved every dish especially the crab which had the best sauce. The chef brought out rice that we could mix into the sauce after we finished the crab which is highly recommended !!
I think this is the only place for chinese-malaysian on the Gold Coast!!

The only family style Chinese joint you will ever need on the coast.
Food ordered:
Spring rolls, special fried rice, Mongolian lamb, honey prawns, chicken chow mien and a few drinks. Every dish had fresh ingredients and although some of it fried did not feel heavy on the palette. The highlights were the lamb and the chow mien. Featuring tender meat and delicious sauces. Highly recommend.
Ambience:
It's not easy finding places to eat when you have a pram and a potentially night ruining child with you. The staff were friendly and helpful and offered us an almost private room to dine. It was perfect and we felt we wouldn't disturb other diners.
The owner came past several times making jokes and checking on our experience. It added a nice personal touch to the meal.
Overall the prices were great as the portions plentiful. The included concern holding back the last .5 is the cleanliness. Although somewhat expected at some Asian restaurants, sticky tables and dingy fixtures don't help for scoring. But at these casual restaurants I don't hold those elements as crucial to a rating. The food said it all. I will be back.
My go to whenever I feel like going out! Miami rice makes the best Chinese food on the Gold Coast by far and the staff are super friendly making every night there super enjoyable!

Punerrific! Miami Rice might seem like a hilarious knock off of a 1980s buddy cop procedural, but it's actually an average quality Asian restaurant! Put chopsticks in your mouth to make a walrus face if you like, but don't forget to eat your food too! Playing with it all day will make it cold. Ask the staff the play the parts of Sonny and Rico from the 1989 television show from which the restaurant takes its name and be disappointed when they don't know what you're talking about as well! Sweet and Sour Pork!
Had dinner here on the second last night of our stay in qld. Food was delicious. Had tom yum soup, chicken and sweet corn, fried rice and Thai style noodles. Chef came out and spoke to us. Service was excellent, friendly and kind people. Nothing but excellent everything. :) I recommend this resturant!! Thanks for the lovely tea and fortune cookies!! :)
Absolutely beautiful food. The Moreton Bay Bugs are one of the best dishes I've ever tried, the sauce is amazing. Messy but delicious! The staff were so friendly & efficient. I'd highly recommend
Simply beautiful cuisine. Seared Scallops followed by Pepper Steak with Snow Peas and Salt and Pepper Salmon. The Chef came out for a chat which was a nice touch.

She made it a homely experience.The food and service were excellent. the prices are surprisingly reasonable It is the best Chinese restaurant that I've had the pleasure of dining at on the Gold Coast.and I've been to plenty in my 20+ years here.

BEST Chinese - Malaysian on the Gold Coast. This restaurant is quite new, with the owners, Alan Yap and his daughter Shoko moving from their previous Highland Court business at Benowa Gardens which they have sold. Their excellent food, however, has traveled with them to their new venue and all the old favourites are there in all their culinary splendour! And at the original very reasonable prices !!
Without doubt, Benowa's loss has been Miami's gain and the family have set about renovating an existing facility in the Outrigger Building at 2007 Gold Coast Highway.
Lunch specials at $10.90 are sensational, as is the dinner menu. They are licensed with a good wine list but welcome people bringing their own if they wish. Take your taste buds for a night out !! You won't regret it !!!
What a wonderful lunch we had. Tasty, fresh, well presented. We tried Chinese and Malaysian dishes and all were outstanding, moreover we got the lunch specials at $10.90 each. Excellent choice and definitively will come back.

Roti Canai with Chicken Curry was so delicious, nice coconut touch to the curry with this special roti that was too good. - Only $10.90 a meal too.
I guess the location was astray, located within Outrigger Resort? but it was good since we were staying there. The waiter was also a very interesting fellow, really friendly, helpful and nicely funny.
Will definitely be back to see the waiter and the food.
The highlight of our night was the Moreton Bay Bugs with Malaysian chilli sauce. With a similar but milder sauce than Singapore Chilli Crab, this dish was outstanding, the quality of bugs exceptional. Want it hotter? Then ask for more chilli on ordering.
Fantastic, we had delivery takeaway. We ordered the chefs special fillet steak with black pepper sauce, the Cantonese Crispy Roast Duck and the Salt and Pepper Prawns with special fried rice. It was absolutely fantastic the quality is so good, even delivered the salt and pepper prawns were still crispy you get 8 huge king prawns, the beef was so spectacular, and the duck was delicious I loved the pickled vegetables served with this dish. This food isn’t cheap n cheerful, massive serves of low grade ingredients, it’s great quality produce, cooked to perfection the type of food you get when dining in a great Cantonese restaurant.

Our party of seven enjoyed Mother's Day lunch at Miami Rice. The food was delicious and the service was faultless. The restaurant was super busy and everyone was happy and well-fed. This was only our second visit and both were great experiences. Highly recommended.
Our family loved our dinner at Miami Rice. Amazing friendly service and were so attentive. Busy evening but they were so kind to find us a table at short notice. Its the little things that make an evening out so special, including the fortune cookies, prawn crackers and they even poured our water and served up our rice individually! Can see why they are voted the best chinese on the Gold Coast!
Service was outstanding. Food was excellent with generous serving sizes. The fillet steak with pepper sauce, salt and pepper prawns and duck with plum sauce were so yum! Would highly recommend visiting this restaurant. Thanks for a lovely night.
From NSW and was staying in Gold Coast for the week, found Miami Rice through TripAdvisor and have to say the ratings are well deserved! The best hospitality, Service and Rainbow Beef we’ve experienced ever and the honey chicken was amazing and succulent, furthermore the steamed and fried rice were delicious.

We just had a great meal at Miami Rice! The staff were absolutely lovely, so accomodating of our young daughter. All of the dishes we ordered were delicious. Stand-out was the Beef Rendang! Will be back when we are next on the coast.
